Janet may refer to:
Janet Damita Jo Jackson (born May 16, 1966) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. Known for a series of sonically innovative, socially conscious and sexually provocative records, as well as elaborate stage shows, television and film roles, she has been a prominent figure in popular culture for over 30 years. The youngest child of the Jackson family, she began her career with the variety television series The Jacksons in 1976 and went on to appear in other television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Times and Fame.
After signing a recording contract with A&M Records arranged by her father and manager Joseph Jackson in 1982, she became a pop icon following the release of her third studio album Control (1986). Her collaborations with record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis incorporated elements of rhythm and blues, funk, disco, rap, and industrial beats, which led to crossover success in popular music. In addition to receiving recognition for the innovation in her records, choreography, music videos, and prominence on radio airplay and MTV, she was acknowledged as a role model for her socially conscious lyrics.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

I also suffered from depression a few years ago (believe it or not!) and this night, I suddenly had a relapse of sudden sadness. I just wanted to share that moment with you and let you know that you are not alone. Warning: This is unedited, I look horrible, and you may learn something about me that you didn't want to know. Recorded: August 18, 2016

Well, spare a thought for Janet, the heroine of Jonathan Herman’s latest ad for Subway and McCann London. From depressing dates to holiday let-downs, she’s suffered more than her fair share of disappointment – that is, until, she discovers Subway’s new Mango Chicken sub. Following on from his previous spot, Keith, this new film showcases Jonathan’s own brand of comedy and offers up a happy ending at last for our beleaguered protagonist.
janet + josh travel the world together. of all the places they have been, where they chose to have their wedding was definitely one of the most awe inspiring. a village in the south of france, probably no more than 50 people living there, surrounded by friends, family, wine, nature, and good food. the location was in itself a character in their film. it is what inspired the aspect ratio we shot in as well as our choice to use the RED EPIC. the finished piece is mostly EPIC footage but there is a good portion that is also DSLR. we shot with zeiss CP.2 35/50/85mm lenses as well as the RED 17-50 T2.9. most EPIC footage was off a monopod, with some shots on the slider or tripod. it was definitely a challenge to try to tell janet + josh’s story with the same intimacy as a DSLR but with a came...

This video was inspired by #SayHerName day (A national day of action to end violence against black women), Janet Jackson's birthday, and the 23rd anniversary of the janet. album. New Agenda was written by Janet as ode to black women. To instill pride, confidence, and remind black women of their heritage. A black feminist anthem at a time when it was still considered taboo. This video features black women past, present, and future who have broken barriers in entertainment and the world at large. I hope you like it. ENJOY!

I heard from a friend today
And she said you were in town
Suddenly the memories came back to me in my
Mind
How can I be strong I've asked myself
Time and time I've said
That I'll never fall in love with you again
A wounded heart you gave
My soul you took away
Good intentions you had many
I know you did
I come from a place that hurts
And God knows how I've cried
And I never want to return
never fall again
Making love to you
Oh it felt so good and
Oh so right
So here we are alone again'
Didn't think it'd come to this
And to know it all began
With just a little kiss
I've come too close to happiness
To have it swept away
Don't think I can take the pain
No never fall again
Kinda late in the game and my heart is in
Your hands
Don't you stand there and then
Tell me you love
Me then leave again
Cause I'm falling in love with
You again
Hold me
Hold me
Don't ever let me go
Say it just one time
Say you love me
God knows I do
Love you
Again
