Ann Marie Blyth (born August 16, 1928) is an American actress and singer, often cast in Hollywood musicals, but also successful in dramatic roles. Her performance as Veda Pierce in the 1945 film Mildred Pierce was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Blyth was born to parents who divorced shortly after her birth. She has been a devout Roman Catholic all her life. Blyth began her acting career initially as "Anne Blyth," but changed the spelling of her first name back to "Ann" at the beginning of her film career. Her first acting role was on Broadway in Watch on the Rhine (from 1941 until 1942). She was signed to a contract with Universal Studios, and made her film debut in Chip Off the Old Block in 1944. In musical films such as Babes on Swing Street, and Bowery to Broadway (both 1944), she played the part of the sweet and demure teenager.
On loan to Warner Brothers Blyth was cast "against type" as Veda Pierce, the scheming, ungrateful daughter of Joan Crawford in the 1945 film Mildred Pierce. Her dramatic portrayal won her outstanding reviews and she received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. (Crawford won the Best Actress award for that film.)

MILDRED PIERCE star -beautiful ANN BLYTH- lovingly reminisces about playing VEDA PIERCE, and working with the great JOAN CRAWFORD (who won the Oscar for her performance), EVE ARDEN, JACK CARSON, ZACHARY SCOTT, director MICHAEL CURTIZ. Interviewed by the "Czar of Noir " EDDIE MULLER at SF's legendary CASTRO THEATRE- the event, produced by SF impressario Marc Huestis in July 2006, attracted 1000 fans of the movie & the star. The World-famous song, from the sumptuous 1955 Cinemascope movie of "Kismet", sung by Ann Blyth, and composed by Wright and Forest. This soundtrack sequence was also released on record concurrently with the cinema release on MGM (catalogue number MGM 950).
"Stranger in Paradise" by Vic Damone & Ann Blyth, my favorite song of the Hollywood classic "Kismet" (Destiny) 1955 - Disclamer : This movie clip/music belong to MGM, i do not own it and i won"t earn any money with this clip.
Here is another recreation tribute to Ann Blyth, I originally created the original version of this tribute & was uploaded on my old channel back on October 2013, but I recovered half of the pictures including the song that was first used as a tribute 3 years ago & I also added some new pictures also. I hope everyone enjoy my tribute to the much beautiful actress Ann Blyth. The dark, petulant beauty of this petite American film and musical star worked to her advantage, especially in her early dramatic career. Ann Marie Blyth was born of Irish stock to Harry and Nan Blyth on August 16, 1928, in Mt. Kisco, New York. Her parents split while she was young and she, her mother and sister moved to New York City, where the girls attended various Catholic schools. Already determined at an early age...

A pleasant comedy with serious undertones, Free for All stars Robert Cummings as erstwhile inventor Christopher Parker. Hoping to secure a patent on his latest invention--a formula that turns water into gasoline--Parker is flummoxed by yards and yards of governmental and bureaucratic red tape. He also faces formidable opposition in the form of avaricious oil-company executive Blair (Ray Collins). Thankfully, Peterson can occasionally seek comfort in the arms of Alva (Ann Blyth), fortuitously the daughter of sympathetic patent-office employe Mr. Abbott (Percy Kilbride). Within a few years, the heat generated by the House UnAmerican Activities Committee would preclude the on-screen depiction of a villainous oil executive (this particular stereotype would, however, stage a comeback during the...
