4364.0.55.001 - National Health Survey First Results, 2014-15 Rise in Australians with high blood pressure In Australia, 23.0 per cent of adults (4.1 million people) had measured high blood pressure (systolic or diastolic blood pressure equal to or greater than 140/90 mmHg) in 2014-15. This is up from 21.5 per cent in 2011-12. Men (24.4 per cent) were more likely to have high blood pressure than women (21.7 per cent).
