John Fitzgibbons (July 10, 1868 Glenmore, Oneida County, New York - August 4, 1941 Buffalo, Erie County, New York) was an American politician from New York.

His family removed to Oswego, New York, in 1870. He attended the public schools, and was employed as a railway trainman in 1885, served as legislative representative of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen of New York State from 1896 to 1914 and again from February 1915 until January 1, 1933, and served as referee for the New York State Labor Bureau in 1914 and 1915.

He was an alderman of Oswego in 1908 and 1909; and Mayor of Oswego from 1910 to 1911, and from 1918 to 1921. He was a delegate to the 1920, 1924 and 1932 Democratic National Conventions.

In 1932, he was elected at-large as a Democrat to the 73rd United States Congress, holding office from March 4, 1933, to January 3, 1935. Afterwards he resumed his post as legislative representative for the Railroad Brotherhoods in Albany until his death in a Buffalo hospital in 1941. He was buried at the St. Peter's Cemetery in Oswego.

Sally Fitzgibbons is an Australian professional surfer on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). She was born in Nowra, NSW Australia, on 12 December 1990.

As a fourteen year old, Fitzgibbons won the ASP Pro Junior open event, an event open to any female surfer 21 and younger. Fitzgibbons started surfing at a young age, winning the Icon All-Girls Open Event Lennox Head in 2006 at age 16. She represented her State and Australia on many occasions in a number of different sports, including athletics, winning gold at the [2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival] 800m and 1500m, touch football, soccer, surfing and cross-country running while attending Kiama High School.

As a surfer, Fitzgibbons had her first significant results at the age of 14, becoming the youngest surfer to win an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Pro Junior (Under 21’s) event, also finishing second at the World Qualifying Series (WQS) Billabong Easter Girls Festival on the same day. She continued to set records throughout her junior years, winning the Australasian Pro Junior Series in 2007 and again in 2008. At 15, Fitzgibbons represented Australia at the International Surfing Association (ISA) U18 World Surfing Titles in Brazil placing second; at 16, she traveled to Portugal for the ISA U18 World Titles to win her first World Title and backed it up the following year winning both the Billabong ASP U21 World Title and the ISA World Games Open Title.

Tyler Wright (born April 6, 1973) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played in 613 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Wright was drafted 12th overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. As a junior with the Swift Current Broncos in 1989-90 he scored 32 points as a rookie. In 1990-91, he improved his offensive production, scoring 41 goals and 92 points in 66 games. In the 1991-92 season, he netted 36 goals and 82 points in 63 games.

After being drafted by the Oilers, Wright played parts of two seasons in Edmonton (1992–93 and 1993–94) but ultimately spent most of his time with their AHL team, Cape Breton Oilers.

On June 22, 1996, Wright was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 7th-round draft pick (Brandon Lafrance) and subsequently played 45 games with the Penguins during the 1996-97 season, registering 2 goals and 2 assists. In 1997-98, he joined the NHL ranks full time and played all 82 games for the Penguins. He helped his team win the Northeast Division title and then made his playoff debut.

Carissa Kainani Moore (born August 27, 1992) is an Hawaiian surfer and the 2011 ASP Women's World Tour Champion.

As of July 2011, Moore has won 6 ASP Women's World Tour events, 2 ASP WQS 6-Star events and an unprecedented 11 NSSA Titles.

Moore learned how to surf from her father. She has a younger sister Cayla.

Moore graduated from Punahou School in 2010.

2011, Moore was declared the ASP Women’s World Champion, the youngest winner of the Title. Throughout the 2011 Tour, Moore won the Billabong Rio Pro, Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic and the Roxy Pro Gold Coast.

2010, Moore was incepted into the ASP Women’s World Tour. During her first year on the Tour Moore won both the TSB Bank Women’s Surf Festival and Rip Curl Pro Portugal. Moore’s 2010 Women’s World Tour Ranking was 3rd overall. and she was awarded the ASP Women’s World Tour Rookie of the Year.

Maya Gabeira (born April 10, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro) is a professional big wave surfer from Brazil.

In 2009, Gabeira won the ESPY award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. Later that year, Gabeira surfed the biggest wave ever by a female when she successfully surfed a 45-foot wave at Dungeons, a big wave surf spot in South Africa.

In 2010, she was awarded with the Billabong Girls Best Overall Performance Award for a record four straight years in a row.

Gabeira's current sponsors include Billabong and Red Bull.

Gabeira's father is Fernando Gabeira, one of the founding members of the Green Party of Brazil.

She is currently dating Jesse Spencer.
