With restored alleys, art galleries and quaint cafes, Jaffe is a city that is very pedestrian friendly.
While strolling along the Jaffa seaport we spotted fishermen and street musicians busking for coins.
After scarfing down hummus and other delectable Israeli and Arab snacks, we spent the rest of our time making our way down narrow lanes of the Flea Market and Bazaar. From antiques to souvenirs this is where tourists load up on items such as finely crafted hookahs and postcards to send home.

Today we're going on a tour to Jaffa where we're going to be checking out a traditional flea market.

You can find lots of really cool items in this market. They have antiques, souvenirs, paintings, furniture.
So we really enjoyed exploring Jaffa or Yaffo as they like to call it. So my favorite thing about wandering around Jaffa has been that they have these narrow little alleys that are just kind of like a maze and you come across these friendly little cats that are just hanging out, so it's been a really fun place to explore. It's also a nice sunny day and we're right by the sea, so it was a great morning out and a nice little introduction to Israel.

Jaffa is the oldest city on the Mediterranean Sea.
Jaffa : (Arab. Yaffa, Heb. Yafo, Bible Joppa) lies on the Mediterranean Sea. Founded by the Canaanites in the 18 th century B.C.E., Jaffa has been historically important largely because of its port (which was closed in 1965 to merchant shipping). The small old port is used as a fishing harbor and became an international marina. From archaeological discoveries and ancient documents we learn that Jaffa existed as a port city some 4,000 years ago, serving Egyptian and Phoenician sailors in their sea voyages.

This video took place at Guinness World Records HQ in London, UK. The official previous record was 8 in one minute, 10 was going to become the record, then I came in and did 13. I will do more next time as this was the first time I had ever tried a Jaffa Cake.
Rules for this record:
- Jaffa cakes are biscuit-like cakes that comprise three layers: a sponge cake base, a fruit-flavoured jelly, and a layer of chocolate covering the jelly and margin of the sponge.
- The Jaffa cakes must be of minimum size 54mm (2.125in) in diameter, and must be eaten as they come from the pack - they may not be altered or modified in any way.
- You must completely swallow one Jaffa cake before eating the next one (show your mouth is empty).
- No drinking is permitted during the record attempt
- Only Jaffa cakes completely swallowed during the one minute period are to be counted toward your final score.
- As with all consumption record challenges, we strongly recommend you do not attempt this multiple times in one day

Jaffa
Jaffa (Hebrew: יָפוֹ, 
Yāfō ; Arabic: يَافَا), also called Japho or Joppa, is the southern, oldest part of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, an ancient port city in Israel. Jaffa is famous for its association with the biblical stories of Jonah, Solomon, and Saint Peter as well as the mythological story of Andromeda and Perseus.
Etymology
The town was mentioned in Egyptian sources and the Amarna letters as Yapu. Mythology says that it is named for Japheth, one of the sons of Noah, the one who built it after the Great Flood. The Hellenist tradition links the name to Iopeia, or Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda. An outcropping of rocks near the harbor is reputed to have been the place where Andromeda was rescued by Perseus. Pliny the Elder associated the name with Jopa, the daughter of Aeolus, the god of the wind. The Arab geographer Al-Muqaddasi referred to it as Yaffa.
History
Early antiquity
Tel Yafo (Jaffa Hill) rises to a height of 40 meters (130 feet) with a broad view of the coastline. Hence it had a strategic importance in military history. The accumulation of debris and landfill over the centuries made the hill even higher. Archaeological evidence shows that Jaffa was inhabited roughly 7,500 years BCE.

Vennela Kishore
Vennela Kishore (born Bokkala Kishore Kumar) is Tollywood actor. He got the moniker "Vennela" after his first feature film Vennela in the year 2005. He was awarded with Nandi Award for Best Male Comedian for his performance in Inkosaari.
Early life
Kishore was born at Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Telangana, India. Before his acting debut, he was working in USA as a Software Quality Engineer. In 2008 he gave up his career to fulfill his passion for movies and moved to settle down in India.
Career
He received appreciation for his role "Sastri" in the movie Dookudu. His other notable performances include Bindass, pilla Zamindar, Daruvu, Seema Tapakai, Doosukelta. He also directed two Telugu films (Vennela 1½, Jaffa). After tasting failure with his directorial projects, he has returned to acting.

Furious Pete
Peter Czerwinski, better known by his stage name Furious Pete, (born November 30, 1985) is a Polish and Canadian competitive eater. Czerwinski currently holds nine Guinness World Records in eating and is also a famous YouTuber with over two million subscribers (2.5 million as of January 14, 2016).
Early life and career
Peter Czerwinski was born November 30, 1985, in Toronto. Both his parents had health issues. As a teenager, he battled against anorexia and was hospitalized at Toronto's The Hospital for Sick Children. Bodybuilding was a major factor in his recovery.
Czerwinski has a slower digestion rate than the average person's. His daily diet comprises nine balanced meals and he exercises daily. Czerwinski realized his talent in eating when he managed to beat an eating record. Thereafter, he decided to take on more eating-related challenges and post them on YouTube. In 2015 he did the Taki challenge. Having participated in more than 90 eating competitions, Czerwinski holds six Guinness World Records in competitive eating, including that for eating a whole raw onion in 43.53 seconds, devouring seventeen bananas in 2 minutes, finishing fifteen hamburgers in 10 minutes, guzzling a 750-millilitre bottle of olive oil in 60 seconds, and consuming 17 Jaffa Cakes in sixty seconds. He also participated in season one of Canada's Got Talent. For his performance, he consumed 5 hard boiled eggs, 3 pieces of Canadian bacon, 2 bananas, and a bag of milk in 51 seconds; however, he did not make it past the Toronto Auditions.

With a diverse population it is where most of the Arab population settles in Tel Aviv. From various vantage points one can enjoy gorgeous beach promenade views. This area, in particular, is especially popular with fitness buffs enjoying jogging, running, swimming and surfing.

With restored alleys, art galleries and quaint cafes, Jaffe is a city that is very pedestrian friendly.
While strolling along the Jaffa seaport we spotted fishermen and street musicians busking for coins.
After scarfing down hummus and other delectable Israeli and Arab snacks, we spent the rest of our time making our way down narrow lanes of the Flea Market and Bazaar. From antiques to souvenirs this is where tourists load up on items such as finely crafted hookahs and postcards to send home.

Today we're going on a tour to Jaffa where we're going to be checking out a traditional flea market.
I knew we'd find a cat. Crazy cat lady. Hello!

You can find lots of really cool items in this market. They have antiques, souvenirs, paintings, furniture.
So we really enjoyed exploring Jaffa or Yaffo as they like to call it. So my favorite thing about wandering around Jaffa has been that they have these narrow little alleys that are just kind of like a maze and you come across these friendly little cats that are just hanging out, so it's been a really fun place to explore. It's also a nice sunny day and we're right by the sea, so it was a great morning out and a nice little introduction to Israel.

Jaffa is the oldest city on the Mediterranean Sea.
Jaffa : (Arab. Yaffa, Heb. Yafo, Bible Joppa) lies on the Mediterranean Sea. Founded by the Canaanites in the 18 th century B.C.E., Jaffa has been historically important largely because of its port (which was closed in 1965 to merchant shipping). The small old port is used as a fishing harbor and became an international marina. From archaeological discoveries and ancient documents we learn that Jaffa existed as a port city some 4,000 years ago, serving Egyptian and Phoenician sailors in their sea voyages.
Music used in this video is Called Dabke دبكة and it's a popular palestinian music. Song name is -ya zaref atool- by ابراهيم صبيحات

This video took place at Guinness World Records HQ in London, UK. The official previous record was 8 in one minute, 10 was going to become the record, then I came in and did 13. I will do more next time as this was the first time I had ever tried a Jaffa Cake.
Rules for this record:
- Jaffa cakes are biscuit-like cakes that comprise three layers: a sponge cake base, a fruit-flavoured jelly, and a layer of chocolate covering the jelly and margin of the sponge.
- The Jaffa cakes must be of minimum size 54mm (2.125in) in diameter, and must be eaten as they come from the pack - they may not be altered or modified in any way.
- You must completely swallow one Jaffa cake before eating the next one (show your mouth is empty).
- No drinking is permitted during the record attempt
- Only Jaffa cakes completely swallowed during the one minute period are to be counted toward your final score.
- As with all consumption record challenges, we strongly recommend you do not attempt this multiple times in one day

With restored alleys, art galleries and quaint cafes, Jaffe is a city that is very pedestrian friendly.
While strolling along the Jaffa seaport we spotted fishermen and street musicians busking for coins.
After scarfing down hummus and other delectable Israeli and Arab snacks, we spent the rest of our time making our way down narrow lanes of the Flea Market and Bazaar. From antiques to souvenirs this is where tourists load up on items such as finely crafted hookahs and postcards to send home.

Today we're going on a tour to Jaffa where we're going to be checking out a traditional flea market.
I knew we'd find a cat. Crazy cat lady. Hello!

You can find lots of really cool items in this market. They have antiques, souvenirs, paintings, furniture.
So we really enjoyed exploring Jaffa or Yaffo as they like to call it. So my favorite thing about wandering around Jaffa has been that they have these narrow little alleys that are just kind of like a maze and you come across these friendly little cats that are just hanging out, so it's been a really fun place to explore. It's also a nice sunny day and we're right by the sea, so it was a great morning out and a nice little introduction to Israel.

From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

My name is Zahi Shaked

My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. The second you are there you will forget any warning and all your precautions, because it doesn't feel dangerous at all. Especially if you are in Tel Aviv, the hip party capital of Israel.
After spending some time at the beach, sightseeing and wandering the markets of the Tel Aviv city center you should make some time to spend a day in Jaffa. It is the oldest part of Tel Aviv with an old port and ancient walls. You can walk there along the ocean from Tel Aviv. That should take you about half an hour, depending on your starting point. One option is to rent a bike and ride along the coast, that might be the fastest and most convienent way to explore the ancient port.
Up the hill there is a wishing bridge: Walk up to your zodiac sign and make a wish. And check out the Statue of Faith with the magnificient view of Tel Aviv behind it. Going down to the port you can walk through the zodiac alleys, where you can find art galleries and many nice outlooks.

Given the procedure involves shoving a really long needle into my guts, guided by an MRI scanner, to hit a small lump the size of a Jaffa, I agree with the idea of having the best person do it – I'm not keen on having any old Dr Shakey giving it a crack ... I'll report back next week by which stage I will have had the Jaffa skewered and know what it is – hopefully it's a 'damp squid' that we can 'nip in the butt' in 'one foul swoop'....
