Saint Camillus de Lellis, M.I., (25 May 1550 – 14 July 1614) was an Italian priest who founded a religious Order dedicated to the care of the sick.
Camillus de Lellis was born on May 25, 1550, at Bucchianico (now in Abruzzo, then part of the Kingdom of Naples). His mother, Camilla Compelli de Laureto, was nearly fifty when she gave birth to him. His father was an officer in both the Neapolitan and French royal armies and was seldom home. De Lellis had his father's temper and, due to her age and retiring nature, his mother felt unable to control him as he grew up. She died in 1562. As a consequence he grew up neglected by the family members who took him in after her death. Tall for his age, at 16 De Lellis joined his father in the Venetian army and fought in a war against the Turks.
After a number of years of military service, his regiment was disbanded in 1575. De Lellis was then forced to work as a laborer at the Capuchin friary at Manfredonia; he was constantly plagued, however, by a leg wound he received while in the army, which would not heal. Despite his aggressive nature and excessive gambling, the guardian of the friary saw a better side to his nature, and continually tried to bring that out in him. Eventually the friar's exhortations penetrated his heart and he had a religious conversion in 1575. He then entered the novitiate of the Capuchin friars. His leg wound, however, had continued to plague him and was declared incurable by the physicians, thus he was denied admission to that Order.
The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is a non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations, together representing more than 10,000 non-profit and for-profit assisted living, nursing facility, developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that care for more than 1.5 million elderly and disabled individuals nationally. AHCA was founded in 1949 and is based in Washington, D.C. The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) is part of AHCA.
AHCA/NCAL works with Congress and the Federal government to advocate for long term care services. Membership is open to small and large health care facilities as well as long term care administrators, directors of nursing, certified nursing assistants, and facility owners and operators.
Currently, the CEO/President of AHCA is Mark Parkinson, former Governor of Kansas. NCAL's CEO/President is Dave Kyllo.
AHCA publishes a weekly member-only email newsletter called Capitol Connection and a separate monthly magazine titled Provider. The publications include breaking news and legislative progress on regulations and issue affecting the long term care industry. The association also offers professional development, educational, and networking opportunities. AHCA/NCAL established their Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes campaign in 2007 to improve care quality in nursing homes.
MSNBC is an American basic cable and satellite television network that provides news coverage and political commentary from NBC News on current events. The network also carries a prime-time 'opinion page' programming bloc with a mostly progressive slant. It is owned by the NBCUniversal News Group, a unit of the NBCUniversal Television Group division of NBCUniversal.
MSNBC and msnbc.com were founded in 1996 as separate partnerships between Microsoft and General Electric's NBC unit, hence the network's naming. Although they shared the same name, msnbc.com and MSNBC maintained separate corporate structures and news operations, with msnbc.com headquartered on the West Coast on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington, and MSNBC in the NBC headquarters in New York. Microsoft divested its stake in the MSNBC channel in 2005, and divested its stake in msnbc.com in July 2012, rebranding the general news site as NBCNews.com and creating a new msnbc.com as the online home of the cable news channel. As of February 2015, approximately 94,531,000 households (81.2% of those with television) receive MSNBC within the United States of America.
Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. A Democrat as of 2015, Sanders had been the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, though his caucusing with the Democrats entitled him to committee assignments and at times gave Democrats a majority. Sanders has been the ranking minority member on the Senate Budget Committee since January 2015, and previously served for two years as chair of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.
Sanders was born and raised in the New York City borough of Brooklyn and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1964. While a student, he was an active civil rights protest organizer for the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. After settling in Vermont in 1968, Sanders ran unsuccessful third-party campaigns for governor and U.S. senator in the early to mid-1970s. As an independent, he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont's most populous city, in 1981, and was reelected three times. In 1990, he was elected to represent Vermont's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1991, Sanders co-founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He served as a congressman for 16 years before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006. In 2012, he was reelected with 71% of the popular vote. During the 2016 presidential primaries, Sanders became the first self-described democratic socialist and first Jewish American to win a presidential primary of a major party, namely the New Hampshire primary.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, often abridged as Last Week Tonight, is an American late-night talk and news satire television program airing on Sundays on HBO in the United States and HBO Canada, and on Mondays (originally Tuesdays) on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom. The half-hour long show premiered on Sunday, April 27, 2014, and is hosted by comedian John Oliver. Last Week Tonight shares some similarities with Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where Oliver was previously featured as a correspondent and fill-in host, as it takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events on a weekly basis.
Oliver has said that he has full creative freedom, including free rein to criticize corporations. His initial contract with HBO was for two years with an option for extension. In February 2015, it was announced that the show has been renewed for two additional seasons of 35 episodes each. Oliver and HBO programming president Michael Lombardo have discussed extending the show from half an hour to a full hour and airing more than once a week after Oliver "gets his feet under him".
Health care has taken center stage in the last few months in the United States. From debates on Capitol Hill, to town hall meetings, to non-stop media coverage, topics like insurance coverage, Medicaid expansion, and payment reform have been on everyone’s minds. No matter your view, we believe a common understanding of the issues is critical. It is in that spirit that we share this video from Dr. Don Berwick. Berwick, President Emeritus and a Senior Fellow at IHI, explains the changing health care landscape in terms that are both simple and comprehensive. What’s the future of the Affordable Care Act? If it’s “repealed and replaced” by the American Health Care Act, what will change? What's the difference between the two? Berwick originally gave a version of this lecture at a Leadership A...

At Monday’s White House press briefing, Sean Spicer hinted that the Trump administration would be withholding their monthly Obamacare payment assistance to low-income Americans if the American Healthcare Act (AHCA) is not immediately passed. They are holding the money that helps low income Americans afford health insurance hostage until they get their way. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this. History [edit]Partridge and his academy The university was founded in 1819 at Norwich by military educator and former superintendent of West Point, Captain Alden B. Partridge. Captain Partridge believed in the "American System of Education," a traditional liberal arts curriculum with instruction in civil engineering and military science. After leaving West Point because of congressional disapproval of his system, he returned to his native state of Vermont to create the American Literary, Scientific and Military Academy. Captain Partridge, in founding his academy, rebelled against the reforms of Sylvanus Thayer to prevent the rise of what he saw as the greatest threat to the security of the young republic: a professional officer class. He believed that a well-trained militia was an urgent ...
http://2010.newhousemilitary.org/stories/video/labor-love In a perfect world, Cynthia Williams would never leave B-Unit at the St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She would constantly be providing care while watching over all the residents and certified nurses aids. If nurse supervisor Jeffery Emlaw had his way, all of the CNAs on his unit would be exactly like Williams. “I would like to clone her,” Emlaw said. “If I could have 10 more of her that would be wonderful; I’m grateful for Cynthia.” Emlaw said CNAs are employed as the main hands-on caregivers for the residents. Emlaw explained that a CNA’s job is to dress, toilet, and assist with feeding, and anything else the residents need to function on a daily basis. “I rely on Cynthia as a right hand person,” Emlaw said. “...

Uh, yeah y'know, shit is wild he, heh
Can't complain though I'm alive
Healthy and all a that knahmsayin?
Just tryin' to do my thang, praise to all
Bust it that nigga Slick Rick said, I waited long time sweatin' it
I got jerked but now I'm gettin' it, hazy like asthma bizarre disaster
Stress almost held me down from bein' a master
The faster preacher, poet, a teacher, it's been so long like Monifah
Believe that I'm needed, in rappin', I breathe this
Some pick up a microphone and can't even achieve this
Oscar award winning your shit, I'm bored with it
Stop copy-catting son
(Why?)
'Cause your dog did it
Get your own lingo, make up your own jingle
Ten years later you be bitin' my single
Primo, take it downtown, swing it
Intervenin' on the board, sensimil steamin', yeah
Catch the vibe like a tribal dance
In the clubs on the low with the boy stance
Money rubbin' with a shorty got bumped by a chump
Tell him, step off, I'm doin' the hump, yeah
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way you bound to get dropped
Some wish that I was gone 'cause they know I'ma win
In a minute, I'll be makin' six G's times ten
I'm the computer, printin' out data take notes
Then analyze the information and press send
Freaky like porno, Ron Jeremy saw no
Obstacle or pussy to stop him from bonin' a hoe
Me and the mic double trouble
Chicks look at us like twins, all lovable and huggable
Prognosis, on the, mic I choke out
Had the same effects from coughin', blowin' smoke out
Architect, rap technician, man listen
It's no doubt you gonna pump this in your system
My skills ill and all of that above
Confidence, I'm not worried 'bout a street buzz
I'm O.C., who you? I never heard of ya
Get out my face 'fore I turn into a motherfuckin' murderer
I want the green like indo, a mansion, a car
A wife who's never been a bimbo
Too much to ask, well, to me that's simple
Wanna retire on a yacht called the S. S. Minnow
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
Top choice, this here nigga got poise
Ain't a man alive who could stop my noise
I snatch a star from the sky, spark up your lye
You stand astounded wonderin' how I did it
Now you're star struck, like I truck gold
Treatin' me like a nigga havin' a million records sold
Now a star child, phenomenon like the X-Files
Rappers know I'm comin' so they go in exile
Czar in this rap shit, comin' on your mattress
Microphone fiend, I make beats do back flips
Fear me like genocide, serious
How I do it through your stereo, mysterious
O.C. do demolition, nil competition
Like robot Kong on a destroy mission
A matter of life and death you try to fight for breath
I snatch your heart from a slice through your chest
Who the best from New York to Bogota?
Who got face thinkin' they scare me with a scar, shit?
What I be bringin' is a terrible sight
A performance never again performed on the mic
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
I say it's my world and I won't stop
And if you stand in my way, you bound to get dropped
