Arun Kumar

Arun Kumar is an Indian politician who is a Member of the Lok Sabha representing the Jahanabad constituency in the Lok Sabha, which is the lower house of the Parliament of India. He won his seat in the Indian general election, 2014 as a Rashtriya Lok Samta Party candidate. He is close to the present Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

Kumar has been a member of various parties and as of 2014 is Bihar State President of the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party. His father is Brijnandan Sharma, who represents Bihar Shikshak Sangh and he comes from the village of Maniyawan, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Jehanabad.

Along with Anand Mohan Singh and Akhlaq Ahmed, Kumar had been sentenced to death in 2007 for his alleged part in the lynching of a Dalit district magistrate. The ruling in his case and that of Ahmed was overturned on appeal when it was determined that he had been present but not involved in the murder; Singh's sentence was reduced to life imprisonment.

Kumar and a younger brother own Gyan Bharti, a chain of residential schools in Bihar. One of his four brothers is also an MLA, representing the Janata Dal (United) party.

Arun

Arun is a local government district in West Sussex, England. It contains the towns of Arundel, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, and takes its name from the River Arun, which runs through the centre of the district.

History

Arun was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, merging the Urban Districts of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, the municipal borough of Arundel and parts of Chichester and Worthing Rural Districts.

Governance

The council has been under the control of the Conservative Party since its first election in 1973. The last elections to the council were held on 5 May 2011. Following those elections and subsequent by-elections, the composition of the council is as follows:

Geography

Arun District occupies the central southern area of West Sussex, and is bordered by Chichester District to the west, Horsham District to the north and Worthing borough and Adur District to the east. The district is bisected by the River Arun, and is divided between a broad rural area in the north of the district that contains Arundel and a host of small villages, part of which sits within the South Downs National Park, and an urban coastal strip that includes Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

Undavalli Aruna Kumar

Undavalli Arun Kumar (born 4 August 1954), is a former Member of Parliament in India. He represented the Indian National Congress from Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh in 2009.

Early life

Arun Kumar was born in Undavalli,Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He did his B.Com from Govt. College, Rajahmundry and Bachelor of Law from C. R. Reddy Law College, Eluru.

Career

Arun Kumar actuvely participated in 1972 Jai Andhra movement as a student. He runs a weekly, Eevaram Janavaarta, a publication on contemporary political issues.

Political career

In 2004 and 2009, he won the Lok Sabha elections from Rajahmundry. In 2009, he won against two prominent film actors, Telugu Desam Party candidate Murali Mohan and another film star U. V. Krishnam Raju.

Translation

Arun Kumar acted as translator of Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and ex president Rahul Gandhi. He was a member of Congress Working Committee.

Arun Kumar is married to Jyoti and has a daughter Shravanti.

Kumar

Kumar ( pronunciation ; Sanskrit: कुमार) is a Hindu title, a given name, middle name, or a family name found in India, though not specific to any caste or community. It is a generic title which variously means son, boy, prince, unmarried or chaste. It is the 9th most common family name in the world, 3rd most common in India and 2nd most common in Fiji. It is more common in Northern India and the most common family name in Haryana, Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

History

The origin of Kumar can be traced back to early development of Hinduism and its origin in India. The first usage of Kumar was for the Four Kumāras, the four sons of Brahma from the Puranic texts of Hinduism named Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana, and Sanat.

In Skanda Purana, the largest Mahapurana, a genre of eighteen Hindu religious texts, the text is devoted mainly to the leelas of Kartikeya, son of Shiva and Parvati. "Kumar" is used to refer Kartikeya.

Black Money is a novel by US American mystery writer Ross Macdonald. Published in 1966, it is, according to Matthew Bruccoli and other critics, among the most powerful of all Ross Macdonald's novels. It was his own personal choice as his best book.

Plot summary

The plot is typically intricate: the jilted boyfriend of the formerly wealthy Virginia Fablon hires Lew Archer to investigate the background of her inamorata, a man named Francis Martel, a man of mysterious wealth, grandiose claims, and violent threats, a man she quickly weds after Archer's arrival. The resulting inquiries take Archer from the homeless to the wealthy, a canvassing seen in other Macdonald novels. Except for brief forays into Las Vegas—the title refers to cash skimmed by casino operators to avoid taxes—and the environs of Los Angeles, the action takes place around Montevista, in private clubs, homes, clinics, the academy, and seedy and luxurious hotels; the implications, however, reach beyond California, as the edges of the story extend to Central America and Europe, whose cultures and economies the book sees as inextricably tied to American life.
