Gracie is a 3-year-old female American bulldog mix (ID no. 19412). She is sweet and loves belly rubs. Meet her at the St. Johns County Pet Center, 130 N. Stratton Road, St. Augustine. Hours: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Gates close at 4 p.m. Saturday. St. Johns dogs are $35 for males and $50 for females; fees vary and include spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and shots. Also at the Jacksonville center is Sheba, a 2-year-old female domestic shorthair cat (ID no. A1048716). She is quiet, sweet and loves to play with toys and curl up in her bed. She can be reserved and needs a calm home.

At the Nassau center is Ghost, a 4-year-old male hound mix (ID no. 35306170). His a sweetheart. He was stray and is a little skinny, but will be good as new after extra rations and loving. Dog fees vary.

At the Clay center is Rimes, a 2-year-old male pit bull terrier (ID no. A019409). He is mild-mannered, gets along with other dogs, waits for treats, walks well on a leash and knows the sit command. He does not get along with cats and chickens.

At the Putnam center is Elroy, a 3-year-old male bulldog mix (ID no.00837-1). He is friendly and gets along well with other dogs. He is neutered and current on vaccinations, including rabies.

At the St. Johns center is Zorro, a 1-year-old male cat (ID no. 38001). He was stray, so some of his traits are unknown. He is neutered. St. Johns cats are two for the price of one — $15 for all seniors, $20 for other males and females; fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and shots.
