David Hayman (born 9 February 1948) is a Scottish film, television and stage actor and director, known for his role as DCS Mike Walker in ITV drama Trial & Retribution.
Hayman was born in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. He began his acting career at the Citizens Theatre in the city, playing a variety of roles, including Hamlet, Figaro and Al Capone. He gained national prominence playing notorious Barlinnie Prison convict turned sculptor, Jimmy Boyle, in the film A Sense of Freedom. After this film he focused on playing character roles rather than the lead. His long list of film credits include appearances supporting Pierce Brosnan in The Tailor of Panama, Bruce Willis in The Jackal and Kevin Spacey in Ordinary Decent Criminal. He also appeared in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas as well as John Boorman's Hope and Glory.
Hayman is well known for his role as Chief Supt. Michael Walker in Lynda La Plante's long-running crime thriller Trial & Retribution, which had twelve series from 1997 to 2009. He has a distinct scar over his left eye, which he chose to use as character makeup, along with a shaved head, for his part in the series.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Steven Knight (born 1959) is a British screenwriter and film director. Knight has written the screenplays for the films Closed Circuit, Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, and also directed as well as written the films Locke and Hummingbird (a.k.a. Redemption). Knight has also written scripts for numerous British television programmes such as the British version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (and is also the series creator, the UK version being the inspiration for the US version), BBC's Commercial Breakdown, The Detectives and others.
Knight is best known for screenplays he wrote for the films Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises. His work on the screenplay for Dirty Pretty Things earned him the Edgar Award for Best Motion Picture Screenplay and London Film Critics Circle award for British Screenwriter of the Year. The screenplay was also nominated for several other awards including the Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay and the BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Black Hollywood is the third album by Hip Hop duo Camp Lo, released on July 24, 2007, on Good Hands Records. It is the duo's first album in five years. The album is entirely produced by long-time collaborator Ski, who produced the majority of the group's first two albums, Uptown Saturday Night and Let's Do It Again. The album features guest appearances from Ski and Jungle Brown, who appeared on the duo's debut. The album's first official single is the title track "Black Hollywood" .
The album's original title was A Piece of the Action, a reference to the Sidney Poitier-Bill Cosby film A Piece of the Action. The group's previous albums were also named after films starring Poitier and Cosby. The song "Ganja Lounge" contains a sample from the voiceover at the beginning of the 1995 film Friday.
Black Hollywood Live is the world’s 1st online broadcast network devoted mainly to African American entertainment. BHL current programming showcases news, intelligent commentary, and inside information on entertainment, pop culture, politics and lifestyle and features in depth interviews with celebrities, experts, and influencers of all kinds.
Producer Keven Undergaro and E! host Maria Menounos created Black Hollywood Live for the purpose of delivering intelligent, thought-provoking commentary, as well as serving as an insider source for news, information and resources. The two are pioneers in online broadcasting with Menounos serving as the 2014 CES ambassador and the duo having created and launched AfterBuzz TV, the largest pure online broadcast network that produces post-game 'after-shows' for your favorite TV shows.
Through successful AfterBuzz TV after-shows such as Scandal, Real Husbands of Hollywood, Love and Hip Hop, and The Game, Undergaro noticed an increasing demand for African American online talk, news, and entertainment. Between partner Maria Menounos' 15 years of experience in both hard news and entertainment news and Undergaro's producing experience in TV and digital broadcasting, the two sought to meet that demand. In building the network and assigning a network head, Undergaro met with Derrial Christon.

I was on the red carpet for the FX series “Taboo” premiering tonight (January 10). I briefly spoke with David Hayman (Brace) about his role and what attracted him to the series. Steven Knight (Creator/EP/Writer) and I spoke about working with Tom & Chip Hardy on this spooky mystery drama set in the 1800s. Set in 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence.
