Two-times Golden Horse Awards(金馬獎) winning actor Ko Chun Hsiung(柯俊雄) passed away from lung cancer at Tri-service General Hospital. He was 70 years old. According to sources, he passed away on December 6th, 2015 at 11 pm. His body was transported to First Funeral Parlor at midnight. His wife Tsao Qing Hua(蔡青樺) was seen at the funeral parlor to take care of his passing and was in sorrow.

Taiwan has been home to many glamorous screen couples, but perhaps none as striking as Ko Chun-hsiung and Chang Mei-yao. Three years before their marriage in 1970, they co-starred in Fallen Petals, a wartime romance with a difference. One of the few films set in Taiwan during World War II, when the island was a colony of Japan, the drama casts Ko as a medical student drafted into the Japanese army and forced to leave his pregnant girlfriend behind. When he is presumably killed in action, Chang becomes a cabaret girl (and presumably engages in everything that profession implies) to support their baby. Predictably, Ko wasn't killed and returns to find his sweetheart. But thanks to director Pan Lei's sensitive scenario, the outcome is far from predictable, resulting in one of Shaw Brothers' most heartrending Taiwanese productions.

【葉婉如、張哲鳴╱台北報導】金馬影帝柯俊雄以軍教片的將軍形象深植人心，昨因肺癌病逝三總，享壽70歲。「兄弟味」頗重的他個性好強愛面子，去年發病前期，家人還一直瞞著他，直到2015年5月，病情嚴重必須接受化療，他仍像個豪邁硬漢覺得自己身體還行，但10月27日最後1次公開露面參加國家電影中心修復電影活動時，說話聲音不再洪亮，外出須戴著口罩就怕病菌感染。
三總醫院昨不願證實柯俊雄的死訊。據院內人士透露，柯昨晚10時許（6日）不治，深夜11時許遺體送至三總懷德廳，今凌晨遺體送至殯儀館。
亞洲影展首位台灣影帝
柯俊雄原應拍攝民視新戲，卻因檢查出肺癌4期緊急住院治療，暫停所有工作。菸酒不拒的他除了2007年時因喝酒過量加上感冒，導致細菌感染，轉化變成「肝膿瘍」住院治療外，並未傳過過什麼嚴重的病痛。
柯俊雄2013年加入拍攝八點檔《風水世家》時也看不出有異，仍能跟劇組熬夜拍戲，菸也照抽，沒想到才殺青3個月，2014年就傳出罹癌噩耗。
柯俊雄本名柯俊良，以拍台語片出道，20歲時與中央電影公司簽約，拍了根據瓊瑤小說《啞妻》改編的《啞女情深》，玉樹臨風的模樣展開燦爛星途。23歲以《寂寞的十七歲》成為亞洲影展第1位台灣影帝，29歲又以《英烈千秋》的抗日名將張自忠將軍再奪亞洲影展影帝，演藝事業一帆風順。
除了揚威海外，柯俊雄也以《黃埔軍魂》、《一代梟雄──曹操》兩獲金馬影帝。在1970年代，他拍了多部愛國電影，《英烈千秋》、《梅花》、《八百壯士》部部膾炙人口。由於主要戲份幾乎在他身上，點綴的女星無不使出渾身解數才能讓觀眾留下印象，如《英烈千秋》中演他女兒的甄珍，一幕脫下身上毛衣流淚洗去家門上漢奸字眼的戲份畫龍點睛。而《八百壯士》除了演楊惠敏的林青霞，飾演他夫人的徐楓一場拿著電話哭著蹲下身軀的景象更令人動容。
執導助張艾嘉勇奪影后
柯俊雄的演藝成就當然不只如此，除了和所有當紅女星都合作過，他和張艾嘉演的《Z字特攻隊》，好萊塢巨星梅爾吉勃遜（Mel Gibson）特地來台拍攝，是當年的轟動話題和賣座大片，他執導、張艾嘉主演的《我的爺爺》，更一舉把張艾嘉推上金馬影后寶座。不過1999年他以《一代梟雄──曹操》奪金馬影帝，擊敗當年入圍的黃秋生、謝霆鋒、劉青雲，也引起一些質疑聲浪。
淡出電影圈後，柯俊雄從政於2004年選上第6屆立委，但2008年競選連任失敗，2011年他在電視圈復出，除了與好友王羽共同創立已籌備1年的「台北市武術指導技藝從業人員職業工會」，其餘作品都在民視，從《廉政英雄》、《父與子》到《風水世家》，2014年開拍戲劇《嫁妝》前，他因病發，家人代他請辭。

When Leung kills an especially corrupt guard and is sentenced to a firing squad, he learns that the "executed" convicts are actually used by the warden (Ko Chun-hsiung) as hitmen to assassinate untouchable criminals.

We just want to keep this as low profile as possible." Suen Kwai Hing's son told the media to call back tomorrow because he wants to take care of his father's passing before answering any questions. It is said Suen Kwai Hing's memorial will be held tonight and his funeral will be held tomorrow.
