G-20 protests may refer to:
Ian Tomlinson (7 February 1962 – 1 April 2009) was a newspaper vendor who collapsed and died in the City of London after being struck by a police officer during the 2009 G-20 summit protests. An inquest found that he had been unlawfully killed by the officer, Simon Harwood, a constable with London's Metropolitan Police Service. Harwood was later found not guilty of manslaughter, but was dismissed from the police service for gross misconduct.
The first autopsy had concluded that Tomlinson died of natural causes after suffering a heart attack. His death became controversial a week later when The Guardian published video that showed Harwood striking Tomlinson on the leg with a baton, then pushing him to the ground. The footage showed no provocation on Tomlinson's part; he was not a protester, and at the time he was struck was on his way home from work. He walked away after the incident, but collapsed and died minutes later.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) began a criminal inquiry, and further autopsies indicated that Tomlinson had died from internal bleeding caused by blunt force trauma to the abdomen, in association with cirrhosis of the liver. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided not to charge Harwood, because the disagreement between the first and later pathologists meant they could not show a causal link between the death and alleged assault. That position changed in 2011 when an inquest jury returned a verdict of unlawful killing; the CPS then charged Harwood with manslaughter. He was found not guilty in 2012 and dismissed from the service a few months later.
The Group of Twenty (also known as the G-20 or G20) is an international forum for the governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies. The members include 19 individual countries—Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States—along with the European Union (EU). The EU is represented by the European Commission and by the European Central Bank. The G-20 was founded in 1999 with the aim of studying, reviewing, and promoting high-level discussion of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability. It seeks to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization. Collectively, the G-20 economies account for around 85% of the gross world product (GWP), 80% of world trade (or, if excluding EU intra-trade, 75%), and two-thirds of the world population. The G-20 heads of government or heads of state have periodically conferred at summits since their initial meeting in 2008, and the group also hosts separate meetings of finance ministers and central bank governors.
The Camps for Climate Action are campaign gatherings (similar to peace camps) that take place to draw attention to, and act as a base for direct action against, major carbon emitters, as well as to develop ways to create a zero-carbon society. Camps are run on broadly anarchist principles - free to attend, supported by donations and with input from everyone in the community for the day-to-day operation of the camp. Initiated in the UK, camps have taken place in England at Drax power station, Heathrow Airport, Kingsnorth power station in Kent, the City of London and The Royal Bank of Scotland Headquarters, near Edinburgh. During 2009 camps also took place in Canada, Denmark, France, Ireland, Netherlands/Belgium, Scotland, Wales and Australia.
Camps are organised through the preceding year with a series of monthly meetings, previously held in Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Leeds, Bristol, London, and Talamnh (near Glasgow).
Much of the material used to create structures for the camp is reclaimed waste from building sites which would otherwise have been sent to a landfill. Compost toilets, comprehensive recycling, grey water systems and a pedal-powered laundries. The site of the camp is divided into loosely bounded 'neighbourhoods', most corresponding to geographic region (one exception being the queer neighbourhood of the 2006 camp). Daily consensus-based meetings are held in each neighbourhood, with spokespeople sent to a central meeting.

They were the most unlikely of troublemakers. There were thousands of ordinary citizens on the streets at Toronto G20 Summit marching peacefully until the police closed in and shut them down. Many had gone downtown simply to see what was going on, only to find themselves forcibly dragged away by police and locked up for hours in a makeshift detention center without timely access to lawyers or medical treatment. Since the G20 Summit in June of 2010 - the iconic images are still with us — burning police cars, rampaging mobs, the massive security presence that according to the official story is all that stood between Canada's largest city and chaos. But that’s not the whole story of Toronto’s G20. Astonishing images caught on camera are emerged and they exposed a troubling picture of what ha...
Toronto G20 protests Toronto 2010. Vandals burn Police cars, break windows and turn on the cameras. Some came downtown to protest about their right to protest; and some to break things for fun. There were protesters concerned about the unfair distribution of global wealth and corporate environmental terrorism, but I captured little of this side, apologies. In anticipation of protests and arrests during the upcoming G20 summit in Hamburg, the city's district court in Harburg has set up additional facilities to help manage large numbers of detention procedures. Unveiling the pop-up court on Monday, officials have equipped the site with several closed door rooms, many of which are intended to be used as offices and have already been equipped with desks and computers. The facilities are located nearby a police detention centre. The 12th G20 summit will be held in the city of Hamburg on July 7 and 8, and will see the participation of the leaders of 19 major economies and the EU. The following is a rough documentary of the events that unfolded during the Toronto G20 protest of June 2010. It mostly includes on the ground footage of the protest and rioting as it unfolds chronologically. A similar version of this was released before, but taken down due to a copyright claim. so for the record, here it is again.

Charity discusses profanities and expletives and her High Court case with Theo Chalmers, the UK Alt Media legend in 2009. I met Charity when I attended the G20 protest in London and heard this incredible story first hand. Mother and free speech activist, Charity was persecuted by the state for using the word 'Bollocks'. Quite apt in a way because she has bigger balls than most men you'll ever meet! Thanks to Edge Media and Theo Chalmers. A unique moment in British history
He talks about a meeting he just had with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the war in Syria and even the protest by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand during the playing of the national anthem in protest of the treatment of minorities in the United States.
