Theme or themes may refer to:
Theme music is a piece that is often written specifically for a radio program, television program, video game or movie, and usually played during the intro, during title sequence and/or ending credits.
The phrase theme song or signature tune may also be used to refer to a signature song that has become especially associated with a particular performer or dignitary; often used as they make an entrance. The purpose of a theme song is often similar to that of a leitmotif. Such songs can also be used in other ways. One author has made extensive use of them in an effort to explore the feelings behind world views.
The purpose of the music is to establish a mood for the show and to provide an audible cue that a particular show is beginning, which was especially useful in the early days of radio (See also interval signal). In some cases, including The Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, both versions of Land of the Lost (1974 and 1991), The Nanny and The Beverly Hillbillies the lyrics of the theme song provide some necessary exposition for people unfamiliar with the show.
Mortal Kombat is a video game franchise originally developed by Midway Games' Chicago studio in 1992. Following Midway's bankruptcy, the Mortal Kombat development team was acquired by Warner Bros. and turned into NetherRealm Studios. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment currently owns the rights of the franchise and rebooted it in 2011.
The development of the first game was originally based on an idea that Ed Boon and John Tobias had of making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but as that idea fell through, a fantasy-themed fighting game titled Mortal Kombat was created instead. The original game has spawned many sequels and has been spun off into several action-adventure games, films (animated and live-action with its own sequel), and television series (animated and live-action). Other spin-offs include comic book series, a card game and a live-action tour. Along with Capcom's Street Fighter and Bandai Namco's Tekken, Mortal Kombat has become one of the most successful fighting franchises in the history of video games.
Gladiator is the original soundtrack of the 2000 film of the same name. The original score and songs were composed by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard and were released in 2000, titled Gladiator: Music From the Motion Picture. The Lyndhurst Orchestra performing the score was conducted by Gavin Greenaway.
The album won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and was also nominated for the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Score ("Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music").
Well-reviewed by critics (popular score review sites Filmtracks, Moviewave, and Scorereviews all give it overall positive reviews) and fans (370 Amazon.com reviews with a 4.5 avg. rating) alike, this score has attained admirable commercial stock in the film music world. Not since James Horner's Titanic soundtrack (which sold millions) had a movie score been in such high demand.

I combined "Honor Him", "Elysium", and "Now We Are Free" into one song. This was pretty simple to do, the only editing required was to blend them together and rearrange "Elysium" and "Honor Him" and "Now We Are Free". Check out my channel for other super theme songs. I have had to take off comments due to teachers sending students here and students making inappropriate comments. THIS VIDEO IS FOR TEACHERS, NOT STUDENTS more on my blog: http://guidingontheside.blogspot.com/ Broken down into the cognitive steps, students can determine theme with the support of modelling and collaboration. This video shows the strategy for introducing the concept (even though kids in 8th grade were exposed WHAT theme is in prior years, I never assume they were taught HOW to figure it out). After doing this strategy with passing the paper and creating multiple themes, it is simply a matter of reminding students throughout the school year that in order to determine theme you just need to follow these basic steps.
Mortal Kombat: The Album is an album by The Immortals (Maurice Engelen aka Praga Khan and Oliver Adams best known for their work on the Techno/Industrial band Lords of Acid), released in 1994 to accompany the home versions of the video game Mortal Kombat. With all due respect, my personal opinion on Mortal Kombat is that it was/is the greatest fighting game of any generation. I would like to proclaim that I do NOT own any of the material produced in the video. This is only for entertainment purposes! There are different remixes of theme songs based on Mortal Kombat as well as other MK related things that are on this channel! Be sure to check them out!
