Good news! The missing Staffy has been reunited with his owner.
On Wednesday's blog we reported on a lost Staffy who jumped on an Upfield train bound for the city about 8.30am after milling about Anstey station.
A good samaritan offered to take the dog to the Lost Dog's Home, but when we checked with the Home earlier the Staffy had not been brought in.
We were a bit worried, but just got some good news via Facebook: "The staffy on the train was reuinted with his owner on Wednesday."
It's nice to wind up the blog for the week with some good news!
How did you go with today's Mystery Melbourne. I was rather mischievous with this one.

Photo editor Leigh Henningham tells me that this guy has figured out a way to beat the morning traffic.
Metro says there are delays up to 14 minutes between Frankston and Caulfield because of an earlier faulty train at Carrum and a faulty signal near Seaford.
Presumably the train at Carrum is responsible for seven of those minutes and the signal at Seaford the other seven. It's interesting that Metro are getting so precise with the number of minutes in the delays - normally they go up in multiples of five.
There are also delays on other lines. Metro says passengers between Dandenong and Cranbourne are facing delays of eight minutes, while in the Altona Loop buses are replacing trains.
It's our resident weatherman Mic Looby's last weather report this morning. He is leaving The Age today.
He finishes with an undefeated 1-0 record against the Bureau of Meteorology when it comes to calling the day's weather. (They tipped it would rain one day last month, he said it wouldn't, it didn't rain, Mic won and the bureau slunk away to lick their wounds).
He has also had the unenviable task of checking through the blog most mornings and making sure I haven't committed any crimes against proper spelling and grammar in my 6am uncaffeinated haze. (In one memorable exchange he said to me "you have spelled shepherd in different ways twice in once sentence, and both spellings are wrong"). He will be missed.

Have you seen this dog?
On Wednesday's blog we reported on a lost Staffy who jumped on an Upfield train bound for the city about 8.30am after milling about Anstey station.
Reader Ryan La Roche saw the whole thing unfold and told us a woman on the train offered to take the pup to the Lost Dogs' Home and got off at Macaulay Station with it.
Well, it looks like the pup never made it. According to the Lost Dogs' Home, the Staffy girl was never brought in.
Needless to say, we're keen to know what became of the pup with the watermelon bandanna and speak to the woman who took her. Has she been reunited with her owners? Is she safe?
I've posted in the blog about a boat that was left on the road. Meanwhile, a rather distinctive chair has been left on a median strip in Albert Park.

People seem to be having some trouble with today's Mystery Melbourne.
I thought that was rather surprising given this photo is of one of Melbourne's most recognisable landmarks.
Let me know if you've solved it.
Route 48 trams towards North Balwyn are delayed because of a collision on High Street, Yarra Trams reports.
Reviewer Jake Wilson rather enjoyed Wonder Woman and has given it three stars. That might sound quite lukewarm, but he is a rather harsh marker, so three stars is positively glowing.
He writes: "What's best about the film can be summed up in two words: Gal Gadot. This much could have been predicted after Gadot's brief but attention-grabbing appearance as Diana in Batman V Superman, where she had no trouble stealing attention from the dour leads."

This photo was sent to me by mum as something to use in the blog. She was driving along the Western Port Highway last weekend when she came across this boat, which had been left in the middle of the road. She said police had to be called to tow it away.
So if you were driving along the Western Port Highway last weekend with your boat in tow, and found the boat had gone missing by the time you reached your destination, this might be your boat.
The 7:00am Frankston to Flinders Street has been cancelled because of a faulty train.

A Bundoora home has been destroyed in a massive blaze overnight which threatened two other properties.
Firefighters were called to the Cheadle Crescent house about 8pm after fire broke out in the garage and spread to the home. They were unable to save it.
"The fire was so intense that the second storey of the house collapsed during firefighting operations," MFB fire service controller David Rankin said.

There's some clarity from Metro on the delays on the Werribee line. There are delays of up to 10 minutes because of a signal equipment fault near Newport.
Werribee services are running direct between Newport and Laverton, with replacement buses on the Altona loop.
Metro had earlier stated buses would "supplement trains" on the Loop, which made it sound like buses and trains would be sharing the passenger load.
