During the year 1985, an era of turmoil in Punjab, an army officer Nihal Singh (Jimmy Shergill) falls in love with a local village girl named Prasinn Kaur (Kulraj Randhawa). Their romance ultimately leads to a marriage because Nihal's unit is dispatched to Siachen Glacier and he has to leave his pregnant wife under the care of his neighbours. However, due to an unfortunate incident, Prasinn dies after giving birth to a baby girl. Her neighbour, who is desperate to become a mother steals the child. Nihal Singh is sentenced to life imprisonment. After completing the sentence he decides to search his daughter. Will he find her?

Married life becomes a burden for Mannat. She is expected to give birth to a son and being the only educated woman in the family, she has to deal with illiterate women of the house. Moreover, she tries to convince her husband that it’s just a myth, and this kind of curse doesn’t exist. She gives him positive hopes that he would have a long life, while keeping her ex love in heart.
The story takes a drastic twist when Mannat is unable to give birth and her husband is about to turn twenty seven.
What would be the last resort for Mannat to save her husband? Will the curse affect the last man of the house as well? Will she be able to save her family from the curse, or will she make her own life easy by going back to her love?

Mannat
Mannat (Eng: Wish) is a Punjabi Film directed by Gurbir Singh Grewal. This movie is produced by famous Bollywood producer, Anuradha Prasad. Film is distributed by B.A.G. Films. It was released in October 2006. It stars Jimmy Shergill, Kulraj Randhawa, Manav Vij and Kanwaljit Singh. It was debut film of Kulraj Randhawa, a famous TV actress and it is the second Punjabi Film of Jimmy Shergill, after Yaaran naal baharan.
Plot overview
During the year 1985, reminiscent of an era of turmoil in Punjab, an army officer (Nihal Singh) falls in love with a local village girl named Prasinn Kaur. Their romance ultimately leads to a marriage but the fate has tragedy in store for them. Nihal's unit is dispatched to Siachen Glacier and he has to leave his pregnant wife under the care of a couple who are his neighbours. However, due to an unfortunate incident, Prasinn dies after giving birth to a baby girl. Her neighbour, who is desperate to become a mother steals the child. From here the misery of the army officer starts. A twist in the story sends him to prison for serving a life term. After completing the sentence his search for his daughter starts again. This story is all about love, passion, hatred, betrayal and romance. Motivated from a true incident, which the director came across in 1996, the film brings out various facts of human behavior in a true Punjabi flavour and spirit.

Har Pal
Har Pal (English: Every Moment) is an unreleased Indian film directed by art cinema director Jahnu Barua, who previously directed the critically acclaimed Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara (2005). The film stars Preity Zinta, Shiney Ahuja and Isha Koppikar in leading roles. Dharmendra appears in a supporting role as Zinta's father. The film relates the love story between two neighbours, played by Zinta and Ahuja, who are paired together on-screen for the first time.
Production
Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja were Jahnu Barua's first choices for the leading roles. Initially, Dipannita Sharma was supposed to play the supporting role of Zinta's room mate, but was later replaced by Isha Koppikar.Amitabh Bachchan was also supposed to make a role in the film as Zinta's father, but he later opted out due to date problems. Bachchan was subsequently replaced by Dharmendra, after Zinta, who was looking for an opportunity to work with him, had suggested his name.Dino Morea makes a special appearance in a song composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

Khuda Aur Muhabbat
Khuda Aur Muhabbat (Urdu: خدا اور محبت, English: God & Love) is a 2011 Pakistani drama serial that aired on Geo TV. It is written by Hashim Nadeem Syed and directed by Anjum Shehzad. Imran Abbas Naqvi and Sadia Khan are featured as the lead role while Faisal Fazila Qazi, Ahmed Jahanzeb, and Firdous Jamal portray supporting roles.
This drama serial is based on the Gujarati Muslims culture. The Muslim girls have to obey their parents and respect them. The drama is inspired from the novel of the same name, also written by Hashim Nadeem. Khuda aur Muhabbat is his first novel which is being televised for a private TV channel. The novel is critically acclaimed. It is considered as one of the best dramas serials in Pakistan.
The drama is one of the most watched dramas on YouTube all over the world.

Plot: After the Indian Government ordered troops into the Soni Darbar in Amritsar, angering Sikhs worldwide, leading to the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during 1984, followed by violence against the Sikhs, and instructions to Police to hunt down and apprehend all suspected terrorists. Karnail Singh was one such suspect, who claims that he has had no hand in any terrorism activity, but is nevertheless pursued by the Police, leaving his widowed mom, Kartar, and sister, Parsan, to fend for themselves by running a Dhaba and being subjected to harassment at the hands of Inspector Ujagar Singh, while the village Mukhiya wants Parsan to get married to a much older Narang Singh. Parsan's problems are resolved when Indian Army Captain Nihal Singh intervenes, and marries her, even though her mom, beaten senseless by the Police, passes away on the day of the marriage. Months later, Nihal must re-locate to Siachen, leaving behind a pregnant Parsan. Once in Siachen, he gets news that Parsan has been attacked and is hospitalized. Since Siachen is isolated due to a heavy snowstorm, he can only return home after several days, and is told that Parsan has passed away, and his new-born daughter has been abducted by his neighbors, Sukhwant Kaur, and Mandeep Singh. Nihal's attempts to locate the couple are all in vain, and things get worse when the Station House Officer is transferred and the new incumbent, his arch-enemy, Ujagar, refuses to locate his daughter. Nihal confronts Ujagar, arguments and fisticuffs ensue, resulting in Ujagar's death. Nihal is arrested, stripped off of his uniform, tried in Court, found guilty, and sentenced to 20 years in jail - and may never be reunited with his daughter.

#Mannat belongs to a lower middle class family and is raised by her uncle. Her Uncle sells her to a well of family by getting her married to the only male in that family. The rest of the family comprises only of widows. The poor orphan girl who is already in love with someone is now married to a man with a curse
This family curse is, that all the men of the family die as soon they turn twenty-seven. Mannat’s husband is about to turn 25. The widows get him married before he turns twenty-five, so that the birth of his son can save the family name. The curse comes as a shock for Mannat on the wedding day.
Married life becomes a burden for Mannat. She is expected to give birth to a son and being the only educated woman in the family, she has to deal with illiterate women of the house. Moreover, she tries to convince her husband that it’s just a myth, and this kind of curse doesn’t exist. She gives him positive hopes that he would have a long life, while keeping her ex love in heart.
The story takes a drastic twist when Mannat is unable to give birth and her husband is about to turn twenty seven.
