Imran Farooq murder case
ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday directed an anti-terrorism court (ATC) to continue with the trial of Imran Farooq murder suspect Mohsin Ali Syed.
The IHC division bench, comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, while hearing in this matter, observed that the court did not issue any stay order in this matter, and ATC may continue with the trial.
In this particular matter, Imran Farooq murder suspect Mohsin Ali Syed has been seeking from the court to remove terrorism charges from his case and also to end his jail trial. The trial ATC on March 9 had dismissed his application, and he then filed an appeal before the IHC.
In Wednesday’s proceedings, legal counsel for Mohsin Ali, Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar, argued before the court that due to non-adjudication of this matter, the proceedings before the trial court were getting affected.
At this, the IHC bench said that they did not issue any stay order. The IHC bench directed the trial court to continue with the trial and adjourned the matter with date in office.
