"My, My, My" is a number-one R&B single by Johnny Gill. As the second single from Gill's second self-titled album, the hit song, with backing vocals performed by After 7, spent two weeks at number-one on the US R&B chart, and made the number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was also Gill's only song to reach the Adult Contemporary singles chart, where it peaked at #32. In 1991 the song won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single, Male. It's also known to be Johnny Gill's signature song. This song is listed as BMI Work #1039724.
In 1990, saxophonist Gerald Albright covered the song for the album Dream Come True.
"My My My" is a song by producer/DJ Armand Van Helden. The song contains a sample of the song "Comin' Apart" by Gary Wright. The track was produced in 2004 and included on the album Nympho. It is also featured in the video game Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 by Konami as a licensed track under the house music genre at 128 BPM. An alternative version of "My My My" featuring the vocals of Tara McDonald was released in 2006 and became a hit single that year.
The music video features a dream sequence of a 'geeky' man, who is sunbathing on the beach and wearing a raincoat and orange speedos. He spots a young woman in her bikini on a beach house behind him, and she invites him into the house, into an all-girl's party. Many shots and the setting are resemblant to Aphex Twin's Windowlicker video. At the end of the video the viewer finds out that he was daydreaming and that when they think that he was kissing a girl he was actually kissing his dog.
The same beach house was used for the Bear Hug video by The 2 Bears.
