El reconocido director televisivo británico Charles McDougall, que tuvo a su cargo capítulos de afamadas series como "Amas de casa desesperadas", "House of Cards" y "Sex and the City" brindó una clase magistral en el Centro Cultural Kirchner.
En un diálogo con Télam, el cineasta jujeño Miguel Pereira, presidente de Radio y Televisión Argentina (RTA), explicó que "El Mentor" es la primer producción argentina donde participa este afamado director, que ha dirigido series de que ya son de "culto" como "House of cards", "Sex and the city" y "Amas de casa desesperadas", entre otras.
"Este taller -explicó Pereira- está destinado a jóvenes estudiantes de cine o de medios de comunicación de toda la Argentina, por lo que hemos realizado una convocatoria federal en la cual serán seleccionados ocho participantes para que puedan venir a Capital Federal a reunirse con Mac Dougall y realizar un cortometraje cada uno de ellos".
Del encuentro entre los seleccionados y el director británico se producirá un reality show donde podrá verse todas las experiencias que vivan estos estudiantes durante el proceso de realización de los cortometrajes de cada uno de ellos.
Cada capítulo narrará la producción de uno de los postulantes, el rodaje de estos cortos será seguido por cámaras externas que irán registrando todo el proceso creativo y de producción de los jóvenes.
Además Pereira resaltó la importancia del carácter federal del programa al señalar que "la realización del cortometraje es casi una excusa, ya que le pedimos a cada postulante que realice la propuesta creativa en dos minutos de grabación, que puede ser con una cámara profesional o con el teléfono celular, pero que tenga que ver con su ciudad, su provincia o su región, que es lo que les gustaría hacer a ellos en sus lugares para mejorar las condiciones de vida, una vez que se realice el programa, va a ser la misma gente de todo el país la que vote y elija al ganador, el premio consistirá en que el ganador pueda volver a su localidad a rodar el mediometraje que nos planteó en la primera instancia"..

El 12 de Noviembre a las 20hs llega a la pantalla de la TV Pública "El Mentor Reality", una producción del Sistema Federal de Medios y Contenidos Públicos y RTA S.E..
Los seleccionados participan de un taller intensivo de 10 días a cargo de Charles McDougall, afamado, prestigioso y premiado director, productor y guionista de la industria audiovisual inglesa y norteamericana, que ha dirigido distintas series de televisión populares como House of Cards, Reino unido (Queer as Folk), Sex and the City, Los Tudor, The Office, The Good Wife y Amas de casa desesperadas (Desperate Housewives) por la que ganó un Emmy como mejor director. Como director de cine, su obra más destacada es "Sunday", basada en los hechos ocurridos en Irlanda del Norte, el 30 de enero de 1972, cuando cerca de veinte personas desarmadas fueron asesinadas por fuerzas paracaidistas británicas durante una manifestación a favor de los derechos humanos.

En un diálogo con Télam, el cineasta jujeño Miguel Pereira, presidente de Radio y Televisión Argentina (RTA), explicó que esta "El Mentor" es la primer producción argentina donde participa este afamado director, que ha dirigido series de que ya son de "culto" como "House of cards", "Sex and the city" y "Amas de casa desesperadas", entre otras.

"Esta forma de selección -dijo el funcionario- tiene que ver con los postulados que se ha propuesto el Sistema Federal de Medios Públicos, como es un nuevo ministerio que están haciendo, integrado por distintas empresas, nosotros decidimos producir un programa donde de alguna manera uniéramos el interior con el exterior, invitando a una figura muy reconocida de Hollywood, que se conoce por las series que ha dirigido, producido o guionado, se trata de el director británico Charles Mc Dougall".
Pereira indicó que de esa manera "la Televisión Pública Argentina y el Sistema Federal de Medios le abre una ventana al mundo, comenzando a integrarse con otro tipo de programación, trayendo personajes de nivel internacional y a su vez se le permite a los jóvenes de todo el país poder mostrar sus realizaciones".
El funcionario cree en la necesidad de que el servicio de la televisión pública argentina "amplíe las voces, replicando cada vez más a los habitantes de todo el territorio nacional, como ejemplo de ello es la incorporación de periodistas del interior del país en los contenidos que ha comenzado a ofrecer la pantalla pública".
"La RTA debe cumplir una función institucional estratégica que ayude a colocar a la Televisión Pública al lado, de las demás televisiones públicas del mundo, por eso estamos haciendo algunos contactos y teniendo conversaciones, en procura de lograr proyectos de coproducción", concluyó el director de "La Deuda Interna".
El 22 de agosto en la sala La Ballena Azul del CCK Mc Dougall ofrecerá una clase magistral, que estará dirigida a todos aquellos que estén interesados en oír la palabra del realizador.

Jimmy McGovern, one of the UK’s most celebrated television screenwriters, discusses his passion for people, his politics and what makes a great screenplay.
McGovern cut his teeth working on Brookside (1982-1988), writing many plotlines tackling tough social and political issues over the course of his six-year stint. Next he created Cracker (1994), one of the most complex and sympathetic characters ever seen on the small screen, vividly portrayed by Robbie Coltrane. Cracker set the tone for McGovern’s future work, which although dramatically different, bear similarities in their mix of unflinching social commentary and compelling drama. It was the first of his work to earn McGovern a BAFTA nod (for Drama Series, with Gub Neal in 1994), and he would be nominated a further eight times in various categories. His BAFTA wins include Hillsborough for Single Drama in 1997 (with Nicola Shindler, Charles McDougall and Katy Jones); and two for The Street for Drama Series in 2007 and 2008 (with Sita Williams, Terry McDonough, John Chapman, David Blair and Ken Horn). He was presented with BAFTA’s Dennis Potter Award in 1995.

Sunday is a television drama, produced by Sunday Productions for Channel 4 and screened on 25 January 2002. It dramatises the events of "Bloody Sunday" through the eyes of the families of the dead and injured, specifically those of Leo Young, older brother to John Young, who was killed on the day. The timescale covers events in the years prior to Bloody Sunday, and subsequent events up to and including the Widgery Tribunal.
It was written by Jimmy McGovern and directed by Charles McDougall, and the Channel 4 transmission was followed by a live studio debate about the issues involved. It was overshadowed by the rival Bloody Sunday, shown eight days previously by ITV.
While the ITV's Bloody Sunday filmed most of its scenes in Ballymun in Dublin, Sunday filmed the majority of its scenes in Derry itself. Streets and areas where the actual events of Bloody Sunday happened were used by the production team, such as William Street, Creggan, Craigavon Bridge and Harvey Street, where in the now well-known scene of Father Edward Daly (now retired Bishop of Derry) was filmed waving a blood stained handkerchief escorting men carrying one of the victims, Jackie Duddy.

Charles McDougall is a British Emmy Award and BAFTA-winning director.
Biography
McDougall has directed for popular television series which include the pilot episode of ABC's Desperate Housewives (which includes the unaired pilot as well). McDougall has also directed episodes of Queer as Folk on Channel 4 and Sex and the City on HBO. McDougall directed the first two episodes of the US TV Series The Tudors as well as an episode of Good Behavior. He won an Emmy for Best Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on Desperate Housewives.
McDougall was an executive producer and director for the pilot episode of The Good Wife. Penned by Robert King and Michelle King (In Justice) the legal drama focuses on a politician’s wife (Julianna Margulies) who carves out her own niche as a defense attorney. The Kings and McDougall are executive producing with Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and David Zucker.

Form of the Good
Plato describes "The Form of the Good", or more literally "the idea of the good" (ἡ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ ἰδέα), in his dialogue the Republic (508e2–3), speaking through the character of Socrates. Plato introduces several forms in his works, but identifies the Form of the Good as the superlative. This form is the one that allows a philosopher-in-training to advance to a philosopher-king. It cannot be clearly seen or explained, but once it is recognized, it is the form that allows one to realize all the other forms.
Usages in The Republic
The first references we see in The Republic to the Form of the Good can be found within the conversation between Glaucon and Socrates (454 c–d). When trying to answer such difficult questions pertaining to the definition of justice, Plato identifies that we should not “introduce every form of difference and sameness in nature” instead we must focus “on the one form of sameness and difference that was relevant to the particular ways of life themselves” which is the Form of the Good. This Form is the basis for understanding all other Forms, it is what allows us to understand everything else. Through the conversation between Socrates and Glaucon (508 a–c) Plato analogizes the Form of the Good with the sun as it is what allows us to see things. Here, Plato describes how the sun allows for sight. But he makes a very important distinction, “sun is not sight” but it is “the cause of sight itself.” As the sun is in the visible realm, the Form of Good is in the intelligible realm. It is “what gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower”. It is not only the “cause of knowledge and truth, it is also an object of knowledge”.

Jimmy McGovern
James Stanley "Jimmy" McGovern (born September 1949 in Liverpool, Merseyside) is an English screenwriter and producer. He created the television series Cracker (1993-1995), a popular and critical success in the UK, for which he received two Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. He has also received recognition for The Lakes, The Street and Accused, among others.
Early life
McGovern was one of nine children born to working-class Irish Catholic parents, William McGovern and Jane Warner. He had a stammer until the age of eight. He attended a Jesuit secondary school, St Francis Xavier's College in Liverpool. Feeling that the teachers did not recognise his talent, he left as soon as he could.
He taught for a time in a secondary comprehensive school, where he organised the end-of-school play.
Television writing career
In 1982, McGovern started his TV career working on Channel 4's soap opera Brookside. He tackled many social issues in the course of the series, especially unemployment – which was at a postwar high at the time.

Charles
Charles is a masculine given name from the French form Charles of a Germanic name Karl. The original Anglo-Saxon was Ċearl or Ċeorl, as the name of king Cearl of Mercia, that disappeared after the Norman conquest of England.
The corresponding Old Norse form is Karl, the German form is also Karl. The name was notably borne by Charlemagne (Charles the Great), and was at the time Latinized as Karolus (as in Vita Karoli Magni), later also as Carolus.
Etymology
The name's etymology is a Common Germanic noun *karlaz meaning "free man", which survives in English as churl (< Old English ċeorl), which developed its deprecating sense in the Middle English period.

According to Julius Pokorny, the historical linguist and Indo-Europeanist, the root meaning of Karl is "old man", from Indo-European *ĝer-, where the ĝ is a palatal consonant, meaning "to rub; to be old; grain." An old man has been worn away and is now grey with age.

En un diálogo con Télam, el cineasta jujeño Miguel Pereira, presidente de Radio y Televisión Argentina (RTA), explicó que esta "El Mentor" es la primer producción argentina donde participa este afamado director, que ha dirigido series de que ya son de "culto" como "House of cards", "Sex and the city" y "Amas de casa desesperadas", entre otras. "Este taller -explicó Pereira- está destinado a jóvenes estudiantes de cine o de medios de comunicación de toda la Argentina, por lo que hemos realizado una convocatoria federal en la cual serán seleccionados ocho participantes para que puedan venir a Capital Federal a reunirse con Mac Dougall y realizar un cortometraje cada uno de ellos". Del encuentro entre los seleccionados y el director británico se producirá un reality show donde podrá verse todas las experiencias que vivan estos estudiantes durante el proceso de realización de los cortometrajes de cada uno de ellos. Cada capítulo narrará la producción de uno de los postulantes, el rodaje de estos cortos será seguido por cámaras externas que irán registrando todo el proceso creativo y de producción de los jóvenes. Además Pereira resaltó la importancia del carácter federal del programa al señalar que "la realización del cortometraje es casi una excusa, ya que le pedimos a cada postulante que realice la propuesta creativa en dos minutos de grabación, que puede ser con una cámara profesional o con el teléfono celular, pero que tenga que ver con su ciudad, su provincia o su región, que es lo que les gustaría hacer a ellos en sus lugares para mejorar las condiciones de vida, una vez que se realice el programa, va a ser la misma gente de todo el país la que vote y elija al ganador, el premio consistirá en que el ganador pueda volver a su localidad a rodar el mediometraje que nos planteó en la primera instancia". "Esta forma de selección -dijo el funcionario- tiene que ver con los postulados que se ha propuesto el Sistema Federal de Medios Públicos, como es un nuevo ministerio que están haciendo, integrado por distintas empresas, nosotros decidimos producir un programa donde de alguna manera uniéramos el interior con el exterior, invitando a una figura muy reconocida de Hollywood, que se conoce por las series que ha dirigido, producido o guionado, se trata de el director británico Charles Mc Dougall". Pereira indicó que de esa manera "la Televisión Pública Argentina y el Sistema Federal de Medios le abre una ventana al mundo, comenzando a integrarse con otro tipo de programación, trayendo personajes de nivel internacional y a su vez se le permite a los jóvenes de todo el país poder mostrar sus realizaciones". El funcionario cree en la necesidad de que el servicio de la televisión pública argentina "amplíe las voces, replicando cada vez más a los habitantes de todo el territorio nacional, como ejemplo de ello es la incorporación de periodistas del interior del país en los contenidos que ha comenzado a ofrecer la pantalla pública". "La RTA debe cumplir una función institucional estratégica que ayude a colocar a la Televisión Pública al lado, de las demás televisiones públicas del mundo, por eso estamos haciendo algunos contactos y teniendo conversaciones, en procura de lograr proyectos de coproducción", concluyó el director de "La Deuda Interna". El 22 de agosto en la sala La Ballena Azul del CCK Mc Dougall ofrecerá una clase magistral, que estará dirigida a todos aquellos que estén interesados en oír la palabra del realizador. Jimmy McGovern, one of the UK’s most celebrated television screenwriters, discusses his passion for people, his politics and what makes a great screenplay. McGovern cut his teeth working on Brookside (1982-1988), writing many plotlines tackling tough social and political issues over the course of his six-year stint. Next he created Cracker (1994), one of the most complex and sympathetic characters ever seen on the small screen, vividly portrayed by Robbie Coltrane. Cracker set the tone for McGovern’s future work, which although dramatically different, bear similarities in their mix of unflinching social commentary and compelling drama. It was the first of his work to earn McGovern a BAFTA nod (for Drama Series, with Gub Neal in 1994), and he would be nominated a further eight times in various categories. debate following the Channel 4 showing of Sunday, presented by John Snow. Sunday is a television drama, produced by Sunday Productions for Channel 4 and screened on 25 January 2002. It dramatises the events of "Bloody Sunday" through the eyes of the families of the dead and injured, specifically those of Leo Young, older brother to John Young, who was killed on the day. The timescale covers events in the years prior to Bloody Sunday, and subsequent events up to and including the Widgery Tribunal. It was written by Jimmy McGovern and directed by Charles McDougall, and the Channel 4 transmission was followed by a live studio debate about the issues involved. It was overshadowed by the rival Bloody Sunday, shown eight days previously by ITV. While the ITV's Bloody Sunday filmed most of its scenes in Ballymun in Dublin, Sunday filmed the majority of its scenes in Derry itself. Streets and areas where the actual events of Bloody Sunday happened were used by the production team, such as William Street, Creggan, Craigavon Bridge and Harvey Street, where in the now well-known scene of Father Edward Daly (now retired Bishop of Derry) was filmed waving a blood stained handkerchief escorting men carrying one of the victims, Jackie Duddy. -

El reconocido director televisivo británico Charles McDougall, que tuvo a su cargo capítulos de afamadas series como "Amas de casa desesperadas", "House of Cards" y "Sex and the City" brindó una clase magistral en el Centro Cultural Kirchner.
En un diálogo con Télam, el cineasta jujeño Miguel Pereira, presidente de Radio y Televisión Argentina (RTA), explicó que "El Mentor" es la primer producción argentina donde participa este afamado director, que ha dirigido series de que ya son de "culto" como "House of cards", "Sex and the city" y "Amas de casa desesperadas", entre otras.
"Este taller -explicó Pereira- está destinado a jóvenes estudiantes de cine o de medios de comunicación de toda la Argentina, por lo que hemos realizado una convocatoria federal en la cual serán seleccionados ocho participantes para que puedan venir a Capital Federal a reunirse con Mac Dougall y realizar un cortometraje cada uno de ellos".
Del encuentro entre los seleccionados y el director británico se producirá un reality show donde podrá verse todas las experiencias que vivan estos estudiantes durante el proceso de realización de los cortometrajes de cada uno de ellos.
Cada capítulo narrará la producción de uno de los postulantes, el rodaje de estos cortos será seguido por cámaras externas que irán registrando todo el proceso creativo y de producción de los jóvenes.
Además Pereira resaltó la importancia del carácter federal del programa al señalar que "la realización del cortometraje es casi una excusa, ya que le pedimos a cada postulante que realice la propuesta creativa en dos minutos de grabación, que puede ser con una cámara profesional o con el teléfono celular, pero que tenga que ver con su ciudad, su provincia o su región, que es lo que les gustaría hacer a ellos en sus lugares para mejorar las condiciones de vida, una vez que se realice el programa, va a ser la misma gente de todo el país la que vote y elija al ganador, el premio consistirá en que el ganador pueda volver a su localidad a rodar el mediometraje que nos planteó en la primera instancia"..

Como director de cine, su obra más destacada es "Sunday", basada en los hechos ocurridos en Irlanda del Norte, el 30 de enero de 1972, cuando cerca de veinte personas desarmadas fueron asesinadas por fuerzas paracaidistas británicas durante una manifestación a favor de los derechos humanos.

"Esta forma de selección -dijo el funcionario- tiene que ver con los postulados que se ha propuesto el Sistema Federal de Medios Públicos, como es un nuevo ministerio que están haciendo, integrado por distintas empresas, nosotros decidimos producir un programa donde de alguna manera uniéramos el interior con el exterior, invitando a una figura muy reconocida de Hollywood, que se conoce por las series que ha dirigido, producido o guionado, se trata de el director británico Charles Mc Dougall".
Pereira indicó que de esa manera "la Televisión Pública Argentina y el Sistema Federal de Medios le abre una ventana al mundo, comenzando a integrarse con otro tipo de programación, trayendo personajes de nivel internacional y a su vez se le permite a los jóvenes de todo el país poder mostrar sus realizaciones".
El funcionario cree en la necesidad de que el servicio de la televisión pública argentina "amplíe las voces, replicando cada vez más a los habitantes de todo el territorio nacional, como ejemplo de ello es la incorporación de periodistas del interior del país en los contenidos que ha comenzado a ofrecer la pantalla pública".
"La RTA debe cumplir una función institucional estratégica que ayude a colocar a la Televisión Pública al lado, de las demás televisiones públicas del mundo, por eso estamos haciendo algunos contactos y teniendo conversaciones, en procura de lograr proyectos de coproducción", concluyó el director de "La Deuda Interna".
El 22 de agosto en la sala La Ballena Azul del CCK Mc Dougall ofrecerá una clase magistral, que estará dirigida a todos aquellos que estén interesados en oír la palabra del realizador.

Jimmy McGovern, one of the UK’s most celebrated television screenwriters, discusses his passion for people, his politics and what makes a great screenplay.
McGovern cut his teeth working on Brookside (1982-1988), writing many plotlines tackling tough social and political issues over the course of his six-year stint. Sunday is a television drama, produced by Sunday Productions for Channel 4 and screened on 25 January 2002. It dramatises the events of "Bloody Sunday" through the eyes of the families of the dead and injured, specifically those of Leo Young, older brother to John Young, who was killed on the day. The timescale covers events in the years prior to Bloody Sunday, and subsequent events up to and including the Widgery Tribunal.
It was written by Jimmy McGovern and directed by Charles McDougall, and the Channel 4 transmission was followed by a live studio debate about the issues involved. It was overshadowed by the rival Bloody Sunday, shown eight days previously by ITV.
While the ITV's Bloody Sunday filmed most of its scenes in Ballymun in Dublin, Sunday filmed the majority of its scenes in Derry itself. Streets and areas where the actual events of Bloody Sunday happened were used by the production team, such as William Street, Creggan, Craigavon Bridge and Harvey Street, where in the now well-known scene of Father Edward Daly (now retired Bishop of Derry) was filmed waving a blood stained handkerchief escorting men carrying one of the victims, Jackie Duddy.

El reconocido director televisivo británico Charles McDougall, que tuvo a su cargo capítulos de afamadas series como "Amas de casa desesperadas", "House of Cards" y "Sex and the City" brindó una clase magistral en el Centro Cultural Kirchner.
En un diálogo con Télam, el cineasta jujeño Miguel Pereira, presidente de Radio y Televisión Argentina (RTA), explicó que "El Mentor" es la primer producción argentina donde participa este afamado director, que ha dirigido series de que ya son de "culto" como "House of cards", "Sex and the city" y "Amas de casa desesperadas", entre otras.
"Este taller -explicó Pereira- está destinado a jóvenes estudiantes de cine o de medios de comunicación de toda la Argentina, por lo que hemos realizado una convocatoria federal en la cual serán seleccionados ocho participantes para que puedan venir a Capital Federal a reunirse con Mac Dougall y realizar un cortometraje cada uno de ellos".
Del encuentro entre los seleccionados y el director británico se producirá un reality show donde podrá verse todas las experiencias que vivan estos estudiantes durante el proceso de realización de los cortometrajes de cada uno de ellos.
Cada capítulo narrará la producción de uno de los postulantes, el rodaje de estos cortos será seguido por cámaras externas que irán registrando todo el proceso creativo y de producción de los jóvenes.
Además Pereira resaltó la importancia del carácter federal del programa al señalar que "la realización del cortometraje es casi una excusa, ya que le pedimos a cada postulante que realice la propuesta creativa en dos minutos de grabación, que puede ser con una cámara profesional o con el teléfono celular, pero que tenga que ver con su ciudad, su provincia o su región, que es lo que les gustaría hacer a ellos en sus lugares para mejorar las condiciones de vida, una vez que se realice el programa, va a ser la misma gente de todo el país la que vote y elija al ganador, el premio consistirá en que el ganador pueda volver a su localidad a rodar el mediometraje que nos planteó en la primera instancia"..

"Esta forma de selección -dijo el funcionario- tiene que ver con los postulados que se ha propuesto el Sistema Federal de Medios Públicos, como es un nuevo ministerio que están haciendo, integrado por distintas empresas, nosotros decidimos producir un programa donde de alguna manera uniéramos el interior con el exterior, invitando a una figura muy reconocida de Hollywood, que se conoce por las series que ha dirigido, producido o guionado, se trata de el director británico Charles Mc Dougall".
Pereira indicó que de esa manera "la Televisión Pública Argentina y el Sistema Federal de Medios le abre una ventana al mundo, comenzando a integrarse con otro tipo de programación, trayendo personajes de nivel internacional y a su vez se le permite a los jóvenes de todo el país poder mostrar sus realizaciones".
El funcionario cree en la necesidad de que el servicio de la televisión pública argentina "amplíe las voces, replicando cada vez más a los habitantes de todo el territorio nacional, como ejemplo de ello es la incorporación de periodistas del interior del país en los contenidos que ha comenzado a ofrecer la pantalla pública".
"La RTA debe cumplir una función institucional estratégica que ayude a colocar a la Televisión Pública al lado, de las demás televisiones públicas del mundo, por eso estamos haciendo algunos contactos y teniendo conversaciones, en procura de lograr proyectos de coproducción", concluyó el director de "La Deuda Interna".
El 22 de agosto en la sala La Ballena Azul del CCK Mc Dougall ofrecerá una clase magistral, que estará dirigida a todos aquellos que estén interesados en oír la palabra del realizador.

Además Pereira resaltó la importancia del carácter federal del programa al señalar que "la realización del cortometraje es casi una excusa, ya que le pedimos a cada postulante que realice la propuesta creativa en dos minutos de grabación, que puede ser con una cámara profesional o con el teléfono celular, pero que tenga que ver con su ciudad, su provincia o su región, que es lo que les gustaría hacer a ellos en sus lugares para mejorar las condiciones de vida, una vez que se realice el programa, va a ser la misma gente de todo el país la que vote y elija al ganador, el premio consistirá en que el ganador pueda volver a su localidad a rodar el mediometraje que nos planteó en la primera instancia".
"Esta forma de selección -dijo el funcionario- tiene que ver con los postulados que se ha propuesto el Sistema Federal de Medios Públicos, como es un nuevo ministerio que están haciendo, integrado por distintas empresas, nosotros decidimos producir un programa donde de alguna manera uniéramos el interior con el exterior, invitando a una figura muy reconocida de Hollywood, que se conoce por las series que ha dirigido, producido o guionado, se trata de el director británico Charles Mc Dougall".
Pereira indicó que de esa manera "la Televisión Pública Argentina y el Sistema Federal de Medios le abre una ventana al mundo, comenzando a integrarse con otro tipo de programación, trayendo personajes de nivel internacional y a su vez se le permite a los jóvenes de todo el país poder mostrar sus realizaciones".
El funcionario cree en la necesidad de que el servicio de la televisión pública argentina "amplíe las voces, replicando cada vez más a los habitantes de todo el territorio nacional, como ejemplo de ello es la incorporación de periodistas del interior del país en los contenidos que ha comenzado a ofrecer la pantalla pública".
"La RTA debe cumplir una función institucional estratégica que ayude a colocar a la Televisión Pública al lado, de las demás televisiones públicas del mundo, por eso estamos haciendo algunos contactos y teniendo conversaciones, en procura de lograr proyectos de coproducción", concluyó el director de "La Deuda Interna".

Jimmy McGovern, one of the UK’s most celebrated television screenwriters, discusses his passion for people, his politics and what makes a great screenplay.
McGovern cut his teeth working on Brookside (1982-1988), writing many plotlines tackling tough social and political issues over the course of his six-year stint. Next he created Cracker (1994), one of the most complex and sympathetic characters ever seen on the small screen, vividly portrayed by Robbie Coltrane. Cracker set the tone for McGovern’s future work, which although dramatically different, bear similarities in their mix of unflinching social commentary and compelling drama. It was the first of his work to earn McGovern a BAFTA nod (for Drama Series, with Gub Neal in 1994), and he would be nominated a further eight times in various categories. His BAFTA wins include Hillsborough for Single Drama in 1997 (with Nicola Shindler, Charles McDougall and Katy Jones); and two for The Street for Drama Series in 2007 and 2008 (with Sita Williams, Terry McDonough, John Chapman, David Blair and Ken Horn). Sunday is a television drama, produced by Sunday Productions for Channel 4 and screened on 25 January 2002. It dramatises the events of "Bloody Sunday" through the eyes of the families of the dead and injured, specifically those of Leo Young, older brother to John Young, who was killed on the day. The timescale covers events in the years prior to Bloody Sunday, and subsequent events up to and including the Widgery Tribunal.
It was written by Jimmy McGovern and directed by Charles McDougall, and the Channel 4 transmission was followed by a live studio debate about the issues involved. It was overshadowed by the rival Bloody Sunday, shown eight days previously by ITV.
While the ITV's Bloody Sunday filmed most of its scenes in Ballymun in Dublin, Sunday filmed the majority of its scenes in Derry itself. Streets and areas where the actual events of Bloody Sunday happened were used by the production team, such as William Street, Creggan, Craigavon Bridge and Harvey Street, where in the now well-known scene of Father Edward Daly (now retired Bishop of Derry) was filmed waving a blood stained handkerchief escorting men carrying one of the victims, Jackie Duddy.

Jimmy McGovern, one of the UK’s most celebrated television screenwriters, discusses his passion for people, his politics and what makes a great screenplay.
McGovern cut his teeth working on Brookside (1982-1988), writing many plotlines tackling tough social and political issues over the course of his six-year stint. Next he created Cracker (1994), one of the most complex and sympathetic characters ever seen on the small screen, vividly portrayed by Robbie Coltrane. Cracker set the tone for McGovern’s future work, which although dramatically different, bear similarities in their mix of unflinching social commentary and compelling drama. It was the first of his work to earn McGovern a BAFTA nod (for Drama Series, with Gub Neal in 1994), and he would be nominated a further eight times in various categories. His BAFTA wins include Hillsborough for Single Drama in 1997 (with Nicola Shindler, Charles McDougall and Katy Jones); and two for The Street for Drama Series in 2007 and 2008 (with Sita Williams, Terry McDonough, John Chapman, David Blair and Ken Horn). He was presented with BAFTA’s Dennis Potter Award in 1995.

Dr. Denis Burkitt's (1911 - 1993) major contribution to medical science came when he noticed that diseases widespread in Western countries are absent in the Third World. On the basis of his convictions, he launched a worldwide crusade to change the diet in developed countries by recommending Westerners mimic the foods habits of his African patients. He reported, "In Africa, treating people who live largely off the land on vegetables they grow, I hardly ever saw cases of many of the most common diseases in the United States and England -- including coronary heart disease, adult-onset diabetes, varicose veins, obesity, diverticulitis, appendicitis, gallstones, dental cavities, hemorrhoids, hiatus hernias, and constipation. In 20 years of surgery in Africa, I had to remove exactly one gallstone." While serving as head of the governmental health services he saw more than 10 million people flourish on grains and tubers; eating almost no meats, dairy products or processed foods.

Sunday is a television drama, produced by Sunday Productions for Channel 4 and screened on 25 January 2002. It dramatises the events of "Bloody Sunday" through the eyes of the families of the dead and injured, specifically those of Leo Young, older brother to John Young, who was killed on the day. The timescale covers events in the years prior to Bloody Sunday, and subsequent events up to and including the Widgery Tribunal.
It was written by Jimmy McGovern and directed by Charles McDougall, and the Channel 4 transmission was followed by a live studio debate about the issues involved. It was overshadowed by the rival Bloody Sunday, shown eight days previously by ITV.
While the ITV's Bloody Sunday filmed most of its scenes in Ballymun in Dublin, Sunday filmed the majority of its scenes in Derry itself. Streets and areas where the actual events of Bloody Sunday happened were used by the production team, such as William Street, Creggan, Craigavon Bridge and Harvey Street, where in the now well-known scene of Father Edward Daly (now retired Bishop of Derry) was filmed waving a blood stained handkerchief escorting men carrying one of the victims, Jackie Duddy.

“Nature knows Best,” says Cate Shanahan, M.D. “Just eat the way people used to eat….” For their book Deep Nutrition: Why Your Genes Need Traditional Food, she and her partner Luke researched early American cookbooks and worldwide cultures with intact cuisines. They came up with four ways people who live off the land eat, no matter where they live. Eat (1) Fresh, (2) Fermented or sprouted, (3) Meat on the bone, and (4) Organ meats. “Just as we talk about having a variety of vegetables as being important … we also need a variety of parts of an animal.” What to avoid? Excessive amounts of carbohydrates, and vegetable oils (like canola, corn, sunflower oils), which are heavily processed, refined, bleached, and deodorized. Australia in the mid 1800s was a land isolated by distance and divided between two very different cultures. John McDouall Stuart, a migrant from Scotland, was determined to cross the centre of Australia and reach the north coast. His success would pave the way for a communications revolution.
Charles Todd had dreamed of constructing a telegraph line through the heart of the continent and in Stuart he found the man who could prove the inhospitable centre could be crossed. The telegraph's construction heralded the start of a new communications era every bit as revolutionary as the internet. News from overseas arrived in hours rather than months, securing Adelaide's position as the centre for early colonial communications.
It made Todd a hero, but Stuart, the man who made it possible, was destroyed by the hardships he had endured and died in obscurity.

In this intelligent and inspiring talk, writer and visionary Charles Eisenstein explores how we can make the transition from the old story of separation, competition and self-interest to a new Story of the People.
Charles Eisenstein is a teacher, speaker, and writer focusing on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution.
His books (The Ascent of Humanity and Sacred Economics) as well as his other essays and blog posts on web magazines have generated a vast online following; he speaks frequently at conferences and other events, and gives numerous interviews on radio and podcasts. Writing in Ode magazine's "25 Intelligent Optimists" issue, David Korten (author of When Corporations Rule the World) called Eisenstein "one of the up-and-coming great minds of our time."
Eisenstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, and spent the next ten years as a Chinese-English translator. He currently lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife and three sons.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
