Diversity or Diversify or Diverse may refer to:
A film, also called a movie, motion picture or photoplay, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phi phenomenon. This optical illusion causes the audience to perceive continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. A film is created by photographing actual scenes with a motion picture camera; by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques; by means of CGI and computer animation; or by a combination of some or all of these techniques and other visual effects. The word "cinema", short for cinematography, is often used to refer to the industry of films and filmmaking or to the art of filmmaking itself. The contemporary definition of cinema is the art of simulating experiences to communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory stimulations.
The process of filmmaking is both an art and an industry.

He came to prominence in 1997 when he and Ben Affleck wrote and starred in Good Will Hunting, which won them the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay and earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Nuestra Familia (Spanish for "our family") is a criminal organization of Mexican American (Chicano) prison gangs with origins in Northern California. While members of the Norteños gang are considered to be affiliated with Nuestra Familia, being a member of Nuestra Familia itself does not signify association as a Norteño. Some law enforcement agents speculate that the Nuestra Familia gang, which operates in and out of prisons, influences much of the criminal activity of thousands of Norteño gang members in California. The gang's main sources of income are distributing cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamine within prison systems as well as in the community and extorting drug distributors on the streets.
Nuestra Familia was organized in either Soledad, CA or Tracy, Ca, correctional facilities in 1968.
In the late 1960s, Mexican-American inmates of the California state prison system began to separate into two rival groups, Nuestra Familia and the 1957-formed Mexican Mafia, according to the locations of their hometowns (the north-south dividing line is near Bakersfield, California.)
Filmmaking (or in an academic context, film production) is the process of making a film. Filmmaking involves a number of discrete stages including an initial story, idea, or commission, through scriptwriting, casting, shooting, sound recording and reproduction, editing, and screening the finished product before an audience that may result in a film release and exhibition. Filmmaking takes place in many places around the world in a range of economic, social, and political contexts, and using a variety of technologies and cinematic techniques. Typically, it involves a large number of people, and can take from a few months to several years to complete.
Film production consists of five major stages:

http://bit.ly/VarietySubscribe Although television has made big strides in diversity, progress in feature films has been slower, Viola Davis and Tom Hanks discussed in a one-on-one interview for Variety‘s “Actors on Actors.” Davis, who stars in the drama “Fences” as well as on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder,” talked about the barriers and expectations that people of color face in the world of film. “Even in fabulous roles, they are still within the confines of being ‘strong,’ ‘a device,’ ‘funny,'” Davis said. “If it’s a black movie, at best it’s a biopic because it makes the audience feel comfortable that I am investing in this black person’s humanity, who I already know has made a mark in the world.” The interview will air in its entirety on Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” Season 5, ...

In Our Family, children share stories about all kinds of families. Today's children come from families living in one home or two, some are being raised by one mom or one dad, or they might have two parents/caregivers or live with grandparents or other family members. Others have parents/caregivers of different ethnic backgrounds, or who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. And some children are adopted or live in blended families. This short film is a collaboration between Our Family Coalition and Not In Our Town to encourage conversation about the many diverse family constellations, to give children the opportunity to see and appreciate their own families, and to be open and respectful to those who are different from them. One of the country's leading actors - Idris Elba - has said that the UK "the most successful, diverse, multi-cultural country on the earth". But the star of "Luther" and "The Wire" said there was one problem - you couldn't tell that by what appears on our television screens. "Are black people normally playing petty criminals? Are women always the love interest or talking about men?," he asked. His comments follow similar criticism over the lack of black Oscar nominees last week. Many in our industry have only recently embraced the responsibility of ensuring diversity and equal representation in entertainment. There’s a lot of work to be done—and no one is in a better position to advocate for change than the producer. This session presents a spirited conversation that re-frames the issues: What are the best practices for creating sustainable, scalable and systemic change? What strategies and solutions have proven most effective at getting to “yes” when producers bring stories from diverse communities? How can film learn from the paradigm-shifting (and handsomely rewarded) choices made by television and digital media storytellers and entrepreneurs? Above all, how can producers take the lead in challenging the status quo? Hear first-hand from those taking leadersh...

Working with a dedicated team of translators, journalists and cameramen, Yann captures deeply personal and emotional accounts of topics that unite us all; struggles with poverty, war, homophobia, and the future of our planet mixed with moments of love and happiness.
