Canon EOS 500D
The Canon EOS 500D is a 15-megapixel entry-level digital single-lens reflex camera, announced by Canon on 25 March 2009. It was released in May 2009. It is known as the EOS Kiss X3 in Japan, and as the EOS Rebel T1i in North America. It continues the Rebel line of mid-range DSLR cameras, is placed by Canon as the next model up from the EOS 450D, and has been superseded by the EOS 550D (T2i).
It is the third digital single-lens reflex camera to feature a movie mode and the second to feature full 1080p video recording, albeit at the rate of 20 frames/sec. The camera shares a few features with the high-end Canon EOS 5D Mark II, including movie mode, Live preview, and DiGIC 4. Like the EOS 450D and EOS 1000D, it uses SDHC media storage, and is the third EOS model to use that medium instead of CompactFlash. Like the EOS 5D Mark II, video clips are recorded as MOV (QuickTime) files with H.264/MPEG-4 compressed video and linear PCM audio.

This is just a HD Videotest with the Canon Eos 500D. Cutting and Editing works fine with Sony Vegas I filmed in 1080p mode with crappy 20fps but let Sony Vegas interpolate to 720p with 25 fps. The 720p mode of this Cam causes too many artifacts especially at edges in the images. Thats the reason why i don't use 720p with 30fps. In this video, I demonstrate the installation of the Magic Lantern Firmware on the Canon T1i (500D). This unlocks a variety of wonderful features on the camera that are not available with the default firmware from Canon. Warning: This will void any remaining warranty. Magic Lantern Firmware: http://magiclantern.fm/ Canon T1i (500D): http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/eos_slr_camera_systems/eos_digital_slr_cameras/eos_rebel_t1i You'll need: 1. A SDHC card formatted in your Canon DSLR camera. 2. A well-charged battery. Once you download the firmware from the Magic Lantern site, you'll need to extract the contents of the .zip file onto the SDHC primary directory. Insert the card into the camera, turn the mode selection knob to 'Manual', and then press the "Menu" button. Navigate to the seventh drop-down (the one that looks like a wrench with three dots) and scroll down to the menu labeled 'Firmware'. Press the 'Set' button. There will be a statement about the current firmware version and then the option to 'Update'. Direct the menu highlighting to 'ok' and press 'Set'. The Magic Lantern firmware will be installed on your camera. Canon 500D HD Video Testing
This is just a HD Videotest with the Canon Eos 500D. Cutting and Editing works fine with Sony Vegas I filmed in 1080p mode with crappy 20fps but let Sony Vegas interpolate to 720p with 25 fps. The 720p mode of this Cam causes too many artifacts especially at edges in the images. Thats the reason why i don't use 720p with 30fps. This unlocks a variety of wonderful features on the camera that are not available with the default firmware from Canon. Warning: This will void any remaining warranty. Cutting and Editing works fine with Sony Vegas
I filmed in 1080p mode with crappy 20fps but let Sony Vegas interpolate to 720p with 25 fps.
The 720p mode of this Cam causes too many artifacts especially at edges in the images.
Thats the reason why i don't use 720p with 30fps.
So the next guitar Videos will be in HD yeehaa :)

In this video, I demonstrate the installation of the Magic Lantern Firmware on the Canon T1i (500D). This unlocks a variety of wonderful features on the camera that are not available with the default firmware from Canon.

You'll need:
1. A SDHC card formatted in your Canon DSLR camera.
2. A well-charged battery.
Once you download the firmware from the Magic Lantern site, you'll need to extract the contents of the .zip file onto the SDHC primary directory. Insert the card into the camera, turn the mode selection knob to 'Manual', and then press the "Menu" button. Navigate to the seventh drop-down (the one that looks like a wrench with three dots) and scroll down to the menu labeled 'Firmware'. Press the 'Set' button. There will be a statement about the current firmware version and then the option to 'Update'. Direct the menu highlighting to 'ok' and press 'Set'. The Magic Lantern firmware will be installed on your camera.

Nikon D500 Review - All About the Gear
The Nikon D500 comes more than 6.5 years after the D300, Nikon’s last semi-pro APS-C body. It may have been worth the wait as the D500 may now be the go-to camera for sports and nature. By using the same autofocus sensor as the full-frame D5, Nikon has given the D500 nearly 100% phase-detect autofocus coverage in an APS-C body. Coupled with a huge buffer (so long as you use an XQD memory card), the D500 can shoot continuously up to 200 RAW files at 10 frames per second. And while a disadvantage for wide-angle shooters, those who want long focal lengths — again, think sports, wildlife and events — remember the D500’s APS-C sensor multiplies the field-of-view crop by 1.5x. I'm following-up with DxOMark to find out why. Regardless of the charts, based on our own tests, the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II with the 5DS-R is noticeably sharper than the Nikon setup at 200mm.

The Nikon D500 comes more than 6.5 years after the D300, Nikon’s last semi-pro APS-C body. It may have been worth the wait as the D500 may now be the go-to camera for sports and nature. By using the same autofocus sensor as the full-frame D5, Nikon has given the D500 nearly 100% phase-detect autofocus coverage in an APS-C body. Coupled with a huge buffer (so long as you use an XQD memory card), the D500 can shoot continuously up to 200 RAW files at 10 frames per second. And while a disadvantage for wide-angle shooters, those who want long focal lengths — again, think sports, wildlife and events — remember the D500’s APS-C sensor multiplies the field-of-view crop by 1.5x. Those 300mm lenses now have the crop that a 450mm has on a full-frame body. Add weatherproofing, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, Nikon’s latest SnapBridge technology, a tilting touch screen and 4K video (although not the best for that) and you’ve got a serious contender for the best-in-class among APS-C bodies. You just need to get past the highest-in-class price of US$2,000.

Many have commented on how poor the Sigma 50mm is at AF-C compared to other Nikon lenses. I was concerned here with the two best 85mm equiv range portrait lenses I could find on the two bodies. But if AF-C is extremely important to you, more research than what I provided here is warranted.
Another viewer commented on my lack of coverage of the XQU card. His words: "If you are shooting with an XQD card the buffer stops at 200 and you can just repress the shutter and keep going. It is almost unlimited in RAW at 10 FPS. That XQU card is a must-have for the D500."
