Le vieillard (The old man) is a 1894 painting by Léon Pourtau in the collection of the Museo Soumaya, Mexico City.
This work represents an old man in a deserted French street, during a curfew of Prussian occupation. The man walks with crutches, probably with a physical wound. The scene is illuminated by the explosion of a bomb that produces an intense yellow colour that breaks the darkness of the night.
This work was produced in the context of the defeat of the French Republic to the German Empire after the Franco-Prussian War. Pourtau was a student of Georges Seurat and this work shows influence of pointillism and divisionism. The technique employed by Pourtau to achieve a contrast between the dark and the distinct colours in the work is impasto oil-painting which involves applying thick layers of paint. It is close in style to German Expressionism.

Cliff Williams went on to join Bandit from 1975 to 1977 before he replaced Mark Evans in Australian hard rock band AC/DC. Guitarist Laurie Wisefield went on to achieve success with the British band Wishbone Ash. The record also featured Jimmy Anderson on keyboards. Though the album was loved by the critics, it did not sell well commercially.

The US' massive prison population is getting older. Long sentences that were handed out decades ago are catching up with the American justice system. Prisons across the country are dedicating entire units just to house the elderly. During difficult economic times, the issue has hit a crisis point. Estimates are that locking up an older inmate costs three times as much as a younger one. How are prisons dealing with this issue? Who are the prisoners that are turning gray behind bars? Josh Rushing gains exclusive and unprecedented access to jails and prisons across the country to tell the story. Another selection of new movies of gay interest. A brief synopsis of each movie is in the video description. Something Like Summer Benjamin, an openly gay 17 year-old, becomes infatuated with newcomer Tim, handsome, popular, and apparently straight. By day he scores chemicals, engages in a cautious relationship with a young woman, and looks after his dying father. When the sun sets, he flirts and cams with older men online and arranging hook-ups with guys at a nearby cruising b...
This Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Speedrun Walkthrough shows the full game with good ending (including all cutscenes). The "Just Get Me Outta Here" trophy requires you to beat the game in 4 hours or less. My time was 2 hours 30 minutes 50 seconds. Most importantly, restarting checkpoints (hitting "retry" after death) adds to your time! It won't reset time on checkpoint restart. A workaround is to create manual save games at cassette recorders. If something goes horribly wrong quit out to the main menu (pause game, press "end"), then click "load game" and choose a manual save. Speedruns Tips: - Play on easy difficulty. - You have more than enough time. I had 1,5 hours left and this was my first attempt. - Run past all enemies. Don't spend too much time looting items, only pick up the stuff yo...

Watch Hidden Killers of the Post-War Home Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G2m0jkB16Y While the Victorians confronted the challenges of ruling an empire, perhaps the most dangerous environment they faced was in their own homes. Householders lapped up the latest products, gadgets and conveniences, but in an era with no health and safety standards they were unwittingly turning their homes into hazardous death traps. In a genuine horror story, Dr Suzannah Lipscomb reveals the killers that lurked in every room of the Victorian home and shows how they were unmasked. What new innovation killed thousands of babies? And what turned the domestic haven into a ticking time bomb?

The tears, have all been shed now, we’ve said our last goodbye.
His souls’ been blessed, he’s laid to rest, and it’s now I feel alone.
He was more than just my father, my teacher, my best friend.
And he'll still be heard, in the tunes we've shared, when I play them on my own.
I never will forget him, for he made me what I am, though he may be gone, memories linger on,
And I miss him, the old man.
As a boy, he’d take me walking, by mountain, field and stream.
And he’d show me things, not known to kids, and secret, between him and me.
Like the colors, on the pheasant, as he rises, in the dawn.
Or how to fish, or make a wish, beside a faerie (fairy) tree.
I never will forget him, for he made me what I am, though he may be gone, memories linger on,
And I miss him, the old man.
I thought he’d live forever, he seemed so big and strong.
But the minutes fly, and the years roll by, for a father and a son.
And suddenly, when it happened, there was so much left unsaid.
No second chance, to tell him,
Thanks.
For everything he’d done.
Oh, I never will forget him, for he made me what I am, though he may be gone, memories linger on,
God I miss him,
