EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK | PART 2 (Lukla to Namche)
In October of 2016 I went on the adventure of a lifetime to EVEREST BASE CAMP as a videographer for AdventureFit Travel. We did the entire TREK in 9 days!! I also filmed daily vlogs for you to see what goes on in the Himalayas!

October 16 -18, 2012. Part One of our trek in the Mt Everest Region of Nepal. We took an afternoon flight from Kathmandu to the village of Lukla, which has the only airport in the region. Landing at Lukla is a dramatic event....but that's another story. Our first day trekking took us through several villages on a level and slightly downhill trail to Phakding, where we spent the night. The next day we crossed the Dudh Kosi river five times and then made a steep climb up to the large and well-known village of Namche Bazaar. Our next day was a rest day, but quite memorable, thanks to a short hike to the ridge above town to get our first glimpse of 8000+ meter peaks of Everest and Lhotse, along with the lesser summits of Nuptse and Ama Dablam. (Note: for best viewing, set the quality to 720p or "Original".)

Days 1-3
After landing at the infamous Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla, we began our long trek towards Gokyo Ri and Everest Base Camp. Days 1-3 saw us trek through tiny villages of Phakding, amongst various other villages along the way. We crossed the famous Hillary suspension bridge, and trekked for 3 hours uphill to the enchanting village of Namche Bazaar, 3440m above sea level, and perched on the side of a mountain.

Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar (also Nemche Bazaar or Namche Baza; Nepali: नाम्चे बजार
listen ) is a village and Village Development Committee (Namche) in Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. It is located within the Khumbu area at 3,440 metres (11,286 ft) at its low point, populating the sides of a hill. Most of Sherpa are in the tourism business, specially from Namche area, Namche is the main trading center and hub for the Khumbu region with many Nepalese officials, a police check, post and a bank. Namche is the most expensive place in Nepal, at least thrice as expensive as the capital city Kathmandu.
At the time of the 2001 Nepal census, it had a population of 1647 people residing in 397 individual households.
Geography
Immediately west of Namche is Kongde Ri at 6,187 metres (20,299 ft) and to the east is Thamserku at 6,623 metres (21,729 ft).
Transport
On a hill overlooking Namche Bazaar is the Syangboche Airport (3,750 m / 12,303 ft). It is no longer used for passenger flights. Russian helicopters make occasional cargo flights.

Everest Base Camp
Everest Base Camp is a term that is used to describe two base camps on opposite sides of Mount Everest. South Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metres (17,598 ft) (28°0′26″N 86°51′34″E / 28.00722°N 86.85944°E / 28.00722; 86.85944), and North Base Camp is in Tibet at 5,150 metres (16,900 ft) (28°8′29″N 86°51′5″E / 28.14139°N 86.85139°E / 28.14139; 86.85139 (North Base Camp)). These camps are rudimentary campsites on Mount Everest that are used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent. South Base Camp is used when climbing via the southeast ridge, while North Base Camp is used when climbing via the northeast ridge.
Supplies are shipped to the South Base Camp by sherpas or porters, and with the help of animals, usually yaks. The North Base Camp has vehicle access (at least in the summer months). Climbers typically rest at base camp for several days for acclimatization to reduce the risks and severity of altitude sickness.

EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK | PART 2 (Lukla to Namche)
In October of 2016 I went on the adventure of a lifetime to EVEREST BASE CAMP as a videographer for AdventureFit Travel. We did the entire TREK in 9 days!! I also filmed daily vlogs for you to see what goes on in the Himalayas!

October 16 -18, 2012. Part One of our trek in the Mt Everest Region of Nepal. We took an afternoon flight from Kathmandu to the village of Lukla, which has the only airport in the region. Landing at Lukla is a dramatic event....but that's another story. Our first day trekking took us through several villages on a level and slightly downhill trail to Phakding, where we spent the night. The next day we crossed the Dudh Kosi river five times and then made a steep climb up to the large and well-known village of Namche Bazaar. Our next day was a rest day, but quite memorable, thanks to a short hike to the ridge above town to get our first glimpse of 8000+ meter peaks of Everest and Lhotse, along with the lesser summits of Nuptse and Ama Dablam. (Note: for best viewing, set the quality to 720p or "Original".)

After landing at the infamous Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla, we began our long trek towards Gokyo Ri and Everest Base Camp. Days 1-3 saw us trek through tiny villages of Phakding, amongst various other villages along the way. We crossed the famous Hillary suspension bridge, and trekked for 3 hours uphill to the enchanting village of Namche Bazaar, 3440m above sea level, and perched on the side of a mountain.

TREKKING IN NEPAL, This is 2nd day of our EVEREST BASE CAMP TREKKING, we will try to get ACCLIMATIZE AROUND NAMCHE BAZAAR. It is the last big market you will see in your Everest Trekking at the altitude of 3440 meters (11380 ft). All climbers do shopping and have a good time at Namche Bazaar before or after from medicines to warm jackets to remaining climbers gears here.
FEW THINGS TO DO IN NAMCHE BAZAAR SOLUKHUMBU NEPAL
1. Go to Height of Sagarmatha National Park near the Army Camp at the top of Bazaar where you can see beautiful range of Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Nuptse and much more.
2. Trek up to Hotel Everest View Point at 3880 meters and have some nice cup of tea or coffee.
3. On the way to trekking to Hotel Everest Viewpoint, you will see world's one of highest altitude airport, Syangboche Airport.
4. Namche Bazaar itself is very beautiful and charming to walk around have drinks and coffee here and there. There are many beautiful restaurants, cafe with good music and mountaineers stories.
5. Cafe 8848, this cafe shows the documentary at 3 PM every day in Namche Bazaar about Everest. They ask you to drink something for staying and watching. But it's a good time after doing the trek around Namche in the evening.
6. Sherpa Museum, one wonderful Sherpa photographer has maintained an amazing museum of sherpa life and records of all climbers, photographs and beautiful picture and things of Sherpa. Pretty cool, for looking Sherpa house, one has to pay about 200 rupees.

We walked along the hillside of the river Doodh Koshi while watching the beautiful Himalayas, Yaks bell ringing all around. Greenery, Trees, flowers, waterfalls, river sound, Buddhist, beautiful people are quite a good way of trekking. The whole trail is full of tea houses and snacks corners, so one doesn't need to worry about tea, coffee, water etc. But yes, it's not everywhere which comes in a couple of hours of trekking every time.
Namche is at 4000 meters altitude while Tengboche is at 3900 meters height. So you will feel much colder compared to Namche Bazaar. There are not many hotels, the only couple of hotels in Tengboche, Solukhumbu Nepal since most of the lands around are occupied by Sagarmatha National Park. So, on peak season time it could be difficult to get a room in the hotel. You can pre-confirm in Namche or you can actually go further down like half an hour to stay at the hotel too. There are few more down.
The Tengboche Monastery is one of the highly respected monasteries, it's beautiful and worth visiting it before you trek further.
