Some people believe Keynes is the #1 economist of all time, whereas others (for example, those with less interventionist economic views) consider him a controversial figure. This much is certain, however: John Maynard Keynes is, without a doubt, one of the most influential economists ever. From criticizing the Versailles Treaty to writing his most famous book (The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money), Keynes was most definitely active when it comes to shaping economic policy. When thinking of John Maynard Keynes, many remember reading about his "in the long run we are all dead" quote but like many other things about him, the quote in question has been grossly misinterpreted.
