Bear Man Of Finland Has An Unbreakable Bond With Brown Bears

MEET Sulo Karjalainen - known to many in his native Finland as the "bearman". The 73-year-old runs Kuusamo Large Carnivore Centre with his brother Jalo, which has been home to more than 20 orphaned brown bears. After working on a research project studying Finnish carnivores, Sulo was asked if he would mind taking in some cubs. And over the years a deep bond has grown up between Sulo and his furry companions. The Fin, who has lived on the same farm all his life, has become a celebrity in his homeland due to his incredible relationship with the predators - even starring in his own TV documentary. At present Sulo looks after six bears - and has no plans to retire any time soon.

4. Malayan Bear
With its long tongue, the Malayan Bear appears as though it could lick you to death if anything. Also known as the Sun bear this is the smallest member of bears. The name is quite ironic due to the fact that these bears are actually nocturnal, but they’re known to live in sunny areas of india. Indonesia and southern China.The sun bear actually gets this nickname because of the golden crescent along their chest. They weigh on average 150 pounds and reach heights of 5 feet tall on two feet. Don’t let his size fool you though, They’re known to quite aggressive. They really don’t need a reason to attack. Despite them being primarily herbivores, they have large teeth, comparable to lions and tigers. Although many zoos believe these bears are more calm than the others and let people pet them, they can be quite unpredictable and strike without warning.
3. American Black Bears
These medium sized bears are native to North America and are one of the more common species of bears. Their diets vary greatly depending on their locations what season it is. When food becomes scarce they are known for leaving the forest and go to more urban areas. These 300 pound omnivores can run extremely fast and no one is fast enough to beat this beast in a foot race. They can reach speeds of 50 feet per second! A woman in New Mexico was attacked by a black bear in June 2016. While competing in a Marathon she was subdued by the 300 pound black bear and she then suffered severe bites and scratches to the face, neck and upper torso. This goes to show you how they can strike basically anywhere at anytime. They are very territorial of their cubs and will get quite violent in an attempt to defend them. Luckily this time, the victim survived, but the next one, may not be so lucky.
2. Grizzly Bear
This large species of brown enjoys eating much more than just salmon swimming up stream. They can and will eat just about anything, including humans. Depending how much food it can find, especially fish, they can grow up to 1000 pounds. Grizzlies will also fight among themselves for the best fishing locations. With their explosive speeds, sharp claws and powerful jaws, they can chase down their prey just as effectively as most predators. The last thing you want to do is be in the same enclosure as a grizzly bear. These dramatic photos were taken of an intruder at a Swiss zoo in 2009 and you notice the sheer size between humans and bears. Needless to say, he was severely mauled and pinned down by the extreme weight. Grizzlies are also scavengers and will eat the remains of carcasses left by other predators. In this incredible photo taken in Alaska, shows a sloth of bears getting ready to eat the remains of a whale that washed up on the shore. It’s almost like hitting a bear jackpot!

Polar bears may look cute and cuddly, until they're completely drenched in the blood of their enemies. Females can weigh up to 11 hundred pounds while being 8 feet tall on two feet. Male polar bears are so dangerous, even to their own cubs are safe. When seals are scarce, especially summer, sometimes the only food left to eat is their own children. This is probably something that will continue to happen with polar ice caps melting. Unlike other species of bears, polar bears are completely carnivorous, mostly due to their habitat. With fewer resources to hunt, polar bears must be extremely proficient when it’s spotted a potential prey. They are excellent swimmers and are known for being able to catch seals underwater. Since human developments, especially in places like Russia’s far east, and northern Canada, infringe on polar bear territory, attacks like this one can happen and are rare but still vicious. Luckily villagers were able to scare it off eventually but not without teaching this woman a lesson not to mess with polar bears.

The grizzly bear is any North American subspecies of the brown bear, such as the mainland grizzly (U. a. horribilis), the Kodiak (U. a. middendorffi), the peninsular grizzly (U. a. gyas) and the recently extinct California grizzly (U. a. californicus). Specialists sometimes call the grizzly the North American brown bear because the grizzly and the brown bear are one species on two continents. In some places, some may nickname the grizzly the silvertip for the silvery, grizzly sheen in its fur.
Since the mainland grizzly is so widespread, it is representative and archetypal for the whole subspecific group. Even so, classification is being revised along genetic lines. Its closest relatives are the European cave bear and the polar bear.
Except for females with cubs, grizzlies are normally solitary, active animals, but in coastal areas, grizzlies gather around streams, lakes, rivers, and ponds during the salmon spawn. Every other year, females (sows) produce one to four young (usually two) which are small and weigh only about 500 grams (1 lb). Bears are mammals of the family Ursidae. Bears are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans, with the pinnipeds being their closest living relatives. Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network is an American basic cable and satellite television channel that is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner. The channel airs primarily animated programming, ranging from action to animated comedy. It was founded by Betty Cohen and launched on October 1, 1992.
It is primarily aimed at children and teenagers between the ages of 7–16, and also targets older teens and adults with mature content during its late night daypart Adult Swim, which is treated as a separate entity for promotional purposes and as a separate channel by Nielsen for ratings purposes. A Spanish language audio track for select programs is accessible via SAP; some cable and satellite companies offer the Spanish feed as a separate channel.

Development
On August 4, 1986, Ted Turner's Turner Broadcasting System acquired Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer/United Artists from Kirk Kerkorian; due to concerns over the debt load of his companies, on October 17, 1986, Turner was forced to sell MGM back to Kerkorian after approximately only 74 days of ownership. However, Turner kept much of MGM's film and television library made prior to May 1986 (as well as some of the United Artists library) and formed Turner Entertainment.

We Bare Bears
We Bare Bears is an American animated television series created by Daniel Chong. The show premiered on Cartoon Network and follows three bear siblings, Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear (respectively voiced by Eric Edelstein, Bobby Moynihan, and Demetri Martin), and their awkward attempts at integrating with the human world in the San Francisco Bay Area. Based on Chong's webcomic The Three Bare Bears, the pilot episode made its world premiere at the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival, where it won in the "Young Amsterdam Audience" category. The series premiered on July 27, 2015. This series is Cartoon Network's first original series based on a comic.
On August 12, 2015, Cartoon Network renewed the series for a second season.
Plot
We Bare Bears follows three adoptive bear brothers: Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear. The bears attempt to integrate with human society, such as purchasing food, making human companions or trying to become famous on the Internet, although these attempts see the bears struggle to do so due to the civilized nature of humans and their own animal instincts. However, in the end, they soon figure out that they have each other for support. One notable aspect of the show's humor is the bears' ability to form a "bear stack". As its name implies, the bears stack on top of each other, which serves as their unique way of transportation.

The grizzly bear (Ursus arctos ssp.) is any North American morphological form or subspecies of brown bear, including the mainland grizzly (Ursus arctos horribilis), Kodiak bear (U. a. middendorffi), peninsular grizzly (U. a. gyas), and the recently extinct California grizzly (U. a. californicus†) and Mexican grizzly bear (U. a. nelsoni†). Nonetheless, after careful study, naturalist George Ord formally classified it in 1815 – not for its hair, but for its character – as Ursus horribilis ("terrifying bear").

Don’t let his size fool you though, They’re known to quite aggressive. They really don’t need a reason to attack. Despite them being primarily herbivores, they have large teeth, comparable to lions and tigers. Although many zoos believe these bears are more calm than the others and let people pet them, they can be quite unpredictable and strike without warning.
3. American Black Bears
These medium sized bears are native to North America and are one of the more common species of bears. Their diets vary greatly depending on their locations what season it is. When food becomes scarce they are known for leaving the forest and go to more urban areas. These 300 pound omnivores can run extremely fast and no one is fast enough to beat this beast in a foot race. They can reach speeds of 50 feet per second! A woman in New Mexico was attacked by a black bear in June 2016. While competing in a Marathon she was subdued by the 300 pound black bear and she then suffered severe bites and scratches to the face, neck and upper torso. This goes to show you how they can strike basically anywhere at anytime. They are very territorial of their cubs and will get quite violent in an attempt to defend them. Luckily this time, the victim survived, but the next one, may not be so lucky.
2. Grizzly Bear
This large species of brown enjoys eating much more than just salmon swimming up stream. They can and will eat just about anything, including humans. Depending how much food it can find, especially fish, they can grow up to 1000 pounds. Grizzlies will also fight among themselves for the best fishing locations. With their explosive speeds, sharp claws and powerful jaws, they can chase down their prey just as effectively as most predators. The last thing you want to do is be in the same enclosure as a grizzly bear. These dramatic photos were taken of an intruder at a Swiss zoo in 2009 and you notice the sheer size between humans and bears. Needless to say, he was severely mauled and pinned down by the extreme weight. Grizzlies are also scavengers and will eat the remains of carcasses left by other predators. In this incredible photo taken in Alaska, shows a sloth of bears getting ready to eat the remains of a whale that washed up on the shore. It’s almost like hitting a bear jackpot!
1.Polar Bears
Polar bears may look cute and cuddly, until they're completely drenched in the blood of their enemies. Females can weigh up to 11 hundred pounds while being 8 feet tall on two feet. Male polar bears are so dangerous, even to their own cubs are safe. When seals are scarce, especially summer, sometimes the only food left to eat is their own children. This is probably something that will continue to happen with polar ice caps melting. Unlike other species of bears, polar bears are completely carnivorous, mostly due to their habitat. With fewer resources to hunt, polar bears must be extremely proficient when it’s spotted a potential prey. They are excellent swimmers and are known for being able to catch seals underwater. Since human developments, especially in places like Russia’s far east, and northern Canada, infringe on polar bear territory, attacks like this one can happen and are rare but still vicious. Luckily villagers were able to scare it off eventually but not without teaching this woman a lesson not to mess with polar bears.

4. Malayan Bear
With its long tongue, the Malayan Bear appears as though it could lick you to death if anything. Also known as the Sun bear this is the smallest member of bears. The name is quite ironic due to the fact that these bears are actually nocturnal, but they’re known to live in sunny areas of india. Indonesia and southern China.The sun bear actually gets this nickname because of the golden crescent along their chest. They weigh on average 150 pounds and reach heights of 5 feet tall on two feet. Don’t let his size fool you though, They’re known to quite aggressive. They really don’t need a reason to attack. Despite them being primarily herbivores, they have large teeth, comparable to lions and tigers. Although many zoos believe these bears are more calm than the others and let people pet them, they can be quite unpredictable and strike without warning.
3. American Black Bears
These medium sized bears are native to North America and are one of the more common species of bears. Their diets vary greatly depending on their locations what season it is. When food becomes scarce they are known for leaving the forest and go to more urban areas. These 300 pound omnivores can run extremely fast and no one is fast enough to beat this beast in a foot race. They can reach speeds of 50 feet per second! A woman in New Mexico was attacked by a black bear in June 2016. While competing in a Marathon she was subdued by the 300 pound black bear and she then suffered severe bites and scratches to the face, neck and upper torso. This goes to show you how they can strike basically anywhere at anytime. They are very territorial of their cubs and will get quite violent in an attempt to defend them. Luckily this time, the victim survived, but the next one, may not be so lucky.
2. Grizzly Bear
This large species of brown enjoys eating much more than just salmon swimming up stream. They can and will eat just about anything, including humans. Depending how much food it can find, especially fish, they can grow up to 1000 pounds. Grizzlies will also fight among themselves for the best fishing locations. With their explosive speeds, sharp claws and powerful jaws, they can chase down their prey just as effectively as most predators. The last thing you want to do is be in the same enclosure as a grizzly bear. These dramatic photos were taken of an intruder at a Swiss zoo in 2009 and you notice the sheer size between humans and bears. Needless to say, he was severely mauled and pinned down by the extreme weight. Grizzlies are also scavengers and will eat the remains of carcasses left by other predators. In this incredible photo taken in Alaska, shows a sloth of bears getting ready to eat the remains of a whale that washed up on the shore. It’s almost like hitting a bear jackpot!
1.Polar Bears
Polar bears may look cute and cuddly, until they're completely drenched in the blood of their enemies. Females can weigh up to 11 hundred pounds while being 8 feet tall on two feet. Male polar bears are so dangerous, even to their own cubs are safe. When seals are scarce, especially summer, sometimes the only food left to eat is their own children. This is probably something that will continue to happen with polar ice caps melting. Unlike other species of bears, polar bears are completely carnivorous, mostly due to their habitat. With fewer resources to hunt, polar bears must be extremely proficient when it’s spotted a potential prey. They are excellent swimmers and are known for being able to catch seals underwater. Since human developments, especially in places like Russia’s far east, and northern Canada, infringe on polar bear territory, attacks like this one can happen and are rare but still vicious. Luckily villagers were able to scare it off eventually but not without teaching this woman a lesson not to mess with polar bears.

Specialists sometimes call the grizzly the North American brown bear because the grizzly and the brown bear are one species on two continents. In some places, some may nickname the grizzly the silvertip for the silvery, grizzly sheen in its fur.
Since the mainland grizzly is so widespread, it is representative and archetypal for the whole subspecific group. Even so, classification is being revised along genetic lines. Its closest relatives are the European cave bear and the polar bear.
Except for females with cubs, grizzlies are normally solitary, active animals, but in coastal areas, grizzlies gather around streams, lakes, rivers, and ponds during the salmon spawn. Every other year, females (sows) produce one to four young (usually two) which are small and weigh only about 500 grams (1 lb). A sow is protective of her offspring and will attack if she thinks she or her cubs are threatened.
