Book of Amos

The Book of Amos is a prophetic book of the Hebrew Bible, one of the Twelve Minor Prophets. Amos, an older contemporary of Hosea and Isaiah, was active c. 750 BC during the reign of Jeroboam II, (786–746 BC) making the Book of Amos the first biblical prophetic book written. Amos lived in the kingdom of Judah but preached in the northern kingdom of Israel. His major themes of social justice, God's omnipotence, and divine judgment became staples of prophecy.

Authorship

Amos was a prophet, see Amos (prophet), during the reign of Jeroboam ben Joash (Jeroboam II), ruler of Israel from 793 BC to 753 BC, and the reign of Uzziah, King of Judah, at a time when both kingdoms (Israel in the North and Judah in the South) were peaking in prosperity. He was a contemporary of the prophet Hosea, but likely preceded him. Many of the earlier accounts of prophets found in the Tanakh are found within the context of other accounts of Israel's history. Amos, however, is the first prophet whose name also serves as the title of the corresponding biblical book in which his story is found.

Río Roma

Río Roma (English: "Roma River") are a Mexican Latin pop duo. It consists of José Luis Roma and Raúl Roma, who are brothers.

José Luis is also a prolific songwriter. Famous singers who had recorded songs written by him include: María José, Alejandro Fernández, Camila, Alejandra Guzmán and Pandora, among others.

They chose "Río Roma" as name because they like how it sounds and because it reads "oír amor (hearing love)" backwards.

Biography

From 1997 until 2002, José Luis was member of Mexican boy band Ciao Mama, with whom he recorded two albums: "Ciao Mama" in 1999, and "Puntos Suspensivos..." in 2001, both under EMI Music México.

In 2008 José Luis and Raúl recorded a Norteño album as "Josel y Raúl". They started as Río Roma until 2011.

Alexander Acha Alemán (born January 25, 1985 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal) is a Latin Grammy winning Mexican singer-songwriter.

The son of Mexican pop singer Emmanuel, Alexander Acha is also a pianist and a Berklee College of Music alum. He was raised as a devout Roman Catholic and he still attends Mass at the Church. His debut album Voy (2008) reached gold status in his native country, with Te Amo being his first single. On November 5, 2009 he won the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist.
