Hawks is a 1988 British comedy film about two terminally ill patients, an English lawyer named Bancroft (Timothy Dalton) and a young American football player (Anthony Edwards), who decide to sneak out of their hospital rooms and live life to its fullest for whatever time they have left. Their goal is to reach a famous brothel in Amsterdam. Along the way, they encounter various characters including a pair of misfit British women played by Camille Coduri and Janet McTeer.
It was filmed on location in London's Charing Cross Hospital and in the Netherlands.
The film was directed by Robert Ellis Miller and based on a short story written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees and David English, and the screenplay was written by Roy Clarke. The musical score was composed by Gibb.
The film has been regarded by some as one of the most overlooked and underrated in Timothy Dalton's career.

TV TRAILER for Hawks (1988) Stars: Timothy Dalton, Anthony Edwards, Janet McTeer
Mature themes- language Timothy as Brancroft(1988). Hawks is wonderful and funny yet deals with a serious subject. Bancroft and Deckermensky, 'Decker' both have terminal cancer and escape the hospital for a last trip to Amsterdam. The friendship of the 2 men is bittersweet and touching to watch unfolding. Hawks could have been sappy but you never have to feel sorry for them, even though you know their fate. Timothy is a delight and dazzling as Brancroft, with humor and emotions not seen in other role. Anthony Edwards is amazing too as his partner in crime. The 2 men's adventure is marvelous to watch. Enjoy! NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. THIS VIDEO WAS MADE FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. Hawks
She doesn't have a pulse
Her daughter cries from what she's seen
The failure of a system
This war of ideologies
Has gone far past it's limit
Listen, we'll shoulder all the blame
They rely on the market expecting you to subsist
On disposable income and medical bills
How can we ignore the necessity, the necessity of life
Why can we justify our apathy, our apathy it thrives
When will we stop our complacency?
Whenever it feels right
And time and time again, we're forced to make decisions
And time and time again, we're guilty by association
Are we getting what we're paying for
or have we been deceived?
Are we really blind to all of this?
It makes no sense but we are
