Detectives have identified a body found in a Preston rubbish bin on the weekend as a 44-year-old man from Broadmeadows.
A garbage truck driver made the grim discovery shortly after 8am on Saturday when he emptied the bin, left on the corner of Young and Butler streets, into the back of his garbage truck.
Flight MH128 passenger and former AFL star Andrew Leoncelli tried to help staff contain a man who allegedly threatened staff on a Malaysia-bound flight.

The screams of the driver were heard by neighbours in the street.
The strongest lead homicide squad detectives initially had on the identity of the body was a distinctive Korean pop band T-shirt the dead man was wearing.
Police also thought he was in his 40s, Caucasian and was also wearing Everlast tracksuit pants.
On Tuesday, police said they have now identified him as a 44-year-old man from Broadmeadows in Melbourne's north, a little over 10 kilometres away from where he was found dead. Police have not yet released the man's name.

However, it's believed the bin he was found in is from the local council area, Darebin, but not from either Young or Butler Street.
Neighbours said the bin wasn't there during the day on Thursday, but they noticed it sitting there on Friday morning.

Between then and Saturday morning, another resident reported the misplaced bin to the local council, who then sent the garbage truck driver to pick it up on Saturday morning.
