An anthem is a musical composition of celebration, usually used as a symbol for a distinct group, particularly the national anthems of countries. Originally, and in music theory and religious contexts, it also refers more particularly to short sacred choral work and still more particularly to a specific form of Anglican church music.
Anthem is derived from the Greek ἀντίφωνα (antíphōna) via Old English antefn. Both words originally referred to antiphons, a call-and-response style of singing. The adjectival form is "anthemic".
Anthems were originally a form of liturgical music. In the Church of England, the rubric appoints them to follow the third collect at morning and evening prayer. Several anthems are included in the British coronation service. The words are selected from Holy Scripture or in some cases from the Liturgy and the music is generally more elaborate and varied than that of psalm or hymn tunes. Being written for a trained choir rather than the congregation, the Anglican anthem is analogous to the motet of the Roman Catholic and Lutheran Churches but represents an essentially English musical form. Anthems may be described as "verse", "full", or "full with verse", depending on whether they are intended for soloists, the full choir, or both.
A national anthem (also state anthem, national hymn, national song etc.) is a generally patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation's government as the official national song, or by convention through use by the people. The majority of national anthems are either marches or hymns in style. The countries of Latin America tend towards more operatic pieces, while a handful of countries use a simple fanfare.
Although national anthems are usually in the most common language of the country, whether de facto' or official, there are notable exceptions-
States with more than one national language may offer several versions of their anthem: for instance, Switzerland's anthem has different lyrics for each of the country's four official languages (French, German, Italian and Romansh). Canada's national anthem has different lyrics in each of the country's official languages (English and French), and on some occasions is sung with a mixture of stanzas taken from its French and English versions. The Irish national anthem was written in English; an Irish translation, although never formally adopted, is now almost always sung.

SSSR) or shortened to the Soviet Union (Russian: Сове́тский Сою́з, tr. Sovetskij Soyuz; IPA: [sɐ'vʲetskʲɪj sɐˈjʉs]), was a Marxist–Leninist state on the Eurasian continent that existed between 1922 and 1991. A union of multiple subnational Soviet republics, its government and economy were highly centralized. The Soviet Union was a one-party state, governed by the Communist Party with Moscow as its capital.

Here's an overview of anthems in the video. #11 - Gong Jin'ou - This is the only Oriental anthem on this list. It was first adopted by Qing dynasty of China in 1911, one year before the abolition of monarchy in China and the establishment of the Republic of China, making this the most short-lived anthem on this list. #10 - God Save the Tsar! - This was the anthem of the Russian Empire. The song was actually first chosen out of a contest held in 1833. It's use as a national anthem ended after the Russian Revolution of 1917. #9 - Hej, Sloveni - This was first written by Samuel Tomášik in 1834. It was used as the anthem of the Pan-Slavic movement of the 19th century and the Sokol physical education and political movement. But it wasn't adopted by any sovereign nation until it was adopted b...
I love national anthems, and I like to think I've heard a lot of them. I know I haven't heard every national anthem in the world, though, so if you know of one that you think should make the list, comment and maybe I'll make a new video. Feel free to comment, like, dislike, whatever you want to do, but please don't dislike because your country isn't in the video. Mine isn't, either.

She walks her feet through tired streets
Be careful not to break the glass
She's a twenty-fucking-something, just hungry for loving
She is fresh trash, more than pure class
So stop me before I hurt myself
I am a picture of perfect health
And even though I hate being alone
I still wouldn't take you home
She speaks only lies, through straining eyes
Is careful not t ruin her charm
She makes the devil run through me, she has the cruelest of beauty
She is the needle, not the vein in your arm
So stop me before I hurt myself
I am a picture of perfect health
And even though I hate being alone
I still wouldn't take you home
