Andrea (/ˈændriə, ˈɑːn-, ɑːnˈdreɪə/) is a given name which is common worldwide, cognate to Andrew.
It is traditionally popular because, according to the Christian Bible, Saint Andrew was one of the earliest disciples of Jesus and one of the twelve Apostles.
It derives from the Greek ἀνήρ (anēr), genitive ἀνδρός (andrós), that indicates the man as opposed to the woman (while man in the meaning of human being is ἄνθρωπος, ánthropos, ἀνθρώπου, anthrópou). The original male Greek name, Andréas, (directly etymologically related to andras/άνδρας, man/adult male, husband) represents the hypocoristic, with endearment functions, of male Greek names composed with the andr- prefix, like Androgeos (man of the earth), Androcles (man of glory), Andronikos (man of victory). The same root ἀνδρ-, andr- denoting the male gender is found e.g. in misandry (the hatred of the male sex), andrology (male physiology), androgens (male hormones) and polyandry (the practice of taking more than one husband at the same time).
The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American psychedelic rock band formed in San Francisco in 1988 and led by frontman Anton Newcombe.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre began as a shoegaze group in San Francisco in 1988. After their debut and sophomore albums, the group quickly turned to a broader style of psychedelic rock, incorporating folk rock and, later, electronica influences. The name "Brian Jonestown Massacre" is a portmanteau of The Rolling Stones' founder and guitarist Brian Jones and the infamous mass cult suicide in Jonestown, Guyana. The band have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships and the drug addiction of their leader, Anton Newcombe.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre's debut album, Spacegirl & Other Favorites was a vinyl only release in 1993 with a limited run of 500 copies. The album includes the song "Hide and Seek", the only single released from the album in 1994. The band's follow-up album, Methodrone, was heavily influenced by the shoegaze genre that had gained prominence several years prior to its release. The album's dreamy rock sound is comparable to bands such as Galaxie 500, Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine. Two tracks from the album, "She Made Me" and "Evergreen", had been released as a double A-side single in 1992.
"Jonestown" was the informal name for the Peoples Temple Agricultural Project formed by the Peoples Temple, an American religious organization under the leadership of Jim Jones, in northwestern Guyana. It became internationally notorious when on November 18, 1978, over 900 people died in the remote commune, at the nearby airstrip in Port Kaituma, and in Georgetown, Guyana's capital city. The name of the settlement became synonymous with the incidents at those locations.
A total of 909 Americans died in Jonestown, all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning, in an event termed "revolutionary suicide" by Jones and some members on an audio tape of the event and in prior discussions. The poisonings in Jonestown followed the murder of five others by Temple members at Port Kaituma, including United States Congressman Leo Ryan. Four other Temple members died in Georgetown at Jones' command.
To a certain extent, the actions in Jonestown were viewed as a mass suicide; some sources, including Jonestown survivors, regard the event as a mass murder. It was the largest such event in modern history and resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until September 11, 2001. In recent years, the Jonestown massacre has been the subject of several conspiracy theories.
Last Warning is an album by hardcore punk band, Agnostic Front. It was released in 1993 on Relativity Records, marketed by Roadrunner Records, and follows 1992's studio album, One Voice.
The first eleven tracks – often consisting of two songs strung together – were recorded live in December, 1992 at CBGB. The remainder of the CD is the band's 1983 7" EP, United Blood. It contrasts the later crossover thrash style the band had adopted in later releases with the raw New York hardcore style of their debut release. The album was originally intended to be the band's last release, but they reformed some five years later and released the album Something's Gotta Give.
White Music is the debut studio album by the English band XTC. It was released on 20 January 1978 and reached No. 38 in the UK album charts. It spawned the singles "Statue of Liberty" (released 6 January 1978) which was banned by the BBC for the line "sail beneath your skirt" and a re-recording of "This Is Pop?" (released 21 April 1978).
A German import, ca. 1991, includes these same tracks but in a different order: the first eleven tracks as the original release (Radios in Motion as track 1, Science Friction as track 7, through Heatwave as track 11), followed by the bonus tracks Traffic Light Rock through Neon Shuffle as tracks 12-19 respectively. Another release (CAR 50691) uses slightly different song titles: "New Town Animal In A Furnished Cage", "Into the Atomic Age", "Hang onto the Night", "Science Fiction"; in some countries, the same differences in titles are applied to the CDVX2095 edition.

I suppose if I were to be really exacting, the name of this movie would be: "Keeping Up with the iJoneses #2: Varispeed performs Robert Ashley's "Perfect Lives (Private Parts), an opera in seven episodes, episode six: "The Living Room" at James Simon's studio as part of the PFNM (Pittsburgh Festival of New Music), Thursday, May 22, 2014". Why "Keeping Up with the iJoneses"? Because I shot it with my cell-phone, something I call my iJones because even having one at all is my version of ""Keeping Up with the iJoneses", a variation on what some of you may recognize as "Keeping Up with the Joneses" which, back in the day, meant buying shit you don't necessarily 'need' because your neighbors & 'peers' have it & you don't want to seem stuck in an old-fashioned life-style (not really my reason fo...
