Chesney Hawkes

Chesney Lee Hawkes (born 22 September 1971), is an English pop singer, songwriter, and occasional actor. He is best known for his 1991 single "The One and Only", which topped the UK Singles Chart, and reached the Top 10 in the United States.

Life and career

Hawkes was born in Windsor, Berkshire, to Carol (née Dilworth) and Leonard Hawkes. Chesney was named after the singer and comedian Chesney Allen. His father is the singer Len 'Chip' Hawkes, formerly with the 1960s band The Tremeloes. His mother is former actress/game show hostess, Carol Dilworth, who appeared in an episode of the 1960s version of Randall and Hopkirk called "For The Girl Who Has Everything", as well as the 1969 horror movie The Haunted House of Horror. Keely Hawkes, his sister, was the lead singer of 1990s band Transister, and is currently a songwriter based in Los Angeles. He attended Charters School in Sunningdale.

Hawkes's career began at 19, when he appeared as the title character in the film Buddy's Song. In March 1991, he released his biggest single "The One and Only" from the film's soundtrack, on which his younger brother, Jodie, was the drummer. Written by Nik Kershaw, the song was later featured in the opening credits of Doc Hollywood (1991), starring Michael J. Fox; in the 2009 movie Moon, as the song Sam Rockwell wakes up to every morning; and again in the 2011 film Source Code (also directed by Moon director Duncan Jones) as the cell phone ringtone of Michelle Monaghan's character. The single spent five weeks at No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart. He has released eight singles including "I'm a Man Not a Boy" and "Another Fine Mess".

Brass Knuckles (album)

Brass Knuckles is the fifth studio album by American recording artist Nelly, released on September 16, 2008. The album cover was voted the 'Sexiest Album Cover Women Play Themselves To' in the Playboy Bunnies Convention in 2009. In 2008 Nelly embarked on The Brass Knuckles Tour in support of the album.

Background

Production was set to come from Bryan-Michael Cox, Neff-U and Pharrell, among others. Nelly mentioned in an interview that producer Polow da Don produced tracks for the album. On March 30, Nelly told HipHopDX.com that "the album would feature a handful of new producers." Nelly was unable to collaborate with Springsteen but he is still hopeful to collaborate with him on a future album, or even a repackage of Brass Knuckles. Dupri gave a look into the two collaborations, one being Nelly, Carey and Jackson all appearing on the same track, in which he stated Nelly has laid the following blueprint.

Nelly's got a crazy collaboration he's trying to put together, which is him, Janet and Mariah Carey all on one song...That's what he wants. If he could convince them to do it, it would be crazy. [He] wants [Janet] to rap a 16-bar verse, he wants [Mariah] to sing the hook and he's gonna do two verses. [He] has it all planned out. You ask him about it! This is what he wants; he's 100-percent deadlocked into it.

Only for You (Show Luo album)

Only for You (Chinese: 獨一無二; pinyin: dú yī wú èr) is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Show Luo's (Chinese: 羅志祥) eighth Mandarin studio album. It was released on 18 February 2011 by Gold Typhoon (Taiwan). The album was available for preorder from 28 January 2011 in two limited editions, of 30,000 copies each with serial numbers and photobook: Only For You (Gentry Love Edition) (獨一無二 紳情款款版) and Only For You (Flower World Edition) (獨一無二 花花仕界版). For the first time the first lead track is a ballad "拼什麼" (What Am I Fighting For?).

A further two editions were released by Gold Typhoon: Only for You (10001st Night Celebration Edition) (2CD) on 18 March 2011 with two new tracks and Only for You (MV Collectable Edition) (CD+DVD) on 6 May 2011 with nine music videos and photobook. The Japanese edition, Only for You (Japanese Edition) was released on 20 July 2011 by Pony Canyon, which included a special bonus track of the Japanese version of title track "獨一無二" (Only You) and a DVD with 10 music videos.
