As a seventh grader at Crossroads School for the Arts, he began exploring percussion when a friend told Alec that he was starting a band, and that he was looking for a drummer.

Getting By is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from March 5, 1993 until May 21, 1993, and on NBC from September 21, 1993 until June 18, 1994. The series was created by William Bickley and Michael Warren, who also served as executive producers with Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett. The final Miller-Boyett series to begin its run under parent studio Lorimar Television, Getting By was folded into Warner Bros. Television for its second season, following Warner Bros.' absorption of Lorimar.
The series was initially successful as a part of ABC's TGIF lineup in its first season, but politics between ABC and Miller-Boyett Productions led to the show's switch to NBC in the second season.
The show was about two best friends and single mothers, one white and one black, who inadvertently are sold the same house and both decide to live there with their families. The women, widowed Dolores Dixon (Telma Hopkins) and Cathy Hale (Cindy Williams), whose husband ran off with another woman, were also co-workers, employed as social workers for the Chicago Department of Welfare. The unique living situation went off without too much of a hitch, especially with the kids, although there were the normal pains, squabbles, and adjustments expected with the territory. Dolores had two sons, Marcus (Merlin Santana) and Darren (Deon Richmond). Cathy had two daughters, Nikki (Nicki Vannice) and Julie (Ashleigh Blair Sterling).
The Art (sometimes stylised as THEART) are an Australian Alternative Rock band based in Sydney. They began performing under the name The Follow in 2004. Tasmanian band leader Azaria Byrne was known as an unsuccessful contestant on the reality television series Popstars.
Early highlights for the band's career have been supporting successful bands such as the Pixies, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Sonic Youth and Thirty Seconds to Mars as late as 2010, however this was marred by the crowd booing and calls to "get off the stage".
As band leader Azaria Byrne enters middle age success has so far eluded him despite media attention resulting from his being cuckolded by the even older fading celebrity Bill Corgan.
The other band members have all been described as "dull" but this could also be a result of the attention seeking behavior of their singer.
The Art of Getting By is a 2011 romantic comedy-drama film starring Freddie Highmore, Emma Roberts, Michael Angarano, Elizabeth Reaser, Sam Robards, Rita Wilson and Blair Underwood. It is the first feature by writer-director Gavin Wiesen. The film premiered under the title Homework at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
George (Freddie Highmore) is a loner high school student with a penchant for drawing and skipping class. He has a nihilistic view of the world which is why he never does homework and skips school frequently. His academic delinquency puts him on academic probation. One day while on the school roof he encounters another classmate, Sally (Emma Roberts), smoking. When a teacher appears, George pulls out a cigarette and takes the fall for Sally. The two become friends. On career day, George meets a young artist, Dustin, and finds him inspiring. He brings Sally with him to visit Dustin at his studio in Brooklyn and it becomes apparent that Dustin finds Sally attractive. Sally invites George to a New Year's Eve party. At the party, she dances with an ex-boyfriend and George gets drunk, goes outside, throws up, and falls asleep in an alley. Sally finds him there and takes him to her place, putting him to bed on a pull-out next to her bed. They grow close and George gets more involved in school.
Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000), which was certified diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Their following studio album Meteora continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium.Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade chart. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as the Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now by Kerrang!.
Having adapted nu metal and rap metal to a radio-friendly yet densely layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third-best debut week of any album that year. The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types in their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds and beats. Their fifth album, Living Things (2012), combines musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth and most recent album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound. The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay Z in their mashup EP Collision Course, and many others on the remix albums Reanimation and Recharged. Linkin Park has sold over 68 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

This is a demo track done somewhere between '96 and '99 by Deadsy's old drummer Alec Puro. I really don't know much else about this track other than that, so if anyone's got any info about these sessions, do share :) I really like this song, I kinda wish he'd put together an album or something. Currently, Alec writes and produces music for film and TV shows.

The art of getting by "Long Dark Night"
Don’t stand there on your pride
And tell me everything’s alright ‘cause
I don’t wanna be the one
To waste your time
Don’t think that you’re the only guy
Who comes around
When my world falls down
‘Cause sometimes the silence is too loud
But baby I would’ve walked the world to know you
I would’ve lied through my eyes to show you
But I swear to God I will walk away
I swear to heaven above nothing will stand in my way
If you don’t show me the love just to believe all the things you say baby
I swear to God I will walk away
God knows I tried so hard
Just to stay right here
Just to face my fears when
The whole world just makes me wanna die
It’s so strange the way you are
The way you care
You make me wanna stay
Right here yeah -yeah oh
But baby I would’ve walked the world to know you
I would’ve lied through my eyes to show you
But I swear to God I will walk away
I swear to heaven above nothing will stand in my way
If you don’t show me the love just to believe all the things you say baby
I swear to God I will walk away
And if we’re only us for a while
Yeah if it’s just you and me if I could make it worth your while
And baby for all the times that you made me cry
If I was ever without you I would fall apart inside yeah
But baby I would’ve walked the world to know you
I would’ve lied through my eyes to show you
But I swear to God I will walk away
I swear to heaven above nothing will stand in my way
If you don’t show me the love just to believe all the things you say baby
