You Rascal You

"You Rascal You" is an American song written by Sam Theard in 1931 or 1929 and legally titled "I'll Be Glad When You're Dead." The lyrics take the form of threats and complaints leveled against a man who has repaid the singer's hospitality and kindness by running off with the singer's wife.

It has been covered by Clarence Willams, Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan, Jimmie Noone, Cab Calloway, Louis Prima, John Fogerty, Dr. John, Henry "Rufe" Johnson, Serge Gainsbourg, Ingrid Michaelson, Eddy Mitchell, Taj Mahal, and Hanni El Khatib, whose version is being used in a TV ad.

Sam Theard made a follow-up song in 1930 titled I Done Caught That Rascal Now

Film

The song is played by Louis Armstrong in the Betty Boop cartoon I'll Be Glad When You're Dead, You Rascal You (1932).

The song is can also be found in the Gary Cooper movie, The General Died at Dawn (1936). Part of this song is sung by the character Brighton, played by William Frawley.

Dharani (director)

Dharani (born Ramani) is an Indian film director, who primarily directs action-masala films. He is best known for directing the blockbuster films Dhill, Dhool and Ghilli.

Career

He first directed the film Ethirum Pudhirum, loosely based on forest brigand Veerappan and his younger brother's death, starring Mammootty. Financial constraints and political controversies ensured its delayed release in 1999. It received critical acclaim and was awarded second place in the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film. The film's producer Purna Chandra Rao made Dharani the director of his next production, starring Vikram, Dhill. The film was a box-office success and his next film Dhool, produced by A. M. Rathnam in 2003, again with Vikram along with Jyothika, turned out to be a blockbuster. He worked with A. M. Rathnam again for the film Ghilli starring Vijay and Trisha which was again a blockbuster. It was followed by Telugu film Bangaram, featuring Pawan Kalyan in the lead, that received below average reviews. In 2008, he directed Kuruvi, rejoining the lead cast of Ghilli. Unlike the previous success in Ghilli, Kuruvi got a large opening and was declared a blockbuster by completing 150 days at the Boxoffice. In 2011, he remade the 2010 Hindi blockbuster Dabangg in Tamil as Osthe, with Silambarasan in the lead role.

Rascal (video game)

Rascal, known as Bubblegun Kid (バブルガンキッド) in Japan, is a platform game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Psygnosis (Takara in Japan) and was released for the PlayStation in Europe on March 1998, in North America on March 31, 1998 and in Japan on March 18, 1999. The main character and several enemies were designed by the Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

Plot

Professor Clockwise is in his lab making the final adjustments to his time travelling device, but a large shadow creeps up behind him. Meanwhile, his son Callum "Rascal" Clockwise is walking through a secret route under the house to get to his father's lab when suddenly the lights go out and an alarm sounds. Rascal rushes down to see the problem, but to his horror two aliens in spacecraft appear and chase him down the corridor.

Rascal finally makes it to his father's lab by going through the safe door entrance. He sees Chronon the evil master of time torturing his dad and holding him at gunpoint with another of his dad's inventions called the "Bubble Gun", but the villain accidentally activates the controls for the time machine and he and the Professor are sucked into the portal. The Bubble Gun manages to be released from the portal and lands at Rascal's feet, he picks it up, vowing to save his dad.
