Queensland Rail worker dies after being hit by train

A Queensland Rail trackwork crewman has been struck and killed by a passenger train as he worked a late-night maintenance shift in Brisbane.

Queensland Rail chief executive officer Nick Easy on Tuesday expressed his sympathies to the man's family and friends.

He said QR was working with investigators, including the Rail Regulator, to examine the cause of the incident at Petrie at 10.30pm on Monday.
