Ummah (Arabic: أمة) is an Arabic word meaning "community". It is distinguished from Sha'b (Arabic: شعب) which means a nation with common ancestry or geography. Thus, it can be said to be a supra-national community with a common history.
It is a synonym for ummat al-Islamiyah (Arabic: الأمة الإسلامية) (the Islamic Community), and it is commonly used to mean the collective community of Islamic peoples. In the Quran the ummah typically refers to a single group that shares common religious beliefs, specifically those that are the objects of a divine plan of salvation. In the context of Pan-Islamism and politics, the word Ummah can be used to mean the concept of a Commonwealth of the Believers (أمة المؤمنين ummat al-mu'minīn).
The word Ummah refers to "the people" in Arabic, more specifically to Muslim people with a common ideology and culture. "Ummah" is also said in the Quran by Allah referring to Muslims. It is more commonly used in Islamic countries. Muslim Ummah refers to the unity of Muslims all over the world. The Muslim Ummah is responsible for upholding the religion and therefore benefiting the community regardless whether the community is Muslim or non-Muslim.
Ahmadiyya (/ɑːməˈdiə/; officially, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community or the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at; Arabic: الجماعة الإسلامية الأحمدية, transliterated: al-Jamā'ah al-Islāmiyyah al-Aḥmadiyyah; Urdu: احمدیہ مسلم جماعت) is an Islamic religious movement founded in Punjab, British India near the end of the 19th century. It originated with the life and teachings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835–1908), who claimed to have appeared in fulfilment of the prophecies concerning the world's reformer during the end times, who was to bring about, by peaceful means, the final triumph of Islam and herald the eschaton as predicted in Islamic scriptures as well as the traditions of various world religions. He claimed that he was the Mujaddid (renewer) of Islam, the promised Messiah and Mahdi awaited by Muslims. The adherents of the Ahmadiyya movement are referred to as Ahmadi Muslims or simply Ahmadis.
Ahmadi thought emphasizes the belief that Islam is the final dispensation for humanity as revealed to Muhammad and the necessity of restoring to it its true essence and pristine form, which had been lost through the centuries. Ahmadiyya adherents believe that Ahmad appeared in the likeness of Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice, and peace. They believe that upon divine guidance he divested Islam of fanatical and innovative beliefs and practices by championing what is, in their view, Islam’s true and essential teachings as practised by Muhammad and the early Islamic community. Thus, Ahmadis view themselves as leading the revival and peaceful propagation of Islam.
The Hui people (Chinese: 回族; pinyin: Huízú, Xiao'erjing: خُوِذُو/حواري, Dungan: Хуэйзў/Huejzw) are a predominantly Muslim ethnic group in China. Hui people are found throughout the country, though they are concentrated mainly in the Northwestern provinces and the Zhongyuan. According to a 2011 census, China is home to approximately 10.5 million Hui people, the majority of whom are Chinese-speaking practitioners of Islam, though some practice other religions.
Hui people are ethnically and linguistically similar to Han Chinese with the exception that most of them practice Islam, engendering distinctive cultural characteristics. For example, as Muslims, they follow Islamic dietary laws and reject the consumption of pork, the most common meat consumed in China, and have given rise to their variation of Chinese cuisine; Chinese Islamic cuisine, as well as Muslim Chinese martial arts. Their mode of dress differs primarily in that old men wear white caps and old women wear headscarves, as is the case in many Islamic cultures, however most of the young people of Hui ancestry are practically indistinguishable from mainstream Han Chinese.
Prince Henry of Wales, KCVO (Henry Charles Albert David; born 15 September 1984), commonly known as Prince Harry, is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales. At the time of his birth, he was third in the line of succession to succeed his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, but is currently fifth in line after his nephew, George, and niece, Charlotte.
After an education at schools in the United Kingdom and spending parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho, Harry chose a military career, undergoing officer training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a Cornet into the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment, serving temporarily with his brother, and completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–2008, he served for 77 days in Helmand, Afghanistan but was pulled out following publication of his presence there by an Australian magazine. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–2013 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Peru has a small, but vibrant Muslim community. Some Muslims came with the Spanish colonizers, but they didn’t establish a community until waves of immigrants arrived in the 20th century, particularly after the occupation of Palestine in 1967. There are now approximately 18,000 Muslims living in Peru. A mosque established 25 years ago is a place to learn more about Muslim culture, education and religious practice. Some Peruvians have converted to Islam, and the community has been well-received in Peru, where mutual respect exists. While discrimination against Muslims is increasing in the United States and some other parts of the world, in Peru, people are finding spaces to come together and build communities. teleSUR http://multimedia.telesurtv.net/v/inside-the-americas-397003/

The Canadian Muslim community's reaction to me leaving Islam. I am an exmuslim atheist born in Kenya living in Canada now. I left Islam in July 2015. For the most part I did not receive any threats and the community was very peaceful towards me, but when I started making videos criticizing Islam, I started getting some online threats. I think Islam has some good things and bad things but overall it is not a religion from God. It is the invention of Prophet Muhammad. On The Stream: Muslims in France share how religious identity impacts their everyday life. More than 30 anti-Muslim hate incidents, ranging from assaults on women to graffiti on mosques, have been reported across France since the Paris attacks that left at least 129 people dead. However, Islamophobic acts are not a new phenomenon in the country. Just in the first nine months of 2015, the number of reported incidents tripled compared to the previous year. Following the recent attacks, French officials vowed to dissolve “radical” mosques and some politicians called for a crackdown on Muslim communities. But what does this mean for the majority of Muslims, many of whom which feel they already live under a magnifying glass? In recent years, the French government has made dialogue efforts and...

As Muslims in the west living in the 21st century our challenges are different to those before us. The problems we face internally within the Muslim community and the threats that attack us from external sources are unique problems for which we require unique solutions. The quantity of young Muslims that leave the faith in our times is astounding, and as for the major sins of alcohol, drugs and pornography that is destroying our youth, the statistics would shock any one of us. Internally many in the Muslim community suffer from a spiritual weakness and an overall disconnect from God by overindulging in the sins of the body to fill the emptiness inside of them. From the outside we have external issues such as Islamophobia whereby conservative practising Muslims are banned from practising ...
