A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.

Susan Sarandon set the red carpet on fire at the Cannes Film Festival proving she's still got it at 70-years-old. Sarandon wore an off the shoulder green velvet dress. The actress also posted a Throwback Thursday showcasing herself at the film festival in 1979 as she wore a blazer with nothing underneath. Sarandon documented her 2017 Cannes experience on Instagram and the one and only, Uma Thurman also proved that age is nothing but a number. At 47, she wore a shoulder skimming soft pink dress.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Looks Like a Princess Straight Out Of A Fairy Tale At Cannes 2017 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has a record of taking Cannes by the storm - sometimes with her ethnic wear, sometimes with her unconventional choices. The first two looks from the day got her fans pretty curious to know what she'll wear when she walks the red carpet and to her fans' delight, the third look, seems to be the most glamorous of them all. There's no stopping Aishwarya at the French Riviera and this choice is a testament to that. She looked ethereal as ...

“Happy” was the theme we were given by the organizers for this year's F5 Re:Play Fest ( http://f5fest.com ), held in April in NYC, to create this edition's pieces, probably the hardest thing to convey in any artistic expression. After a good deal of introspection, and teaming up with awesome motion graphics artist Gerardo del Hierro, we decided that happy wasn't happy for Physalia unless pliers, microchips and a bit of soldering were involved, and with this idea we resolved to create the happiest machine Physalia has built to date.
