Unblinking Ear Records Update: SAVAK, Big Quiet Tour, new SWIVS video

Since October, Unblinking Ear Records has been posting a monthly name your price digital single series to our bandcamp page called Office Supplies. We've already included contributions from Honey Radar, SWIVS, Summer Saints, Snowmans of Love and Wheels on Meals and this month we're very proud to bring you to bring you SAVAK. The band features former members of Obits, Edsel, Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists and too many others to count. The veterans' new project have been impressively rocking NYC clubs for the past year and are releasing their debut LP Best of Luck in Future Endeavors on the Comedy Minus One label in May. While we certainly look forward to hearing it, we are even more excited to bring you the non-album track "Keys to the City." Download the tune and be sure to catch SAVAK next week at South By Southwest!

Office Supplies coming soon:
April: Sex Tide
May: The Zoltars

You should all know by know how insanely talented Will Schalda aka SWIVS is. As if last year's Free Period Blood Money wasn't enough evidence, SWIVS have an incredible new song and video called "Place To Myself" from the album Gringo Landfill, due to be released later this year. Not only is Will responsible for the tune but he also write, shot and edited the video himself using his only iPhone as a camera. And I'll just casually mention that he also contributed keyboards and vocals to the forthcoming Charles Bradley LP, Changes

Finally, you should all know WFMU, the greatest radio station in the world, is currently having their annual fundraising marathon. I'll be co-hosting Burn It Down! with Nate K. this Sunday, March 13th from 6am to 9am EST but any time is a great time to donate. Open your hearts and wallets and keep freeform, listener-supported radio alive for another year!

Unblinking Ear Records posts second entry in Office Supplies digital single series. Big Quiet up for Artist of the Month on The Deli NYC.

Last month Unblinking Ear Recorded debuted its new digital single series Office Supplies with "Staycation" by Snowmans of Love. We've just posted our second entry which comes from SWIVS. "The Screwjob of Montreal" recounts the circumstances under which Bret Hart left the World Wrestling Federation, the anniversary of which was 18 years ago yesterday. Like all of the Office Supplies series, it's available as a name your price download from the Unblinking Ear Records bandcamp. SWIVS' debut full length, Free Period Blood Money, is still available as a name your price download as well. (A handful of cassette copies also remain available).

Next month's Office Supplies installment: Honey Radar!

ig Quiet is currently nominated for November artist of the month at The Deli NYC. Last month The Deli premiered their video for "Maura & Dana," directed by Shannon Lintner, and the band was featured on the website's Garage/Slacker Rock CMJ stage.
