LA Weekly is a free weekly tabloid-sized alternative weekly in Los Angeles, California. It is currently owned by Voice Media Group, owner of "alternative weeklies" Village Voice, LA Weekly, Denver Westword, Phoenix New Times, Houston Press, Dallas Observer, Riverfront Times, Miami New Times, Minneapolis City Pages, Broward New Times, and OC Weekly. It is distributed every Thursday.
According to its website, LA Weekly has been the premier source for award-winning coverage of Los Angeles music, arts, film, theater, culture, concerts, [and] events." The LA Weekly also recognizes outstanding small theatre productions (99 seats or less) in Los Angeles, with their annual LA Weekly Theater Awards, established in 1979. Starting in 2006, LA Weekly has hosted the LA Weekly Detour Music Festival every October. The entire block surrounding Los Angeles City Hall is closed off to accommodate the festival's three stages.
Plato describes "The Form of the Good", or more literally "the idea of the good" (ἡ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ ἰδέα), in his dialogue the Republic (508e2–3), speaking through the character of Socrates. Plato introduces several forms in his works, but identifies the Form of the Good as the superlative. This form is the one that allows a philosopher-in-training to advance to a philosopher-king. It cannot be clearly seen or explained, but once it is recognized, it is the form that allows one to realize all the other forms.
The first references we see in The Republic to the Form of the Good can be found within the conversation between Glaucon and Socrates (454 c–d). When trying to answer such difficult questions pertaining to the definition of justice, Plato identifies that we should not “introduce every form of difference and sameness in nature” instead we must focus “on the one form of sameness and difference that was relevant to the particular ways of life themselves” which is the Form of the Good. This Form is the basis for understanding all other Forms, it is what allows us to understand everything else. Through the conversation between Socrates and Glaucon (508 a–c) Plato analogizes the Form of the Good with the sun as it is what allows us to see things. Here, Plato describes how the sun allows for sight. But he makes a very important distinction, “sun is not sight” but it is “the cause of sight itself.” As the sun is in the visible realm, the Form of Good is in the intelligible realm. It is “what gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower”. It is not only the “cause of knowledge and truth, it is also an object of knowledge”.

Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.

Yup, I love them! A good rant is telling you about your personal boundaries. Usually it's a boundary about how much heartache you're willing to watch or take part in: heartache because you can't watch someone you love hurt, or heartache because you can't let someone mistreat or disregard you any more. And that's awesome! Thank you judgmental angry rant! Now, I don't propose you share that rant with anyone. It doesn't need expression, it needs YOU to listen. It is a conversation between you and you. You need to learn about the boundary your anger is telling you about, and then you need space to let the anger subside... I am just thinking out loud. Look into these things yourself. Don't take anyone's word on it. Including mine. Truth must be sought, it never gives itself freely. To know how to live you must first practice living. I'm still practicing. But i live just the same. Have a good day everyone , I do love you all , so does the Great Father.

Bert rants to his therapist about how he just can't seem to escape an old friend from his childhood. This film was created as my signature project for my final year in Fairfax Academy's Film and TV Productions course. The idea was to make one big, final project which would incorporate everything that I've learned about filmmaking in my two years of taking the class. "Insanity" has been my most ambitious project to date and, while it was a fun and rewarding production, it has its fair share of mistakes. But with those mistakes have come many great learning experiences, and my future projects will only continue to improve. Enjoy the film, and I would love to hear what you think! (Good or bad).
Dark, disturbing and occasionally downright heartbreaking, this is an intriguingly written coming of age tale with a terrific, decidedly un-Juno-like central performance from Ellen Page. What's it all about? Mouth to Mouth stars Ellen Page as Sherry, a lip-ringed teenage runaway who joins a cult called SPARK (Street People Armed with Radical Knowledge) while bumming her way around Europe. Ostensibly SPARK seems dedicated to picking up homeless drug addicts and helping them get clean, but the charismatic leader, Harry (Eric Thal) keeps a suspiciously tight reign on his acolytes. Just as Sherry makes up her mind to leave, her attractive mother (Natasha Wightman) comes looking for her and ends up joining the cult herself, exacerbating the tension between mother and daughter. The Good Ellen...
