Oh for the glory days of ITV. World of Sport... Blind date... hmm. How did it get into so much trouble and how did it end up practically a penny share. Well, there's lots of reasons, and a couple of them maybe called Ant & Dec. No, seriously.
Has ITV got the X-factor? Shuffling the news about, even bringing back the great Sir Trevor McDonald to try and bring more eyeballs in. Michael Grade is not know for his association with failure so it could be a good time to look at the shares.
TVMOCKS2010 made a complaint that he owned copyright to one of The Central Cake Idents (as one was a repro), although they were credited on the page (and theirs is technically copyright of Central Independent Television under ITV Plc anyway!). As a result video 2 has been removed. Some people just dont get collaborative sharing (without profit). As a result, the collection of other logos, some real gems, will not be uploaded and other copies on YouTube are fuzzy at best. Included are Anglia TV, ATV, Border, Carlton, Central TV, Grampian TV, LWT, Thames TV, Southern TV, TVS, Yorkshire TV, ...

Among London’s biggest risers, ITV was up after the commercial television network behind the “Downton Abbey” and “Coronation Street” series posted a 39% jump in full-year pre-tax profit. The broadcaster said it will propose raising the annual dividend by 34% to 4.7 pence a share, along with a mil...

Latterly known as the King of the Ecréhous, Alphonse Le Gastelois was an agricultural worker from Jersey who lived in self-imposed exile on the reef for 14 years after being wrongly accused of a string of child sex attacks perpetrated by The Beast of Jersey. He had fled there, fearing for his life, after his cottage was burnt down in an act of arson. The attacks in Jersey continued, proving Alphonse's innocence until finally on July 10th 1971 the real criminal, Edward Paisnel, was caught and sentenced to 30 years imprisonment. By the time of this interview, Alphonse had been living there for seven years and had resigned himself to spending the rest of his life on the reef. Brian le Feuvre went out to meet him.
Albion Market was short-lived British soap opera, intended as a companion to Coronation Street on ITV. Coronation Street, ITV's perennial soap opera, celebrated its 25th anniversary in December 1985. Granada TV launched Albion Market on 30th August of that year, six months after the BBC's EastEnders. Albion Market was a "continuing drama series" - Granada TV had always refused to use the term "soap opera", considering it derogatory - that was set in a covered market in Salford, a city with a direct border across the River Irwell with Manchester, in the northwest of England. ITV is a commercial TV network in the United Kingdom.Launched in 1955 as Independent Television under the auspices of the Independent Television Authority to provide competition to the long established BBC, it is also the oldest commercial network in the UK.Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990 its legal name has been Channel 3, to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, namely BBC 1, BBC 2 and Channel 4.In part, the number 3 was assigned as television sets would usually be tuned so that the regional ITV station would be on the third button, with the other stations being allocated to the number within their name. ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- About the author(s): ITV plc License: Public domain ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- This channel is dedic...
A power cut knocks The West Country Tonight off-air. With none of the technical equipment working, the presenters Vanessa Cuddeford and Bob Cruwys read several stand-by items and have a studio chat with reporter Bob Constantine. With 15 minutes of the programme remaining they have no stand-bys left and the gallery equipment is still not working, so they are forced to hand over to Meridian Tonight. Ironically, one of the straps in the opening headlines reads 'POWER OFF' :-) If you don't want to watch the whole clip, the power cut occurs at 06:28. Broadcast on Thursday 29th March 2012.
