Brisbane cocaine syndicate busted: police

Twenty-seven people allegedly involved in a Brisbane cocaine trafficking syndicate have been arrested.

Detectives from the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch charged the group following a seven month investigation dubbed Operation Oscar Millibar.

Police laid a total of 124 charges after a series of raids across Brisbane over the past two days, where they seized cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and cash suspected from the sale of drugs.

Detective Inspector Glen Farmer from City Valley Crime Group said the operation had disrupted and dismantled a "sophisticated and well organised" drug trafficking syndicate.

The accused will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court in the coming weeks, while investigations continue.
