A behind the scenes look at the working dogs of the Telluride Ski Patrol. Follow the paw prints of Lady Bee, Sadie, Mona, Doris, Wiley and Bajuko on an avalanche rescue training mission in Telluride, Colorado. Telluride Avalanche Dogs play a unique and vital role in mountain rescue and safety education efforts in the Telluride community. Telluride Avalanche Dogs are trained to perform under pressure in rescue situations, providing a fast and effective means of locating buried avalanche victims - often faster and more effectively than their human counterparts.
TAD was granted a 501 c 3 non-profit status. Its purpose is to provide a funding stream for the hard working and highly trained rescue teams which provide 365 day coverage for emergencies in and around the Telluride region.

The ready-to-run truck rolls out on Kumho Road Venture replica tires for all-terrain grip on everything from dirt and grass to rocks and trails, and new suspension arms pull the wheels into the fender wheels for realistic proportions. The Telluride's sealed differentials are filled with 100K silicone fluid to resist diffing-out while rock crawling, but still allow for nimble high-speed handling.
The truck is geared for torque and the included 8.4v Power Cell battery provides plenty of rip--all the action in the video is with a box-stock truck using the included battery. We've only just begun testing the Telluride, but based on our video shoot (and our experience with the Stampede 4X4), we expect this to be a bang-for-the-buck favorite.

Telluride, Colorado
Coordinates: 37°56′21″N 107°48′59″W / 37.939153°N 107.816317°W / 37.939153; -107.816317
The town of Telluride is the county seat and most populous town of San Miguel County in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Colorado. The town is a former silver mining camp on the San Miguel River in the western San Juan Mountains. The first gold mining claim was made in the mountains above Telluride in 1875 and early settlement of what is now Telluride followed. The town itself was founded in 1878 as "Columbia", but due to confusion with a California town of the same name, was renamed Telluride in 1887, for the gold telluride minerals found in other parts of Colorado. These telluride minerals were never located near Telluride, causing the town to be named for a mineral which never was mined there. However, the area's mines for some years provided zinc, lead, copper, silver, and other gold ores.
Telluride sits in a box canyon. Steep forested mountains and cliffs surround it, with Bridal Veil Falls at the head of the canyon. Numerous weathered ruins of old mining operations dot the hillsides. A free gondola connects the town with its companion town, Mountain Village, Colorado, at the base of the ski area. Telluride and the surrounding area have featured prominently in pop culture. It is the subject of several popular songs. It is especially known for its ski resort and slopes during the winter as well as an extensive festival schedule during the summer.

Follow the paw prints of Lady Bee, Sadie, Mona, Doris, Wiley and Bajuko on an avalanche rescue training mission in Telluride, Colorado. Telluride Avalanche Dogs play a unique and vital role in mountain rescue and safety education efforts in the Telluride community. Telluride Avalanche Dogs are trained to perform under pressure in rescue situations, providing a fast and effective means of locating buried avalanche victims - often faster and more effectively than their human counterparts.
TAD was granted a 501 c 3 non-profit status. Its purpose is to provide a funding stream for the hard working and highly trained rescue teams which provide 365 day coverage for emergencies in and around the Telluride region.

The ready-to-run truck rolls out on Kumho Road Venture replica tires for all-terrain grip on everything from dirt and grass to rocks and trails, and new suspension arms pull the wheels into the fender wheels for realistic proportions. The Telluride's sealed differentials are filled with 100K silicone fluid to resist diffing-out while rock crawling, but still allow for nimble high-speed handling.
The truck is geared for torque and the included 8.4v Power Cell battery provides plenty of rip--all the action in the video is with a box-stock truck using the included battery. We've only just begun testing the Telluride, but based on our video shoot (and our experience with the Stampede 4X4), we expect this to be a bang-for-the-buck favorite.
