▶ I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the Gobi desert, and then decided to stop walking for now.
▶ All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
▶ I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
▶ Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
▶ This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.

As part of my BFA project I created this short promotional piece inviting local high school students to participate in a hands on art workshop for UVYou Days. The bulk of the video was created using stop motion, shot with a DSLR camera. The photos were then compiled in After Effects and animated.
Special thanks to my wonderful wife for helping me set up and shoot over a thousand still frames late into multiple evenings.

One of my favorite things after a summer of chasing storms in Arizona is to release a short film of my time-lapse work during that time. I've released two of those now and I can't wait to see what happened this coming monsoon season. Last year was the first time I was able to time-lapse while I chased outside of Arizona, on the central plains, which ended up being a very short film of a single, amazing storm near Booker, Texas: https://vimeo.com/67995158 This year on the plains, I wanted more time and more clips of the wide variety of weather out there. So between two trips in April and May, I spent a total of seven days in the central plains of this country, which included Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Texas. From I-70 to I-10. And everywhere in-between. It was an amazing time and I essentially got something everyday we were out. Some days were amazing...like wall clouds with reported tornadoes approaching the Denver International Airport...or an awesome, red sunet on a marginal day in western Kansas. On one of our last days, it was a ridiculously blue hail core which you'll see in a few separate clips. My journey wasn't solo...my buddy Andy Hoeland helped forecast and get us to the storms, and Matt Granz was a fellow photographer who made sure we pulled over at certain spots when I was too intent on chasing down a storm. I brought along an eMotimo for the trip, but I forgot my power cord for the battery and wasn't able to get a replacement while out there. Regardless...most of the clips you see would have been lost if I'd taken even an extra few minutes setting up a panning head or dolly. Time-lapsing storms is a different beast than setting up for a Milky Way shot over the course of the night. I used two Canon 5D Mark III's, along with a Canon 17-40, 16-35 and a Rokinon 14mm. A couple of Manfrotto tripods and mainly a Pixel Intervalometer along with a Promote Control when I broke the Pixel :) This trip took us over 3000 miles in the course of those seven days. It was something I wont forget and I hope this film showcases a lot of the hard work that went into chasing the storms themselves, getting ourselves in the right spots for the best shots and recording them as quickly as I could. If I have any regrets...it would be that I wish I would have seen another more picturesque supercell mothership and maybe a tornado. On the first trip I also failed to clean my sensors, which resulted in a few dust spots. My second, five-day trip, I cleaned them before I went and during the trip. I struggle with dust spots, because if you spot remove in Lightroom, you can get funny results...so which is better? The dust spot or funky changing dots that might be even more noticeable? I also used Adobe Premiere Pro for the first time ever and I have to say, it was a way better experience than editing in Final Cut Pro. In fact I'm uninstalling that here in a bit. I had just got home after being seriously ill in hospital for 6 months and it seemed to be a good way to keep a photographic journal of my recovery. ▶ I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the Gobi desert, and then decided to stop walking for now.
▶ All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
▶ I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
▶ Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
▶ This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.

As part of my BFA project I created this short promotional piece inviting local high school students to participate in a hands on art workshop for UVYou Days. The bulk of the video was created using stop motion, shot with a DSLR camera. The photos were then compiled in After Effects and animated.
Special thanks to my wonderful wife for helping me set up and shoot over a thousand still frames late into multiple evenings.

One of my favorite things after a summer of chasing storms in Arizona is to release a short film of my time-lapse work during that time. I've released two of those now and I can't wait to see what happened this coming monsoon season.
Last year was the first time I was able to time-lapse while I chased outside of Arizona, on the central plains, which ended up being a very short film of a single, amazing storm near Booker, Texas: https://vimeo.com/67995158
This year on the plains, I wanted more time and more clips of the wide variety of weather out there. So between two trips in April and May, I spent a total of seven days in the central plains of this country, which included Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Texas. From I-70 to I-10. And everywhere in-between.
It was an amazing time and I essentially got something everyday we were out. Some days were amazing...like wall clouds with reported tornadoes approaching the Denver International Airport...or an awesome, red sunet on a marginal day in western Kansas. On one of our last days, it was a ridiculously blue hail core which you'll see in a few separate clips.
My journey wasn't solo...my buddy Andy Hoeland helped forecast and get us to the storms, and Matt Granz was a fellow photographer who made sure we pulled over at certain spots when I was too intent on chasing down a storm.
I brought along an eMotimo for the trip, but I forgot my power cord for the battery and wasn't able to get a replacement while out there. Regardless...most of the clips you see would have been lost if I'd taken even an extra few minutes setting up a panning head or dolly. Time-lapsing storms is a different beast than setting up for a Milky Way shot over the course of the night.
I used two Canon 5D Mark III's, along with a Canon 17-40, 16-35 and a Rokinon 14mm. A couple of Manfrotto tripods and mainly a Pixel Intervalometer along with a Promote Control when I broke the Pixel :)
This trip took us over 3000 miles in the course of those seven days. It was something I wont forget and I hope this film showcases a lot of the hard work that went into chasing the storms themselves, getting ourselves in the right spots for the best shots and recording them as quickly as I could.
If I have any regrets...it would be that I wish I would have seen another more picturesque supercell mothership and maybe a tornado.
On the first trip I also failed to clean my sensors, which resulted in a few dust spots. My second, five-day trip, I cleaned them before I went and during the trip. I struggle with dust spots, because if you spot remove in Lightroom, you can get funny results...so which is better? The dust spot or funky changing dots that might be even more noticeable?
I also used Adobe Premiere Pro for the first time ever and I have to say, it was a way better experience than editing in Final Cut Pro. In fact I'm uninstalling that here in a bit.

64 Days Learnt
It's been 3 years since we set off for a 2 and a half month trip to North West America & Canada to indulge in National Parks, Wildlife & Culture. We've put together a selection of our favourite moments that will stick with us for a lifetime. These moments to us, are not only times learnt but are times that will remind us that through travelling you learn a lot about yourself and others. 25 - Which colour recycling bin does this dress go into?
It looks like this dress is made out of bits of paper and plastic, and was thrown together a couple of days before the wedding.

Because that�۪s what they are wearing.. Nothing! Barring their underwear, this couple has decided to save some money on a suit and dress, and rather just paint it on themselves.

I never really thought about what a biker wedding would like, but I guess I would have assumed there would at least be a shirt and a dress, well I guess I was wrong!
22 - Death by Marshmallow��_
Every time I see this image I imagine this poor guy suffocating in all these folds of material. She looks like a giant marshmallow, just ready to be made into a delicious Smore!
21 - Madam Tussauds Missing a model..
Seriously, whoever created this wedding cake is incredibly talented. It looks like it could be in a wax museum. It must have taken them hours to create this masterpiece, and the bride looks exceptionally happy with the end result.
20 - Where�۪s the groom?
Oh wait, I didn�۪t see him because of his camo gear��_ Perhaps the groom is getting ready to hide from his mother-in-law after the wedding?
19 - A little underdressed perhaps?
This is appropriate for their honeymoon perhaps, but not as the actual wedding outfit! Guess his whole family know what he will be enjoying later, including his great-grandmother!

It looks like the painting of a Hot Wheels car play set for little boys, and actually if you look deeper into the image ��� there looks like a little boys room. So perhaps it�۪s in honor of her little boy.

Well that�۪s about all that fits in this catastrophic wedding outfit! How would you feel if you were Father of the Bride? I really wonder if it would be the proudest moment you ever felt being a dad.
16 - Have your cake, and eat it too...
How�۪s this for killing 2 birds with one stone? It�۪s a wedding dress cake! To be fair, it never really made it down the aisle ��� but it really is something you just want to take a big bite out of, isn�۪t it!
15 - Up, up and away��_
It�۪s a good thing this bride made it down the aisle, and didn�۪t float away. A wedding dress made out of balloons, it must have blown her husband away!
14 - Modesty is not in her dictionary��_
If I was a guest at this wedding, I would really struggle to focus on anything other then her enormous assets!

What ever happened to the modest bride walking down the aisle, being handed over by the beaming father to the new husband? Those were the good old days!

This couple must have a thing for orange ��� maybe they are getting ready for the next set of auditions for Orange is the New Black!

This couple could be featured on a brand new Tim Burton Corpse Bride Movie��_ They clearly wanted to get married ��� dead or alive!
10 - Girls Gone Wild
I actually feel a little bad for these girls��_ what was meant as a bit of fun, and more than likely something quite personal ��� has ended up on websites across the world. Kudos to all of them for keeping in such good shape!

Not such a happy occasion, her old man doesn�۪t look charmed��_ and who would blame him?
8 - Only in Japan��_
Will you find a full on Hello Kitty themed wedding. It�۪s amazing that since 1974, when Hello Kitty was first introduced, there has been no lag in her popularity. Hello Kitty is worth 7 billion a year, without advertising!
7 - Hanging by a moment��_
This is probably one of the most bizarre wedding images I have ever seen��_ and more painful. This couple is exchanging vows in the forest, hanging by their skin from the trees. Well, they say Love Hurts!
6 - Smoking Hot��_
This is no photoshop! It�۪s part of a new craze called Trash the Dress. Natasha Samuel poured lighter fluid on her dress and set it alight! It has proven fatal before when a Canadian girl drowned in a waterfall while ���trashing her dress�
Some have had mud fights, dyed the dress, paintballed, had food fights and ripped them up. What a very peculiar thing to do.
5 - Something Old, Something New��_
Something alive and creepy��_ I don�۪t know the story behind this, but it appears that there are several best men, including a snake and 2 lizards. Maybe one of them was the ring bearer!

▶ I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the Gobi desert, and then decided to stop walking for now.
▶ All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
▶ I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
▶ Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
▶ This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.

As part of my BFA project I created this short promotional piece inviting local high school students to participate in a hands on art workshop for UVYou Days. The bulk of the video was created using stop motion, shot with a DSLR camera. The photos were then compiled in After Effects and animated.
Special thanks to my wonderful wife for helping me set up and shoot over a thousand still frames late into multiple evenings.

One of my favorite things after a summer of chasing storms in Arizona is to release a short film of my time-lapse work during that time. I've released two of those now and I can't wait to see what happened this coming monsoon season.
Last year was the first time I was able to time-lapse while I chased outside of Arizona, on the central plains, which ended up being a very short film of a single, amazing storm near Booker, Texas: https://vimeo.com/67995158
This year on the plains, I wanted more time and more clips of the wide variety of weather out there. So between two trips in April and May, I spent a total of seven days in the central plains of this country, which included Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Texas. From I-70 to I-10. And everywhere in-between.
It was an amazing time and I essentially got something everyday we were out. Some days were amazing...like wall clouds with reported tornadoes approaching the Denver International Airport...or an awesome, red sunet on a marginal day in western Kansas. On one of our last days, it was a ridiculously blue hail core which you'll see in a few separate clips.
My journey wasn't solo...my buddy Andy Hoeland helped forecast and get us to the storms, and Matt Granz was a fellow photographer who made sure we pulled over at certain spots when I was too intent on chasing down a storm.
I brought along an eMotimo for the trip, but I forgot my power cord for the battery and wasn't able to get a replacement while out there. Regardless...most of the clips you see would have been lost if I'd taken even an extra few minutes setting up a panning head or dolly. Time-lapsing storms is a different beast than setting up for a Milky Way shot over the course of the night.
I used two Canon 5D Mark III's, along with a Canon 17-40, 16-35 and a Rokinon 14mm. A couple of Manfrotto tripods and mainly a Pixel Intervalometer along with a Promote Control when I broke the Pixel :)
This trip took us over 3000 miles in the course of those seven days. It was something I wont forget and I hope this film showcases a lot of the hard work that went into chasing the storms themselves, getting ourselves in the right spots for the best shots and recording them as quickly as I could.
If I have any regrets...it would be that I wish I would have seen another more picturesque supercell mothership and maybe a tornado.
On the first trip I also failed to clean my sensors, which resulted in a few dust spots. My second, five-day trip, I cleaned them before I went and during the trip. I struggle with dust spots, because if you spot remove in Lightroom, you can get funny results...so which is better? The dust spot or funky changing dots that might be even more noticeable?
I also used Adobe Premiere Pro for the first time ever and I have to say, it was a way better experience than editing in Final Cut Pro. In fact I'm uninstalling that here in a bit.

I just wanted to say that in the last few years of Tamal Krishna Maharaja’s presence he was promoting the chanting of the holy name, reading the lilas from the scriptures and dramatising those and he was adding a very spiritual side to the movement. Somehow it is appropriate on his disappearance day this Kirtan-mela is also going on. Because he actually was promoting this chanting of the holy names . He was dear to Srila Prabhupada and he would carry Prabhupada’s requests no matter how difficult they were. So we are missing very much the presence of Tamal Krishna Goswami Maharaja right now; certainly he would have a very stabilizing effect in the movement today. I know it’s late so I’ll just say a few words. And all glories to His Divine Grace Tamal Krishna Goswami Maharaja!
