SPERI is open to applications from full-time academics working in political economy who wish to spend a period of time at the University of Sheffield as a Visiting Fellow. Please email your applications to speri@sheffield.ac.uk setting out the case for the Fellowship and the period of time proposed, a statement of the research that would be undertaken during the Fellowship, and the names of two academic referees whom SPERI may consult. It should be noted as well that the University of Sheffield usually charges a ‘bench fee’ in relation to all such Fellowships to cover the administrative costs involved.
SPERI offers a dynamic and stimulating research environment in which doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows work in the open-plan SPERI office on the third floor of the ICoSS building at the heart of the University of Sheffield campus alongside all the other members of SPERI’s staff.
SPERI welcomes applications under a number of funding schemes, further details of which can be found below. Your research proposal should encompass one or more themes covered by our eight research programmes.
If you have a doctoral or post-doctoral research proposal and wish to discuss it with a member of SPERI’s staff, please email speri@sheffield.ac.uk in the first instance and the most appropriate member of our team will get back to you.
