"I Found Out" is a song by the English musician John Lennon from his 1970 album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.
The song expresses Lennon's disillusionment with a world dominated by what he saw as false religion and idols, and warns against being taken in by such beliefs.
In common with another theme on the album, the song is also critical of Lennon's former band The Beatles. During the late 1960s, bandmate George Harrison became interested in Eastern mysticism; Lennon dismisses Harrison's beloved gurus and Hare Krishna mantra as "pie in the sky" and refers to "religion from Jesus to Paul".
The instrumentation, style, and production of the song are typical of Lennon's Plastic Ono Band era work. The song features a low, rumbling tremolo guitar, thumping drums, a rolling, minimal bass guitar line, and a scathing vocal delivery. The recording is bare-bones, in stark contrast to the heavy production of Lennon's later albums. It is influenced more heavily by blues music than other songs on Plastic Ono Band.

John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the band the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed a celebrated songwriting partnership.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved in the skiffle craze as a teenager; his first band, the Quarrymen, evolved into the Beatles in 1960. When the group disbanded in 1970, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance", "Working Class Hero", and "Imagine". After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon. Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to raise his infant son Sean, but re-emerged with Ono in 1980 with the new album Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release.
The Pigeon Detectives are an English indie rock band from Rothwell in Leeds, West Yorkshire, who formed in 2004. They performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2006, where they were tagged "the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007" in an NME review. The band returned to the festivals in 2007 and again performed on the NME stage.
Speaking about the band's name, the drummer Jimmi Naylor said: "I never liked the name at first. But it's stuck– and it's probably got us more attention having a silly name. The band were just discussing band names and he came up with The Pigeon Detectives. It became an in-joke but we thought nothing of it. But when it came to our first gig in Leeds the promoter was saying,'What's your name?' We were like 'Oh, um The Pigeon Detectives.'"
When asked by BBC Sound about the name, Naylor said, "Dave breeds pigeons, and there's a pigeon that lives in a shed, thats his special pigeon, and this pigeon actually writes all the songs". Another story about the band's name was proposed when Matt Bowman and Ryan Wilson were interviewed for Later with Jools Holland; Bowman said that he and Wilson have a tradition of having Christmas dinner together and when they pulled the cracker they found the name in there. When asked about the Leeds Festival rumour Bowman denies it and said, "There's also a rumour that there's a giant pigeon at the bottom of our garden that writes all the lyrics, but that's equally as untrue."
The Pigeon (German: Die Taube) is a novella by Patrick Süskind about the fictional character Jonathan Noel, a solitary Parisian bank security guard who undergoes an existential crisis when a pigeon roosts in front of his one-room apartment's door, prohibiting him entrance to his private sanctuary. The story takes place in the span of one day, and follows how this seemingly insignificant event compounds to threaten Noel's sanity. The titular pigeon is a symbol for disorder intruding on the protagonist's meticulously organized existence. This book is Süskind's followup to his first novel, Perfume.
Jonathan Noel, lost his parents during the World War II, grew up with his uncle. Was married but his wife abandoned him, and he decided to spend his life alone without drawing anyone's attention.
Marie Baccouche, Jonathan's wife, she was already pregnant when she met him, later she left him for a Tunisian fruit-dealer.
Madame Lasalle, the owner of Jonathan's room, his refuge. Eventually, she consents to sell him the room.
Madame Rocard, a concierge of the house, which Jonathan lives in. He had never spoken to her before the incident with the pigeon occurred. Jonathan considers her too curious.
Monsieur Villman, the deputy director of the bank Jonathan works in.
Madam Roques, a senior cashier of the bank.
Monsieur Roedels, the director of the bank. Jonathan has to open the door of his limousine every day.

Loaded trigger finger
I don't wanna settle- second best
Lack of idle chatter
freedom from the morons you call friends
(chorus)
Flowers- on the dash board
Spending hours- talking to the wall
Power- where we're going
if you don't already know
I found out- too late
I found it out
Your too late smile's a frown- too late
I found it out
Silence now for hours
I don't need to know if you're impressed
Why should it matter?
You must have another- to arrest
Flowers- on the dash board
Spending hours- talking to the wall
Power- where we're going
as if you don't already know
I found out- too late
I found it out
Your too late smile's a frown- too late
