John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the band the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed a celebrated songwriting partnership.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved in the skiffle craze as a teenager; his first band, the Quarrymen, evolved into the Beatles in 1960. When the group disbanded in 1970, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance", "Working Class Hero", and "Imagine". After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon. Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to raise his infant son Sean, but re-emerged with Ono in 1980 with the new album Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release.
The Dirty Mac were a one-time English supergroup consisting of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell that Lennon put together for the Rolling Stones' TV special titled The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Recorded on 11 December 1968, this was the first time since the formation of the Beatles that Lennon, who was still in the group, had performed in public without them. The Dirty Mac recorded a rendition of the Lennon-penned Beatles track "Yer Blues" and then went on to back up Yoko Ono and violinist Ivry Gitlis on a track called "Whole Lotta Yoko" (essentially an extended blues jam on top of which Ono improvised free-form vocalizations). The name, thought of by Lennon, was a play on "Fleetwood Mac" who at that time were a very popular band in the United Kingdom. When asked what type of guitar amp Lennon would like to use for the performance his answer was "One that plays".
In 1996, The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, the album of the event, was issued, concurrently with a home video of the event. The DVD issue followed in 2004.
Eric Patrick Clapton, CBE (born 30 March 1945), is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a solo artist and separately as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream. Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Clapton ranked second in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and fourth in Gibson's "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time". He was also named number five in Time magazine's list of "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009.
In the mid-1960s, Clapton left the Yardbirds to play blues with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. Immediately after leaving Mayall, Clapton formed the power trio Cream with drummer Ginger Baker and bassist Jack Bruce, in which Clapton played sustained blues improvisations and "arty, blues-based psychedelic pop". Furthermore, he formed blues rock band Blind Faith with Baker, Steve Winwood, and Ric Grech. For most of the 1970s, Clapton's output bore the influence of the mellow style of JJ Cale and the reggae of Bob Marley. His version of Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff" helped reggae reach a mass market. Two of his most popular recordings were "Layla", recorded with Derek and the Dominos; and Robert Johnson's "Crossroads", recorded with Cream. Following the death of his son Conor in 1991, Clapton's grief was expressed in the song "Tears in Heaven", which featured in his Unplugged album.
John Ronald "Mitch" Mitchell (9 July 1947 – 12 November 2008) was an English drummer who was best known for his work in the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2009.
Mitchell starred in a children's television programme, Jennings and Derbyshire, when he was a teenager, and starred in a leading role in the 1960 British film Bottoms Up with Jimmy Edwards. He became a musician through working at Jim Marshall's drum shop on Saturdays while still at school. Early in his career, Mitchell gained considerable musical experience as a touring and session musician, working with Pete Nelson and the Travellers, Frankie Reid and the Casuals (1962), Johnny Harris and the Shades, The Pretty Things, Bill Knight & The Sceptres, The Riot Squad, and The Who as a session drummer while the band was in the process of replacing Doug Sandom with Keith Moon. In 1965, he also replaced temporarily Viv Prince as drummer in the Pretty Things.
Keith Richards (born 18 December 1943) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and one of the original members of the rock band The Rolling Stones. Rolling Stone Magazine credited Richards for "rock's greatest single body of riffs" on guitar and ranked him 4th on its list of 100 best guitarists. Fourteen songs that Richards wrote with the Rolling Stones' lead vocalist Mick Jagger are listed among Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". The Stones are generally known for their guitar interplay of rhythm and lead ("weaving") with Brian Jones, Mick Taylor and Ronnie Wood over the years. In spite of this, Richards plays the only guitar tracks on some of their most famous songs including "Paint It Black", "Ruby Tuesday", "Sympathy for the Devil", and "Gimme Shelter".
Richards was born 18 December 1943 at Livingston Hospital, in Dartford, Kent, England. He is the only child of Doris M L (née Dupree) and Herbert W Richards. His father was a factory worker who was injured in World War II during the Normandy invasion.

Lennon Remembered' was a half-hour television tribute to John Lennon, produced by CNN and broadcast on Superstation TBS in 1981 on the first anniversary of his murder. The documentary was produced, written and directed by David Guilbault. (Digitized from an old VHS copy). ----- On December 8th in 1980, when John Lennon was murdered, I was producing a two-hour live show on CNN, called "Take Two". We, of course, devoted the entire program that day to the news of his killing, his life and his music. A year later, for the anniversary of his death, I was tasked to produce a half-hour tribute that aired on WTBS. My budget was zero, so I literally had to beg or borrow every piece of footage I could get my hands on and put the show together quickly. Still, it was a labor of love. With what ...

According to Dr. Horowitz's research, published on the Internet and in The Book of 528: Prosperity Key of LOVE, the 528Hz frequency is associated with the "center of the musical-mathematical matrix of creation" as "pure tone LOVE." Formed in 2006 in Hamilton, ON, the band recorded and released their debut EP “Deadlines” in 2007. The six songs bring the listener rock as it should be; catchy, raw and unbridled. Arkells have succeeded in blending traditional blues hooks mixed with rock heavy riffs, and a hint of soul on the side. From the strum of the first chord, the music ignites into a fury of addictive and muscular cadence, taking hold of the listener in all the right ways. The five piece band is made up of Tim Oxford on drums, Dan Griffin on keys, Mike DeAngelis on guitar, Nick Dika on bass and Max Kerman on guitar and vocals (though all members layer their voices on most songs). Nearly 5 Years ago I visited Paris for two days and made this film. It is a very special place and I could see and sense the challenges it faced but equally admired the diversity of it's population and freedom it allowed it’s’ people to express. It's a very sad day for all of us as this very freedom has been attacked in such a callous way by just a few people. We must not let them win and so we must all stand together to never let this happen ever again. ----------- I thought I'd relax and catch a weekend in Paris with my family, just a few photos and videos for the album. When I got there I just couldn't resist. "The Day John Lennon Died" (documentary 2010) is a look at Lennon and his death through archival footage and interviews. Someone once said to me when politicians are assassinated it's one thing, but "when they start killing the artists," it's a bad sign. John Lennon's loss was certainly devastating, and I'm not sure it could have been avoided. Perhaps it might have been delayed, though. He was a man who loved New York, loved walking down the street. He didn't have bodyguards, and he signed autographs outside of the Dakota. Part of the problem is that the security people at the Dakota apparently let people "hang out" there -- a mistake -- and another is that Lennon didn't always enter or leave the Dakota by driving directly in or out of the garage. So as the completely obsessed Mark Davi...

"The Tomorrow Show: John Lennon" Filmed: 25-04-1975 Length: 1 hour 06 minutes 11 seconds iMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0158435/ One of the few TV interviews John Lennon ever granted was to "The Tomorrow Show" with Tom Snyder, of historical signifigance due to Lennon's legendary contribution to the music of this generation. The Tomorrow Show With Tom Snyder was one of the hippest, most-interesting late-night talk shows around, during its 70s and early- 80s run. The Tomorrow Show With Tom Snyder: John, Paul, Tom & Ringo brings together captivating interviews with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr.
Claymation of John Lennon's famous interview with Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone in 1970. John talks honestly about the break up of the Beatles.
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview. Fastforward to present day and using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon’s every word. Raskin marries traditional pen sketches by James Braithwaite. James Braithwaite is an illustrator, animator, and director based out of Montreal Canada. James’s first animation, “I Met the Walrus” won best short animation from the American Film Institute, and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2008. The film has since been nominated for an Emmy, and has won two awards at the Banff Television Awards.
