1997 (MCMXCVII) was a common year starting on Wednesday (dominical letter E) of the Gregorian calendar, the 1997th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 997th year of the 2nd millennium, the 97th year of the 20th century, and the 8th year of the 1990s decade.
Genius often refers to a person with distinguished mental abilities.
Genius may also refer to:
A genius is a person who displays exceptional intellectual ability or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of new advances in a domain of knowledge. Despite the presence of scholars in many subjects in history, many geniuses have shown high achievements only in a single subject, unlike the talented people. There is no scientifically precise definition of genius, and the question of whether the notion itself has any real meaning has long been a subject of debate, although psychologists are converging on a definition that emphasizes creativity and eminent achievement.
In ancient Rome, the genius (plural in Latin genii) was the guiding spirit or tutelary deity of a person, family (gens), or place (genius loci). The noun is related to the Latin verb genui, genitus, "to bring into being, create, produce". Because the achievements of exceptional individuals seemed to indicate the presence of a particularly powerful genius, by the time of Augustus the word began to acquire its secondary meaning of "inspiration, talent". The term genius acquired its modern sense in the eighteenth century, and is a conflation of two Latin terms: genius, as above, and ingenium, a related noun referring to our innate dispositions, talents and inborn nature. Beginning to blend the concepts of the divine and the talented, the Encyclopédie article on genius (génie) describes such a person as "he whose soul is more expansive and struck by the feelings of all others; interested by all that is in nature never to receive an idea unless it evokes a feeling; everything excites him and on which nothing is lost."
Smosh is an American web-based sketch comedy duo consisting of Ian Andrew Hecox (born November 30, 1987) and Anthony Padilla (born September 16, 1987).
Padilla began posting flash animations on Newgrounds in 2003, under the name Smosh. He was later joined by his friend Ian Hecox. Soon afterward, they began to post videos on YouTube in the autumn of 2005 and became one of the most popular channels on that site. As of February 2016, the Smosh channel has more than 21 million subscribers and 5.2 billion video views. The Smosh team has expanded to include others to handle animated, other language, and video gaming content videos, and the sketches have included more actors.
The Smosh channel has experienced three different spans as the most subscribed YouTube channel. The first period spanned from May to June 2006, the second spanned from April 2007 to September 2008, and the third span lasted from January to August 2013.
The franchise began when Anthony Padilla built a website in 2002, smosh.com, and made several different Flash animations. He has stated that the name Smosh came from an incident where he mistook a friend explaining a mosh pit, as a "smosh pit". Later, his friend, Ian Hecox, joined the venture. Padilla and Hecox first met in their sixth grade science class. They became friends, and quickly discovered their knack for comedy. In 2005, they joined YouTube and made several videos together, lip syncing the theme songs to Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. At first, these videos were not intended to be posted online, but after they sent them to their friends, they started a YouTube channel.

Natural Sound Jets attacked a town outside the Albanian port city of Saranda on Wednesday, and local authorities said four protesters were hurt in a clash with army troops. The attack came despite a Defence Ministry statement issued earlier in the day which denied the government had ordered jets to bomb protesters in the south of the country. An Associated Press photographer saw Chinese-made MiG-15 warplanes drop a bomb next to two houses in the village of Livena, near Saranda, and the smoke from two more bombs. In Krania, 100 kilometres (70 miles) east of Saranda, rebels showed off their arms, including a tank and grenades. The smoke from MiG attacks could be seen in the hills. In 1997, Tiger Woods became the youngest—and first non-white—person to win the Masters Tournament. The opening scene of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” video put a hip-hop spin on this iconic moment by depicting Puff Daddy—known here as “Puffy Woods”—winning the fictitious “Bad Boys World Champion PGA Tour.” He was unstoppable. Versace and hip-hop had a long relationship before 1997, but the The Notorious B.I.G.s music video for “Hypnotize” made it a worldwide trend, thanks to Big’s billowing silk Versace shirt with custom compass design. Released in late 1997, the epic disaster romance film Titanic became the biggest movie of all time, and its theme song “My Heart Will Go On” turned Celine Dion into the undisputed queen of pop music. At the same time, Southern gangsta rap was finally breaking through to the mainstream thanks to the success of Master P’s “Make ’Em Say Uhh!” and Grove Street Party. The gaudy, over-the-top No Limit album covers, and others like them, were created by Houston’s Pen & Pixel and the Bay Area’s Phunky Phat Graph-X, two independent design companies who mixed tragedy and luxury using state-of-the-art computer software. It's irreversible now
Gaia has already begun
War will follow
And THEN we will learn how to think
For at least a thousand years
Brace yourselves, good people
Brace yourselves...
