This is an outtake of the extended interview with Louisiana songwriter David Egan from the documentary "Songs of Souls." The footage opens with Egan playing an instrumental of "Goodnight, Irene" first recorded by Lead Belly. At 12:05, Egan performs "My Baby Pulled an Inside Job." At 29:45, the clip ends with "Fading Footsteps."
Inspired by the folklore of Lead Belly singing his way out of two prisons, "Songs of Souls" asks four Louisiana songwriters what they would perform to get out of the gates of hell, or into the gates of heaven.
Filmed entirely on location in Louisiana -- including inside Angola Prison -- "Songs of Souls" also explores why the state is the incarceration capital of the world.

A Georgia teen says he was the victim of a savage beating during which his classmates cheered on his attacker.
CBS Atlanta reports that, last Tuesday, 16-year-old David Egan, who attends Parkview High School in Gwinnett County, was beaten so badly his nose was detached from his skull.
"I turn back and I felt something hit me," Egan said. "I didn't even see him move. The first hit everything went blurry. Next thing I know I was on the ground. I didn't even see it coming."
The second punch sent Egan sprawling on the ground. That's when, he said, his classmates started cheering.
"He had fractures all over his cheekbone, fractures which require a metal plate to constructively hold the bones back together, and the whole base of his nose was broken to the side of his face. His eyes were completely swollen shut," Egan's father Daniel said.
Footage of the brawl can be seen above, as well as photographic evidence of Egan's injuries.
Daniel Egan told WPTV the fight may have been sparked by false rumors about his son stealing his attacker's shoes.
"He said the boy accused him of touching his sneakers or taking his sneakers," Daniel Egan said. "He said, 'I tried to talk to him and I don't even know this kid.' He's been through so much physical trauma he is not thinking much about what happened, he is just trying to cope with the pain."
Egan's alleged attacker, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, faces unspecified disciplinary action from the school and has been charged with battery.

David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.

Sing It
"Sing It" is a song by American recording artist Rebecca Black. It was released on the iTunes Store under the label RB Records, as Black's fourth single on May 8, 2012. "Sing It" received mixed to positive reviews from music critics, surprising some due to the song not being modified with the pitch correcting software Auto-Tune that was used in Black's previous singles. The accompanying music video was premiered the day before.
Background
On May 2, 2012, Black revealed that she was going to release a single titled "Sing It". Black unveiled the single artwork through her official website. A preview of 30 seconds was posted at YouTube. A studio version leaked via Radio Disney a few days before official premiere. On May 8, 2012, the accompanying music video was uploaded on Black's YouTube channel, with release of the single digitally at iTunes Store.
About the song, Black said: "It's called 'Sing It' and it's very different from past songs I've released. It has a really fun feel to it and is just about letting loose and letting the music take over."

It was later, while attending Centenary College in Shreveport that he was told by an honest professor that music was more likely his forte; so, he enrolled to study Jazz Theory and Composition at the North Texas State in Denton. After some time spent in Nashville he returned to Shreveport and began working with his childhood friend Buddy Flett in the R&B; band The A-Train, from its beginning in nineteen seventy-six until the band parted in nineteen eighty-six; he also spent two years as part of Jo El Sonniers' back-up band but, it was in nineteen ninety-two when his composition "Please No More," was performed by Joe Cocker on the album 'Night Calls,' that he decided to focus solely on his song writing career. Over the years since then he has become a well renowned writer and accompanist to artists such as; Irma Thomas, Etta James, Jimmy Witherspoon, Solomon Burke, Tab Benoit and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, to name but a few. The twelve self-penned numbers are immersed in a wonderful concoction of very late night after hours Jazz and gloopy New Orleans swamp music. His vocals possess the svelte and elegant languor of Charles Brown and Nat King Cole; he also displays a marvellous understanding of the latter's Jazz orientated piano phrasing. The almost drawling, rolling urging Jazz inflected piano of "That's A Big O'l Hurt," is joined by a breathy and equally moody baritone saxophone that is luxuriously and effortlessly delivered by Dickie Landry. The driving, urging rolling piano shuffle duties of "Outta Mississippi," are backed by Bruce McDonalds's angry burning fuzz guitar that is straining at the leash well down in the mix, all the while Dickie's screaming alto saxophone rides over the top strengthening the urgency of the number. The absolute highlights of the album are the slow burning emotional builders that are "Every Tear," a simple, sincere declaration of love that burns itself into your soul and "On The Outside," a Jazz / soul piano driven tale of a man's realisation that he will always be excluded despite all his best and sincere efforts. Teen Beaten So Badly His Nose Detached From His Face As Classmates Allegedly Cheered
A Georgia teen says he was the victim of a savage beating during which his classmates cheered on his attacker. CBS Atlanta reports that, last Tuesday, 16-year-old David Egan, who attends Parkview High School in Gwinnett County, was beaten so badly his nose was detached from his skull. CBS Atlanta reports that, last Tuesday, 16-year-old David Egan, who attends Parkview High School in Gwinnett County, was beaten so badly his nose was detached from his skull.
"I turn back and I felt something hit me," Egan said. "I didn't even see him move. The first hit everything went blurry. Next thing I know I was on the ground. I didn't even see it coming."
The second punch sent Egan sprawling on the ground. That's when, he said, his classmates started cheering.
"He had fractures all over his cheekbone, fractures which require a metal plate to constructively hold the bones back together, and the whole base of his nose was broken to the side of his face. His eyes were completely swollen shut," Egan's father Daniel said.
Footage of the brawl can be seen above, as well as photographic evidence of Egan's injuries.
Daniel Egan told WPTV the fight may have been sparked by false rumors about his son stealing his attacker's shoes.
"He said the boy accused him of touching his sneakers or taking his sneakers," Daniel Egan said. "He said, 'I tried to talk to him and I don't even know this kid.' He's been through so much physical trauma he is not thinking much about what happened, he is just trying to cope with the pain."
Egan's alleged attacker, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, faces unspecified disciplinary action from the school and has been charged with battery.

After some time spent in Nashville he returned to Shreveport and began working with his childhood friend Buddy Flett in the R&B; band The A-Train, from its beginning in nineteen seventy-six until the band parted in nineteen eighty-six; he also spent two years as part of Jo El Sonniers' back-up band but, it was in nineteen ninety-two when his composition "Please No More," was performed by Joe Cocker on the album 'Night Calls,' that he decided to focus solely on his song writing career.
Over the years since then he has become a well renowned writer and accompanist to artists such as; Irma Thomas, Etta James, Jimmy Witherspoon, Solomon Burke, Tab Benoit and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, to name but a few.
The twelve self-penned numbers are immersed in a wonderful concoction of very late night after hours Jazz and gloopy New Orleans swamp music.
His vocals possess the svelte and elegant languor of Charles Brown and Nat King Cole; he also displays a marvellous understanding of the latter's Jazz orientated piano phrasing. The almost drawling, rolling urging Jazz inflected piano of "That's A Big O'l Hurt," is joined by a breathy and equally moody baritone saxophone that is luxuriously and effortlessly delivered by Dickie Landry. The driving, urging rolling piano shuffle duties of "Outta Mississippi," are backed by Bruce McDonalds's angry burning fuzz guitar that is straining at the leash well down in the mix, all the while Dickie's screaming alto saxophone rides over the top strengthening the urgency of the number. The absolute highlights of the album are the slow burning emotional builders that are "Every Tear," a simple, sincere declaration of love that burns itself into your soul and "On The Outside," a Jazz / soul piano driven tale of a man's realisation that he will always be excluded despite all his best and sincere efforts.

This is the third solo album from Shreveport, Louisiana born David who was born in nineteen fifty-four; family life for David was steeped in music, a household where conductors, singers and musicians often visited. It was later, while attending Centenary College in Shreveport that he was told by an honest professor that music was more likely his forte; so, he enrolled to study Jazz Theory and Composition at the North Texas State in Denton.
