Macedonia (i/ˌmæsᵻˈdoʊniə/ mas-i-DOH-nee-ə; Macedonian: Македонија, tr. Makedonija, IPA: [makɛˈdɔnija]), officially the Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian:
Република Македонија , tr. Republika Makedonija), is a country located in the central Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. It is one of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, from which it declared independence in 1991. It became a member of the United Nations in 1993, but, as a result of an ongoing dispute with Greece over use of the name Macedonia, it was admitted under the provisional description of "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" (Поранешна Југословенска Република Македонија, tr. Poranešna Jugoslovenska Republika Makedonija), abbreviated as FYROM.
A landlocked country, the Republic of Macedonia is bordered by Kosovo to the northwest, Serbia to the north, Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, and Albania to the west. It constitutes approximately the northwestern third of the larger geographical region of Macedonia, which also comprises the neighbouring parts of northern Greece and a smaller portion in southwestern Bulgaria. The country's capital is Skopje, with 506,926 inhabitants according to the 2002 census. Other cities include Bitola, Kumanovo, Prilep, Tetovo, Ohrid, Veles, Štip, Kočani, Gostivar, Kavadarci, and Strumica. It has over 50 lakes, plus sixteen mountains higher than 2,000 m (6,562 ft). Macedonia is a member of the UN and of the Council of Europe. Since December 2005 it has also been a candidate for joining the European Union and has applied for NATO membership.

A former prime minister of FYROM, Ljubčo Georgievski, which holds a bulgarian passport, exposes in a TV show aired in the Former Yugoslav Republic of "Macedonia" the academically accepted history of Ancient Macedonia, showing its hellenic (greek) character. Alexander the Great's greekness is also mentioned. I did not make this video and I do not own it. The copyright belongs to the creator of this video which deserves all my gratitude.

Protesters have stormed the parliament of the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, and assaulted the leader of the Social Democrats in a bid to stop the formation of a new government. It comes after an alliance of Social Democrats and ethnic Albanian parties voted to elect an Albanian as parliament speaker, witnesses said. Roughly 200 protesters broke through a police cordon, and surrounded politicians waving national flags and shouting 'traitors'. Footage showed Zoran Zaev, leader of th… READ MORE : http://www.euronews.com/2017/04/27/protesters-storm-fyrom-parliament-attack-mps What are the top stories today? From State Department's press briefing in WDC 3.3.2016
Travel video about destination Macedonia. Macedonia is a young Balkan republic that is a combination of both Orient and Occident. Skopje is the capital of Macedonia and is located in the Vardar River Valley. It has a dramatic history that spans many thousands of years and forms the junction of two trading routes in southeast Europe that unite both western and eastern civilisation. The legacy of Ottoman times is omnipresent in Skopje. One of the city’s most well-preserved mosques is that of the Gazi-Isisa-Bey Djamia and in the seventeenth century it is believed that there were up to a hundred and twenty mosques in the city. Ottoman rule began in 1392 and lasted for more than five hundred years. Near the village of Glumovo is the Bogorodica Monastery that was founded in the fourteenth ce...

From Prishtina, Kosovo, I arrived in the capital city of Skopje. Skopje is an interesting city due to the two sides that are complete opposites. I've been reading what they say in the news
Hoping that I hear back from you
I wrote you this letter of explanation
A look at things from my point of view
It's a matter of supply and demand
Field research and capital gains
Success is just a product of sex and money
I've got the looks; they've got the brains
It's a necessary part of the job
Get maybe just a little involved
But most of our dealings were strictly business
I just wanted to know
If' you're okay and it's all right
Everybody's talking about
Who's with who and who's making out
Wouldn't we be better off making music
Instead of all this sleeping around?
'Cause everyone here has a mistress
It's such a dirty business
If we put our heads together
The songs will live forever
I gotta get out of this hell-hole
I'm packing my things and I'm coming home
You're okay and it's alright
You're okay, is this alright,
if I put my hand on your thigh?
