The term Atlantic Division may refer to:
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in North America, and is widely considered to be the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. It has 30 franchised member clubs (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada), and is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by FIBA (also known as the International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the four major North American professional sports leagues. NBA players are the world's best paid sportsmen, by average annual salary per player.
The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The league adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with its rival National Basketball League (NBL). The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in New York City. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in Secaucus, New Jersey.
A noun (from Latin nōmen, literally meaning "name") is a word that functions as the name of some specific thing or set of things, such as living creatures, objects, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas.Linguistically, a noun is a member of a large, open part of speech whose members can occur as the main word in the subject of a clause, the object of a verb, or the object of a preposition.
Lexical categories (parts of speech) are defined in terms of the ways in which their members combine with other kinds of expressions. The syntactic rules for nouns differ from language to language. In English, nouns are those words which can occur with articles and attributive adjectives and can function as the head of a noun phrase.
Word classes (parts of speech) were described by Sanskrit grammarians from at least the 5th century BC. In Yāska's Nirukta, the noun (nāma) is one of the four main categories of words defined.
The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nōmen. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.
Division or divider may refer to:
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The team was established in 1995, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. When the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis, Tennessee to become the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, the Raptors became the only Canadian-based team in the NBA. They originally played their home games at the SkyDome (since renamed Rogers Centre in 2005), before moving eastward along Bremner Boulevard to the Air Canada Centre in 1999.
Like most expansion teams, the Raptors struggled in their early years, but after the acquisition of Vince Carter through a draft day trade in 1998, the team set league-attendance records and made the NBA playoffs in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Carter was instrumental in leading the team to a then-franchise high 47 wins and their first playoff series win in 2001, where they advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. During the 2002–03 and 2003–04 seasons, they failed to make significant progress and he was traded in 2004 to the New Jersey Nets.
The 2016-17 NBA season is almost here. Each team is getting their game plan together as they prep for the 2016-17 season. Over the next month I will be releasing NBA Preview videos of each division in the NBA to get fans prepared for another exciting NBA season. One of the busiest offseasons in recent memory shook up the NBA landscape dramatically, but one thing remains clear despite flurries of high-profile player movement: The Golden State Warriors will return to the hardwood in October as the unequivocal favorites to repeat as champions. There are plenty of interesting questions heading the season: Can the Boston Celtics avenge last year's Eastern Conference Finals loss to the Cavaliers? Will the Milwaukee Bucks make a leap? Are the Philadelphia 76ers capable of staying healthy and contending for a playoff spot? I will be previewing all the 30 teams in a 6 video series that will be broken down by the division. In this video, the Atlantic Division is the focus. Toronto and Boston are the cream of the crop, the others three teams have a lot to pr...

The NBA Draft has come to an end. The biggest news of the night was obviously Jimmy Butler being traded to the Timberwolves and that set the tone for many trades throughout the night. Many saw the selection of Washington product Markelle Fultz at pick No. 1. The selection of UCLA's Lonzo Ball by the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 2 was also fairly predictable. However, the rest of the night was full of surprises. I will breakdown each team that drafted last Thursday by division. It will be 6 video series of my NBA Draft Grades for the 2017 Draft class. Next up, is the Atlantic Division.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Founded in 1946 and originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA, and only one of eight (out of 23) to survive the league's first decade. After their move to Philadelphia in 1963, a contest was held to decide on their new name. The winning name, chosen by Walter Stalberg, was the "76ers", as a "tribute to the gallant men who forged this country's independence" in 1776. The 76ers have had a rich history, with many of the greatest players in NBA history having played for the organization, including Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, ...
