Three pedestrians killed in separate crashes on south-east Queensland roads

An elderly man has died in hospital after being hit by a car earlier in the week, with two other men also hit and killed overnight on south-east Queensland roads.

The latest victim was on a mobility scooter on Wednesday when he tried to cross Bayview Street in Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast at a pedestrian crossing.

The 91-year-old victim was hit just after 1pm and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, where he passed away overnight.

In a separate incident, a teenager was hit by a car while walking home from a party with two friends in Caboolture. The 19-year-old Ningi man was hit on Old Toorbul Point Road about 2am on Saturday and died at the scene.

Less than five hours earlier, another man died after being hit by a car in Palmview on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency services were called to Frizzo Road, north of the Palmview Forest Drive intersection, about 9.30pm on Friday. The 41-year-old, from nearby Buderim, was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.

No one else was injured and the Forensic Crash Unit investigations into all three incidents were continuing.
