Much of his recent material is focused on the absurdity of the corporate news media, social criticism, and modern politics. In June 2009 he began producing The Jimmy Dore Show, a one-hour comedic look at the news, which originates at KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles, airs nationally on the Pacifica Network and on the web via The Young Turk's Network. The United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary (informally Senate Judiciary Committee) is a standing committee of the United States Senate, of the United States Congress. The Judiciary Committee, with 20 members, is in charge of conducting hearings prior to the Senate votes on confirmation of federal judges (including Supreme Court justices) nominated by the president. In recent years, this role has made the committee increasingly a point of contention, with numerous party-line votes and standoffs over which judges should be approved. The committee also has a broad jurisdiction over matters relating to federal criminal law, as well as human rights, immigration law, intellectual property rights, antitrust law, and Internet privacy. It is also Senate procedure that all proposed Constitutional Amendments pass through the Judiciary Committee.
The committee is one of the oldest in the Senate. It was initially created in 1816.
The United States is a federation, with elected officials at the federal (national), state and local levels. On a national level, the head of state, the President, is elected indirectly by the people, through an Electoral College. Today, the electors virtually always vote with the popular vote of their state. All members of the federal legislature, the Congress, are directly elected. There are many elected offices at state level, each state having at least an elective Governor and legislature. There are also elected offices at the local level, in counties and cities. According to political science professor Jennifer Lawless, there were 519,682 elected officials in the United States as of 2012.
State law regulates most aspects of the election, including primaries, the eligibility of voters (beyond the basic constitutional definition), the running of each state's electoral college, and the running of state and local elections. The United States Constitution defines (to a basic extent) how federal elections are held, in Article One and Article Two and various amendments. The federal government has also been involved in attempts to increase voter turnout, by measures such as the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.
A judiciary committee is a committee of a legislative body that considers issues related to the legal system.

WASHINGTON — Lawmakers heading the Senate intelligence committee focused squarely on Russia as they opened a hearing Thursday on attempts at undermining the 2016 U.S. presidential election. "Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a deliberate campaign carefully constructed to undermine our election," Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner said.
The federal investigation into Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election reached President Trump’s innermost circle. Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner is a focus of federal investigations and officials believe he has information relevant to the probe. The cloud of the Russia investigations followed the president as he traveled on his first foreign trip, and the president had harsh words for American NATO allies
Josh Sigurdson sits down with John Doull and John Sneisen to break down an issue that just won't go away. Did Russia meddle in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election? We start by listing the top 5 examples of the Clinton's working with Russia. In fact, as the media continued to blow up nonsense in their attempt to make it look like Donald Trump was working for Vladimir Putin, the Clinton's actually had a long paper trail including major uranium sales and Clinton Foundation donations. All the while, the media ignored these facts and pushed for further tension with Russia. It's important to point out how incredibly careless and dangerous it is to act out aggressively towards Russia and attempt to start a war which is exactly what Clinton, McCain and countless other bureaucrats have been attem...
Intelligence community testimony and an ongoing special counsel investigation suggest an extensive Russian effort to interfere in last year’s U.S. presidential election and thereby undermine confidence in our democratic system. Much relevant information remains classified and congressional and executive-branch inquiries are far from concluded. But the outlines of this purported Kremlin meddling do reflect a range of intelligence tactics previously developed by Russia to destabilize its Baltic neighbors and weaken democratic institutions worldwide. To examine these and other related issues, Hudson Institute welcomed Fox News host Bret Baier to moderate a discussion with Michael Doran, Michael Pregent, David Tafuri, and Hannah Thoburn. Join us on July 6 for an examination of recent Russian ...
