The Force (Star Wars)

The Force is a binding, metaphysical, and ubiquitous power in the fictional universe of the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. Introduced in the first Star Wars film (1977), it is wielded primarily by the Jedi and Sith monastic orders and is a part of all subsequent Star Wars works, including the Star Wars Legends collection of comic books, novels, and video games. The line "May the Force be with you", spoken in each of the Star Wars films, has become part of the pop culture vernacular and is iconic of the series.

Depiction

In the original Star Wars film (1977), later dubbed A New Hope, the Force is first described by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Throughout the series, characters exhibit various paranormal powers that rely on the Force, such as telekinesis and empathy. The Force has a negative and destructive aspect called the "dark side", which feeds off emotions such as fear, anger, greed, pride, jealousy and hate. Jedi Master Yoda explains to his pupil Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back (1980):

Coffee (Miguel song)

"Coffee" (also titled "Coffee (Fucking)") is a song by American singer Miguel, featuring vocals from fellow American rapper Wale, taken from his third studio album Wildheart (2015). It was released on May 4, 2015 by ByStorm Entertainment and RCA Records as the album's lead single.

Background

The song was leaked online in December 2014, and it was featured on his mixtape Wild.

Critical reception

"Coffee" received generally positive reviews from music critics. The song was chosen upon release as Pitchfork Media's "Best New Track". Meaghan Garvey stated that "in an age where our R&B heroes proclaim their lack of emotions a little too loudly, "Coffee" presents intimacy as infinitely bad-ass: "A cold flame, the thrill of no shame."Rolling Stone ranked "Coffee" at number 27 on its year-end list to find the 50 best songs of 2015.

Music video

A music video for the song was released on June 16, 2015. The original version was used to make the video instead of the extended version.

Force (Superfly album)

Force is the fourth studio album by Japanese pop-rock unit Superfly. It was released on September 19, 2012. Force commemorates the group's fifth anniversary and was released in several formats, including a special fifth anniversary edition which includes a bonus CD (included with the first-press releases), a vinyl version of the album, and a commemorative poster. Japanese convenience store Lawson will also exclusively sell a special edition of the album which includes a bonus DVD. On the iTunes Store, the album will be packaged with one bonus track, with a second reserved for those who pre-ordered the album.

The album's title comes from both the English word "force" as well as the similarity between the Japanese pronunciations of "force" and "fourth".

To support Force, Superfly is going on two separate tours, the "Live Force" national concert hall tour from October 2012 through January 2013 and the tentatively titled "Superfly Arena Tour 2013" in March and April 2013.

Western Force

Western Force is a rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia playing in the international Super rugby competition. They first competed in the 2006 season and finished with the wooden spoon in that year, however their performances greatly improved in 2007. In 2008 they finished in 8th place, just missing out on the finals again. The team is the fourth Australian team to be accepted into the competition. It was coached by former New Zealand All Blacks coach, John Mitchell for the first five seasons before former Australian sevens captain Richard Graham took charge ahead of the 2011 season.

History

The bid

The bid for entry into an expanded Super 12 competition started in the early 2000s, when in 2002, a group was formed to oversee developments in the push for a new Australian franchise. The group's objective was to ensure that if SANZAR agreed to a fourth Australian franchise, that RugbyWA would be ready. RugbyWA were invited to bid for the fourth Australian team, and the union assembled a project team, which was given four weeks to formulate their bid. The bid was backed by the state government, which loaned more than one million dollars to RugbyWA, as well as committing $25 million towards an upgrade of the Members Equity Stadium. It was announced in December 2004 that RugbyWA had beaten Rugby Union Victoria for the right to host the fourth Australian franchise.

Force (comics)

Force is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in Prince Namor, the Savage Sub-Mariner #67 (Nov. 1972) and was created by Steve Gerber and Don Heck.

Fictional character biography

Clayton Wilson first appears in the title Prince Namor, the Savage Sub-Mariner a graduate student at Empire State University working as a research assistant to scientist Dr. Damon Walters, who develops a prototype device for creating a protective force field. Wilson steals the prototype force field generator, creates a battle-suit that incorporates it, and adopts the alias "Force". The character then goes on a rampage through New York City until defeated by hero Namor the Sub-Mariner.

Force retreats and appears in the title Iron Man, having become a professional criminal, working for crime boss Justin Hammer in exchange for modifications to his suit. Force and a group of mercenaries hijack the yacht of industrialist Tony Stark (the alter ego of Iron Man) and take several hostages. Iron Man, however, tracks the yacht, defeats Force and his men and rescues the hostages.

Feel (Nagisa Ni te album)

Feel is the third studio album by Japanese psychedelic-folk rock duo Nagisa Ni te. It was released in 2002 by Org Records. In 2002, P-Vine Records re-released this album followed by Jagjaguwar in 2002 for North American/European distribution.

Characterized by a very clear production sound, Feel can be regarded as one of their most acoustic. After Geographic's Songs for a Simple Moment compilation, Feel is among their first studio releases to have a western distribution.

The Madcap Laughs

The Madcap Laughs is the debut solo album by the English singer-songwriter Syd Barrett. It was recorded after Barrett had left Pink Floyd in April 1968. The album had a chequered recording history, with work beginning in mid-1968, but the bulk of the sessions taking place between April and July 1969, for which five different producers were credited − including Barrett, Peter Jenner (1968 sessions), Malcolm Jones (early-to-mid-1969 sessions), and fellow Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Roger Waters (mid-1969 sessions). Among the guest musicians are Willie Wilson from (Gilmour's old band) Jokers Wild and Robert Wyatt of the band Soft Machine.

The Madcap Laughs, released in January 1970 on Harvest in the UK, and on Capitol Records in the US, enjoyed minimal commercial success on release, reaching number 40 on the UK's official albums chart, while failing to hit the US charts. It was re-released in 1974 as part of Syd Barrett (which contained The Madcap Laughs and Barrett). The album was remastered and reissued in 1993, along with Barrett's other albums, Barrett (1970) and Opel (1988), independently and as part of the Crazy Diamond box set. A newly remastered version was released in 2010.
